Hueys were not used at all by the US Army in Somalia. They used Kiowas for surveilance, and Blackhawks for all the other tasks. That picture is of the C2 bird that is meant to be a Blackhawk, but because they didnt get the BH's until 3 months into filming, they had to shoot some scenes like that, and hope that people wouldn't notice the difference... And yes, the horror, (I'm a self confessed aircraft/helicopter lover) and I nearly died when I saw the "making of BHD" for the first tie, and he said they might have had to use hueys... Actually Deadmeat you are incorrect, the US Army did use UH-1's in Somalia for the Dustoff role. If you meant they were not used by Task Force Ranger during Operation Gothic Serpeant then you are right. But the Huey was used by regular Army units from 1992-1994, Here are pics of US Army Huey's in Somalia in Sept of 93. On topic, I saw the pics of the Pavehawks and was wondering if you are going to move and modify the weather radar on the nose and off set it like on the real deal??? *EDIT* Ok, I think I see what you are doing, you are making the Block 152-162 H\MH-60G's right? George Actually Bravo...we aren't modelling a Block 152...although I would love to....a number of Pavies (around 26 I believe) had their radars moved to the nose similiar to the MH-60Ls but this was not designated a Block 152 change. The block 152 radar mount is very different (similiar to the MH-60K) and also incorporates a whole suite of avionics changes that make the HH-60G into a "glass cockpit" configuration....also not unlike the MH-60K. Unfortunately the Block 152 program was cancelled....I suspect the Air Force will start modifying the K in the future for their needs. The 152 program has created spin offs such as new mounts for 50cals in the gunner windows and some sensor improvements that are being retrofitted to current Pavies.

There is nothing better for research than a good, reliable book (i.e. the "Janes" series of recognition and information guides) Nothing beats thourgh research  He he he....I used tio believe that too DM...until I saw an MH-60L from the SOAR CAPEX demonstration labelled a MH-60K. It was quite shocking for Janes....and they still haven't corrected the mistake I believe. Moral of the story...don't believe everything you are told gents....do your own research to verify the facts.

No to 3rd party addons on the island. As for enterable buildings....some will be enterable but in the cities most are not to save on complexity of the models...which leads to more buildings in one place for less lag. BTW...Fubar...when did you sell out to the "man"

Thanks for the comments Gatordev.....the good news is that I think BIS has better physics planned for helos in OFP2....so we may see a quasi helo sim in the next version yet. I know that Suma is a big flight sim fan :-)
