After a couple of hours of searching the net for informations around Hinds again (Maa, knows why I write "again" ) I got some new infos and I think I put the puzzle together. Ok, here're the informations I gathered. Please note that not all sources say the same! Even some people who worked with the thing simply don't know, remember or mix up some things. Mi-24D: First version with the new seperated "capsuled" cockpit and the 12,7mm cannon mounted in a nose-turret. Some sources say it was already equipped with IR-jammer and flarelaunchers. I think the models that left the factory never had an IR-jammer installed. In my opinion this is maybe a later upgrade or the people simply think the "ASO-2V" flare dispensers (mounted under the tailboom) also work as IR-jammer, which is simply wrong. "ASO-2V" flare dispenders (old version - mounted under the tailboom) Mi-24V: An upgraded "D" version. The first models had only the "ASO-2V" flare dispenders mounted while the later versions were already equipped with the L-166V-11E "Ispanka" or SOEP-V1A "Lipa" IR-jammer mounted above forward end of the tailboom/under the back of the main-rotor. All versions that can be equipped with the IR-jammers have an additional mounting to fit the "flower pot" to the hull. empty mounting platform mounted L-166V-11E "Ispanka" Mi-24P: A new version with the 30mm twin-cannon (GSh-30-2 - nickname "Pushka" (=cannon)) mounted on the rightside of the fronthull. Already equipped with the new "ASO-V2" and one of the jammers. I think with this version the "ASO-V2" flare dispenders were positioned in new cases behind the wings and were not longer mounted under the tailboom. Additional the size of each case was raised so each side countained now three lines of launchers (6x32 = 192 flares total) instead of only two lines (4x32 = 128 flares total) like in the old version under the tailboom. "ASO-2V" flare dispenders (new version - mounted in boxes behind wings) Additional: ASO-V2 flare dispenders - 32 flares in 2 lines each package SOEP-V1A "Lipa" - IR-jammer (*) L-166V-11E "Ispanka" - IR-jammer (*) *...microwave pulse lamp "Hot Brick"...projects a hot point above the helicopter which IR-guided rockets should aim at instead of the hot exhaust-gases or engine. The L-166 was/is the more common used IR-jammer. You can see the diffrence from the SOEP-V1A by their cases. The L-166 has a round case-top while the SOEP-V1A is more looking like a tin/can. ------------- Concerning the "old" and upcomming CSLA Mi-24s. I can understand that you don't want to keep such an eye on "Tiger Meet" helicopters and want to reflect some more combat related stuff. In this case I think the existing white Mi-24 could be "deleted" because it's really to special. The blue one is looking really cool but I can understnad that it's also to special and has to make place for a new one. But please don't delete the "normal" Mi-24V completly! I really like the camo-sheme and the marking. Instead you could only remove the "tiger" markings...this would fit perfectly to the Nogovan environment. Ok, looking forward to see the new upgrade and especially the new choppers ingame. Greetz Plage

Mi-26 "Halo" and soviet pilot pack relased
T.S.C.Plage replied to DPS -CCCP-'s topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Nice addon and lots of cool features! The handling is not that good (with mouse or even joystick). But that's maybe a problem of a chopper of this size (in OFP) and can't be improved (?). Anyways, am I the onyl one who has problems with the sound of the tailrotor? For me it's interrupted and not really looped. Greetz Plage -
@ Cpt. FrostBite: Oh, you're right the "new" ones shown on the page have the old IR-Jammer under the tail and no flarelaunchers mounted. The new jammer and the flares came with the Mi-24P (if I'm not wrong) and were later also integrated in some of the D and V versions. ---------- But I've another question. Do the "new" Hinds replace/overwrite any of the "old" already released ones? Greetz Plage
-
Hello, just a short question. Is it possible to add an "IR-Jammer/auto-flares" script to your nice choppers within the upcomming release? This is something I'm really missing especially on the Mi-24s. Greetz Plage

Falklands Mod Westland Lynx AH 1 (TOW) BETA
T.S.C.Plage replied to -Ash-'s topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Indeed a very nice addon. Just some small fixes and it's perfect! Nothing else to say...only that I hope the rest of the "Falklands" addons will also rock like this. Greetz Plage -

