Doom II crashes in the 'Monster Condo' map with legacy for me

AFAIK a lot of effort has been put in to HL2 to make the characters look real. Not just by adding polygons and sharp textures, but ie. the way eyes move and look like. Looks very good IMO

Me and my friends and the other people I hang out with don't give a fuck about bullshit like 'status'. Dunno if it's that important in Finland at all. You should never live just to please others. And that's exactly what status is about. Showing others that you are something and literally begging for acceptance, praise and 'friends'. It's pathetic and shows lack of character. Be yourself. If others don't like the way you are then fuck them. You're sure to find friends that are for real and not just because you have cool clothes and know how to kiss ass.

Kung fu is not a sport, nor is it for show, or just for fitness. Wushu on the other hand, is for sport and show. But styles like Tai Shin Mun which are traditional kung fu are another thing. No competition, no shows no nothing. It doesn't even have any ranks except for student, teacher, teacher's teacher and grandmaster. There is no 'horseshit' as someone so kindly put it. How can you think that something that has survived for 3000-4000 years is horseshit? The training may seem silly, but it all has a purpose and will eventually make you a stronger and a better fighter. You just can't master the art of kung fu in a few months. You will never learn if you don't train seriously and work for it. You also have to open your mind and understand the philosophy that comes with the training. It's not just the body, the mind is just as important if not the most important.

Kung Fu has loads of weapons. Or you could try Iaido which is all swords and knives.

Both my brothers have trained martial arts for years. And I like it too. It was about 5-6 years ago when I trained Shotokan Karate Do for a year, then I quit. Now, three months ago, I started training Tai Shin Mun Kung Fu. Pure monkeh style. Noone I've met has ever heard of it. Only 6 schools in the world (Malaysia, Germany and Finland) and a little over 300 practisioners world wide. (There are some minor groups in Britain and China at least, but they don't count as schools) I couldn't imagine my Si Fu in a match like that. It's just not what Tai Shin Mun is about, if you know what I mean. He was your kickboxing Si Fu? And Bruce Lee is the best, Van Damme isn't nowhere near that cool.

Ah, yes. I've seen that movie two times on TV. Liked it very much, and excellent movie. It's been a while since the last time though. I wonder when they'll show it again.

I got a gmail invite today from someone who I don't actually know, he was handing them out in IRC. I should start giving my address to my friends and other places where I get my current mail from to test it. And as to that 'spying' done by google, at least the ads are picked by a computer, no humans doing it. Don't know about anything else, I haven't checked it out that closely yet. And from what I've heard they're pretty much done with the thing. The reason why ppl still get in only through invites is that they want to slowly increase the load and see that it can handle it.

If I had OFP installed I'd check what these guys can do. But I don't! So what can they excactly do? I'm out of discspace and getting some more will take time, and I'm just interested if these samurai and ninjas really know how to fight?

So far Gladiator has the best music I've heard. The Band of Brothers theme music was great also. It fitted perfectly to the opening scene. When talking about military music in general, not just in movies, then the USSR national anthem is just great. Not as good as the finnish Jaegermarch though.

I'd use headphones if I had one. My speakers have a great sound quality, and I also have a subwoofer. (Which annoys my parents because they hear only the bass when my door is closed, not the rest of the music) Also the 4 speakers and 3D sound make it quite easy to determin the direction of the sound. Though I'm going to buy good headphones today. Good quality headphones beat the crap out of speakers, especially in games.
