I really enjoy DOD:S as well. I think it modifies CS:S gamplay significantly. The various roles you play and the weapons associated with these roles seem balanced and there is more of a team effort than CS which feels like simply a bunch of individuals acting at once rather than together. The fact that you have to capture objectives, that MG's are useless until "deployed" (and therefore making you vulnerable) are all very appealing. Sounds are great, action is continuous. It's no simulator but it could teach us Flashpoint players a bit more about teamwork in fast and furious situations. Had a great game last night in which it all just gel-ed together for our team. Snipers and MG's would clear an approach for the Assault guys. When they captured a position the MG's would move up to hold the new territory with snipers covering them. It was the first time I felt like some seasoned verterans were on there. We were able to capture enemy territory in a matter of minutes. Very cool :-)

My favourite game was one which you controlled a helicopter and if you had a buddy he could control a jeep on the ground. It was a side scroller type game...can't remember the name :-( I also like FA-18 interceptor and a game called Z from the Bitmap Brothers.....and another Rollerball type game from the Bitmap Brothers.

Read the first couple of pages. Not bad...I must say. Quite a lot of effort has gone into this. I am curious. How are the sales going? Published on Lulu before?

Just curious if any Windows users have made the switch. I bought one last year (iMac G5 20") and have enjoyed the trouble environment and wealth of more professional looking design tools available for it. 100% switching is out of the question because, let's face it, as cool as they are they SUCK at gaming with only a few top tier titles making it to OS X. But I am interested in the community's attitude to Apple Macs and their other products.

Have you tried (if possible) plugging your monitor into a non DVI plug in the card (does it have 2 ports VGA/DVI?)

There ya go...nice find on the pics. I knew they had some. The Navy paints SH-60s to look like Russian helos as well at Top Gun. I have pics of that somewhere as well.

I'll see what I can do.....no promises though!!! If it does get released...it will require a reasonable amount of work to get it up to speed. I would prefer to see an established addon maker with texturing experience (vehicle texturing) take it on.

Excatly. I think a thread like that would help a lot of people out. It just has to be managed carefully so that there aren't any flame wars about who's selection is better. As mentioned in last thread...simply state why you made the hardware choices you did (your justification) and let people decide for themselves without long discussion on why AMD is better than Intel, etc. Keep it simple and clean.

We(America) might hand out obsolete small-arms by the box full, but we don't sell multi-million dollar weapon systems to just anybody. It's not like we just tossed a Javelin to Afghani Rebels or handed some third-world nobody the keys to our Abrams. We don't even handle obsolete aircraft that liberally, much less the weapons that go on them. We also don't hand off weapons like that to someone who could easily end up as our enemy(READ: Unstable Governments). Judging by the hands we've seen Exosets in, the French Army is likely going to end up fighting it's own state of the art equipment someday. ROFLMAO. Yeah...I know exactly what you mean. No F-14s to Iran, no Stingers to Afghanistan....no F-16s to Indonesia..... Only boxes of old Springfields from WW2.

Yes...slightly misleading post as it does not seem to refer to a passenger plane like the A380 at all. Mildly interesting though. The wing design looks interesting.

I wonder if this is a good idea the mods mights support. How about a sticky thread called "Ultimate OFP Gaming Rig" or something. In it we keep an up to date "ultimate rig" (one AMD and one Intel) with the best components available....a dream rig. This way people could refer to it instead of posting questions. I for one have also lost touch with hardware and still dont know if PCIe is better than AGP. But if some knowledgeable person from here posted that it should be in the "ultimate rig" then I would purchase it. Rules: - No case specifications necessary. Only components includes makers of MB's, memory, GFX cards. - Keep the thread relatively clean with simply posts on an update to the Ultimate Rig....with perhaps some text justifying the selection of certain components. -Avoid debates over peoples selections...let the reader decide on posted rigs based on justification of component selection provided in the post. Good idea? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?