I heard some rumors that the USAF is interested to get some for CSAR. Maybe Lockheed Martin gets a contract to assemble some NH-90s in the closer future to fit all these american laws about imported weaponsystems and stuff. Anyways this addon is really nice. It still needs some tweaking but the mainpart is done very well and it's good to have this chopper in OFP now. Sad is that AfrographX is leaving...thought we would see a CH-53GS from him after this one. Greetz Plage

Sounds good for me...and great you could fix the third bug I mentioned. Greetz Plage

Google for the names of the towns on Nogova and you'll find real ones in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. I also know that because "Blazena" should be a Czech petrol-company if I'm not completly wrong. Anyways everything written on the island is written in Czech so it's some kind of obvious. Greetz Plage
-
I know that but they only took the geologic landmarks of these islands. I think it wasn't their intention to build mediterran looking islands for OFP. Of course Nogova looks more like an area in the former "Warsaw Pakt" states then "Adriatic". Greetz Plage
-
How the hell you come to the idea Nogova is somewhere in the Adria(tic) region!?! Greetz Plage
-
Did I wrote US$, € or Pounds (sorry, the sign for the last is missing on my keyboard)? Anyways you didn't read the small lines the star "*" behind the prices refers to. It says "half price for OFP-Mommies and one kid under the age of 6 years for free". Greetz Plage
-
Just some ideas/thoughts... First is a civilian Mi-8 included in the CSLA2-Mod and last is the already mentioned Be-32. Don't open another new airline...Nogova has defnitly enough now. Greetz Plage

Really nice work (also with the Phantoms)!!! But I noticed a small bug. The F-14 from "VF-84" has "VF-103" markings on the lower backfins. And a question...why didn't you kept the original "modern" painting from Footmunch's F-14 in the addon? Would be nice to have it available, too. Greetz Plage

I downloaded v1.1 and it looks good so far...no CDT or other problems. But I found some bugs and made some screenshots... 1. "Shining" effect is missing on mainpart of left wing (green and grey model). 2. Still a bug in the "USAF" marking on the left side. 3. "Loadout" is still looking through the airbrakes if pulled. Maybe it's possible to move the mounts or the loadout itself a little more to the front of the wings? But maybe also the airbrake-flaps should be shortened a little so they open from a point a little more backward on the wing. Greetz Plage

Hey Diesel, a very nice Addon and great addition to the OFP air. I didn't read the whole thread and maybe didn't have the last version but I want to point your eyes on some smaller bugs I found so far...if you already now them beat me. - Sidewinders are looking "through" the braking-flaps if pulled - GAU has no muzzleflash (or not a "representive" one) - I don't know what it is but the marked part on the wing is on the other side in your modell...pic. The other stuff was mentioned already. --------------- Click screen for higher res...1024x580 I've a mission with the A-10 ready. It just needs some final fixes to fit to the finalversion of "Mapfact - Nogova" and should be released shortly after the island. Greetz Plage

The island itself is finished about 95% but there're still some things that have to be done...like reworking the configs and some textures, creating new "intros" and of course there has to be a phase of beta-testing to make sure there're really no bugs in it. I'm also waiting on a fixed and upgraded version of LMS "MilObject-Pack". Greetz Plage

Thanks for the praise! @ hardrock: Are you asking because there're units placed on it on the screenshot? If so for the screens I just "setposed" them 5m above the ground and they "fall" on top of the pier. But I just checked what happens if you place waypoints on the piers because you asked. For normal soldiers it works and they're moving to their WP like it's normal ground but vehicles make a turn around the concrete piers and drive into the sea. /edit: And yes, they also mount the boats but the doesn't looks very good. I guess you can make it better looking with more WPs but I didn't tested it that "precise". /edit2: No, they don't give you a "negative". Worst case is that they leave the dock and move into the water from normal ground. As you know they can walk "under water" for a couple of time so they'll always reach the boat but as mentioned without any tricks it doesn't looks very good. Greetz Plage
