    Tanks against choppers

I find it interesting that AI tank enemys never shoot at your helicopter, yet the sabot is quite an effective anti-chopper weapon in your own hands (better IMHO than, say, a Vulcan). I realize that the game could be too hard if enemy tanks could shoot at you in the air, but how does it work in the real world? Are tank sabots and heats used against aircraft? The only obvious disadvantage I can see in the game is the limited vertical field of fire compared to Shilkas and Vulcans. Any input on this?

STGN<span id='postcolor'> No, of course it's impossible, but if the die-retry cycle is repeated too much it becames a bit silly sometimes. I'm not saying OFp is a badly designed or too unrealistic game, but on some missions, I retried way too many times (maybe it was just me?). Of course, in a real war, nobody would survive a 40 mission campaign like David Armstrong and his buddies. People die, and to win the war, replacements are called for and new missions are set up. Games have to be a bit different to be enjoyable. There's also fun to be had in retrying -- in a real war, when you've died, you never know if the "other way" would have been better.

    Volkswagen beetle

I think it would be a really cool and realistic unit (in that millions have been made and it's common all over the world, including war zones) alongside the Trabant and other cars in OFp. Anyone seen one or thought about making one? Perhaps the original OFp red/blue/green/yellow car sound can be edited to make it sound more like an old air cooled beetle.

    Bomb planes?

Thanks for the information! Miles -- do you have a URL for the B52 bomber? I'm keen to experiment a little bit myself, though I'm a beginner at mission editing.

    Bomb planes?

Maybe it has been done before, but I couldn't find anything using the search forum function. I'm interested in seeing addons with bomb planes that drop regular (falling) bombs, not just rockets and missiles. A Flying Fortress or a Stuka would be really cool, or maybe a Vietnam era bomb plane or helicopter. If there's already any such addons available, I'm very interested in hearing about them. Thanks! /Henrik

  7. OK, I've taken the refuel truck at the fuel base and destroyed the aircraft at the airbase. So far so good ... dang hard, but not that hard. Then, after around 10,000 tries I finally manage to destroy the first vulcan and the three tanks in the first convoy, rescue Nicolai Team, and then destroy the next vulcan and another two tanks. (By now you figure that you should get another Update Retry Position, but no! ) Suddenly my ammo's out, and going to the extraction zone or leaving the island does nothing. Appearently I have to kill all tanks or wait until they reach the lighthouse (which they don't seem to do at all, maybe because I already killed two out of three and wreaked havoc around them?). I find no way to get more ammo for my chopper but the mission seems impossible to end without it. So for the 10,001st time, I'll have to start all over again with the first vulcan and tank convoy............. Â Any tips? Thanks in advance! /Henrik
