  1. Will you be updating the pack to include the uniforms which will replace the BDUs for each service? Specifically, I'm looking for the Army Combat Uniform (ACU).

    WGL Mod 4.12 Update

IRL yes, mortars are live rounds once they leave the tube. For instance, there is an malfunction called a dead hang where a mortar goes up only a few feet before falling to the earth and exploding. The 40mm grenade round from the Mk19, on the other hand, has an arming radius, where it has to travel (rotating as it travels) before the round is armed. One of the two Adobe files that came with WGL talks about firing mortars. It may still be in your OFP directory.

    COMBAT! HMMWV Pack Released

Tell me, are there any plans to have Air Defense Artillery (ADA) versions of these HMMWV? Â The 'west' is lacking in ADA capability, and the US Army has a handful of Short Range Air Defense (SORAD) weapons systems built on the HMMWV platform. So have you considered building Avenger or SLAMRAM ADA systems with this mod?

One more question Kuri: Will you add scripting to armor vehicles to have smoke dispensers? Even if you couldn't do this for the AI, at consider giving player vehicles the option.

I hope this helps: This round was introduced in the late 1970s and is used in the 2A42 cannon fixed to the BMP-2 and in movable mounts on Ka-50 and Mi-8 helicopters with double ammunition supply and a selective fire rate of 200 and 600rpm. Post your OFP nigglies

I'd like to see machine guns have a suppressive effect on the enemy. It seems like current MGs focus on engaging point targets rather than suppressing area targets.

What type of mission do you want made?

I enjoy missions using the Chain of Command interface. The handful which exist are some of the more demanding and immersive missions available.

Kuri, Earlier in this thread you mentioned changing out the some of the aircraft, specifically the A-10. Â Tell me, even if you don't change the aircraft for the next version, could you replace the pilots? Â They seem really out of place when next to their updated comrades. Also, will you be keeping jeep class vehicles or replacing them with COMBAT! Humvees?

    Military Tatics

In the US Army squad movement techniques like these are broken down into: 1) traveling 2) bounding over-watch 3) traveling over-watch Traveling is best described as putting your troops in one of the OFP formations and then walking from point A to B. Bounding is best described as leap-frogging, where one group is stationary and covering a moving element. Traveling over-watch consists of one unit in constant movement while the other covers by leap-frogging. I use these in OFP without scripting just by calling 'danger' and 'stay low'. Â I then move groups of two to three men at a time with one group always waiting in 'ready' status to as the cover the men who are moving. Â No scripting, just proper use of the command interface.

    EECP - Enhanced ECP

I've thought about the weapon choice too. Â The thing is, many fights in OFP are at the squad level. Â The M240B is not only a platoon level asset (with 2 M240s per PLT), but it's also a crew served weapon, with a MG and AG attached. I believe the SAW may be more appropriate for OFP, especially the orginal boxed campaigns. Â As it is, the standard US Army infantry squad equips two of these per squad. Â OFP, however, usually only deploys one MG per squad and having a M240B attached to a squad is not unheard of. Â Many OFP missions are also lacking in the amount of automatic weapons on the US team.

    EECP - Enhanced ECP

I could not disagree more with the above statement. The M249 SAW has a loaded weight of nearly 24 pounds when loaded with a 200 round box of linked rounds. Its cyclic rate of fire is 725 rounds per minute when the gas regulator is set in the normal position(where is should be left 99.9 percent of the time) The M16A2 has a loaded weight of 8.8lbs with a 30 round magazine. Its cyclic rate of fire is 750-800rpm (note cyclic rate is a theoretical measure given infinite ammo and no mag changes it is usefull in comparing controlability and is not to be confused with the practical rate of fire). The  SAW actually has a lower cyclic rate of fire than the M-16 series at over twice the weight.  The recoil impulse of the M-249 is much lower. I can also vouch for this from personal experience with both weapons systems as an Armorer several years ago Heavy Metal is right.  Unlike to M60, the M249 SAW is managable enough to be fired the shoulder.  When firing, soldiers fire bursts instead of going cyclic.  We fire the weapon long enough to say "give me a burst" (compared to the "give me a burst of six" for the M60) to keep up a sustained rate of fire. In fact, the weapon is so managable that units equipped with SAWs often use them in MOUT operations, they even have a role in room clearing.  And forget the sterotype that only the largest soldiers are fit to hump machine guns. While that may be the case for the M240, the M249 is as omminous as M16s. The key idea is light machine gun.  Its a niche the weapon fills amply.  That said, I have never had to fight the recoil of the SAW when it was employed properly. Finally, remember that most US weapons are noted for their minimal recoil.  The M16, M249 SAW, and M240B all have relatively large buffer springs which absorb the recoil.  And like Heavy Metal,  I am speaking from military experiance.

    Combat! bradley pack 1.0 released

Have you considered making a script to model the moving missle pods on the Bradley/Linebacker. For instance, the M2 and M3 cannot fire their missle weapons while moving, so the missles pod is stowed by pivoting into a position next to the turret. Can you write a script which allows the missles to only function when the M2/M3 is halted and the pod is up?

    Realistic briefing

The US Army uses two different types of written briefing formats for issuing orders.  The first is the Warning Order, or WARNO.  Its short enough to give leaders enough information to make a tentative plan before the real order, the Operations Order, or OPORD comes thru. The both the WARNO and theOPORD has 5 paragraphs: Situation, Mission, Execution, Command and Signal, and Service and Support.  Below is an WARNO for an exercise my platoon and I conducted earlier: ----- <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> WARNING ORDER References: Time Zone Used throughout the Order: Task Organization: 1.
