    How do I disable the jerrycans in vehicles? We experience some issues with a great amount of jerrycans being spawned and would like to disable this feature to test if it causes ACE menu lag. Thanks in advance!

    We had the same issue, too. Only a few report this behaviour. The menu looks different and interaction with explosives does not work. We disabled PO2 to test if a module from MSO caused the issue. If you could check that on the server (if possible) this might help the devs to find the cause of this issue. With the current build of our MSO we do not have the issue with PO2 enabled.

    Gidday highhead, we use Lingor and only saw the heap of jerrycans because a player was accidentally spawned there. Not sure if there is something similar on Takistan as we did not run further tests. Thanks for the help! Btw, the new additions are really great. The task manager is quite a nice feature. Did not find out how to delete the marker if the task was removed, though.

    Not sure if this is a new MSO + PDB issue with ACE: In sector 000 000 there is a stack of tyres and jerry cans. With Object storing on in the DB settings, we had a pile of over a hundred of jerry cans after some time of play. We tested that and it is linked to the object store setting. As far as I can tell ACE does not "store" the jerrycans/tyres under the car now and every vehicle gets a duplicate of the tyre/jerrycan from the dump sector. However, when the car is stored it also saves the "items" it has. Since the jerry can is not an actual item in the inventory of the car, it is saved as an object over and over again. Another question would be: how can I change the grid type appearance of the cities? It's rather difficult to read grid coordinates with the grid, I'd prefer a solid colour or just a "ring" around the area in the specific colour. Thanks in advance!

    Hey highhead, thanks for the answer. All playable characters are Sgt. and higher in rank, still on respawn we are cloned. Seems to happen only once (if the AI dies, no replacement is spawned). Thanks for the info about the HUMINT. We disabled the civilian HUMINT, so the sector has to be scouted to know about enemy presence. Another issue we encountered with the PDB: we have a player with a ArmA <Anniversary edition, which has an alphanumeric player ID [...]AX, which is not saved to the DB. Is this a known issue (already fixed in the 4.5 version) or is this a new bug?

    Hello gentlemen, quick questions on a Sunday morning: 1.) where can I find an up-to-date classlist for the current RC of ACE? The config browser does not list the new additions. I need the class names of everything that is in ace2 at the moment. Any script that writes those items into a file (rpt for example)? 2.) is it possible to make the SOFLAM on the tripod work as the handheld item? As a JTAC/FAC it is pretty difficult to guide a plane on target, if you can only look through the optic to have the laser work. As soon as I turn my head with laser on, it overheats (or go into the map view). Thanks in advance, gents!

    Hey highhead, first of all, good job on pushing on the next MSO build. I have two questions I don't feel like adding tickets for (yet). 1.: why are players "cloned" by friendly AI (recruitment/team status deactivated, only AI as base defense), sometimes on death, sometimes out of thin air? 2.: is there a way to make secured towns (blue) last for a time x before it can be recapped by enemy forces and restrict ZORA and enemypop to spawn in the secured area? We play in a small unit and it's kind of frustrating to recap the same area just after it has been cleared. The issue with the bugged ACE/MSO menu seems fixed for me, I only had it on a stock Takistan MSO, some of our players experience the issue from time to time. Not sure what could cause it. Just wanted to let you know if you still are trying to figure it out. What would be the best way of making a custom filled ammo/weapons box? I am no scripter, so I just added the stuff into empty weapon crates, but somehow players that put weapons in can't seem to retake them. Maybe it's a database issue, but you might have a better idea especially with the resupply script. Are there plans to include Lingor units into PO2? Enemy Populator uses them, but PO2 is unable to deal with them.

    OT: You don't happen to be Quakecry from MP.net? There are splints for the medic, but don't know if medics can actually use them (like plasma, IV bag and the other medic stuff)
  10. @Heaney: When TS3 crashed on me, I could still see the PTT notification for the radio, but do not hear the squawk. Am unable to open TS3, only way is to use the task manager.
  11. Hey Nou, since version 1.4.8 my TS3 64bit client is getting unresponsive quite often. Not sure if that is related to acre volume or the new ts3 features (like mono to surround). I have to force close ts3 with the task manager and can't see any rpt log entry. Will try without st_acre_volume to check if that causes the constant hang ups of ts3 which is quite annoying as a TL.

    We used a stock MSO mission for Takistan (ACE version) for the test. We now use a modified mission without PO2 and it seems to work (only MySQL is not working atm).

    After deactivating all modules and switching them on one by one in the config, the cause for the "different" ACE menu was the PatrolOps module. Wonder why nobody else has that problem?

    I've been testing the ACE/MSO menu issue with a stock MSO and different modules activated/deactivated in-game. Seems like the menu bug only happens after the hint text on the right side (after initializing the MSO modules) appears. The ACE menu starts with entries like AAR, CAS/CASEVAC and so on and is on the original ACE color scheme (light green top row and dark green background). After the hint message window a toggle will pop up the "new" menu without background for the ACE Player / Equipment line and without background for the buttons (now with round corners). I am not sure if the server load is the issue, because we had a session with no params changed from stock MSO and most people had the correct menu. I am not a server guy, but could someone post a working config and parameters for Takistan and/or CLAfghan? How to deactivate the debug console in MSO? the parameter does nothing (should be disabled by default) And probably not related to MSO, has anyone encountered suicide bombers/VIEDs lately? Seems to be bugged. Thanks in advance for the help, much appreciated!

    @Slendermang: Are you talking about the "wrong player name" in ACE Clippi or something different? I can use goggles and all. The background of the ACE menu is correct for interaction with objects, but the self/equipment interaction looks different and interaction with placed mines/satchels/sandbags does no longer work. I am not sure about the compatibility of the MSO mission, though. I am not involved in the actual mission development (only the loadouts and weapons related issues). I read that R3F revive and extended armor have to be off for reviving with ACE wounds to work properly. There are many (stock) modules that also use the ace self interaction menu. Guess we have to disable all modules and see if that works.

    A strange but consistent bug occurs with MSO 4.4. As soon as the background for the self interaction menu disappears (round corners, unlike the rectangular ace menu) we cannot use ace items anymore (explosives, sandsacks...) tried to disable the R3F logistics system, but did not solve the issue. Someone posted something similar some pages ago, but there was no solution. I am not the server tech and can't tell you what the setup looks like. Some players said they still have the dark green ace menu background and are able to use explosives et cetera, but most of the players can not. I tried to find a proper documentation for setting up MSO, but there is none. The "manual" for players and editiors is not really a knowledgebase and there is no guide for proper setup. Hope you guys can help my pals and me to solve this issue as we are not the only ones it seems.

    But you are aware that those cooked off projectiles are by far not as dangerous as chambered rounds? Otherwise we would not be allowed to transport up to 50kg without a fire extinguisher in our cars :D And the hull of the wreck will hold off most of the cooked off rounds, since they do not have the energy of penetrating the vehicle. The sounds are nice, but I doubt small arms ammunition will detonate after such a long time. The ignition temperature is rather low taken into account that the vehicle burns with several hundred if not a thousand centigrade.
  18. I know this topic has been up many times. I always had a working squad logo until some days ago. Since I changed the logo (used GIMP) it does not show up, the web profile works like a charm (always has) but the logo only shows up if I use a .jpg. I do not run with -profiles so this can't be the issue. If I make the picture read-only it shows up (only local though) but it is not downloaded from the web host for everyone to see. http://macssog.kilu.de/squad/ <- everything I uploaded so if any of you could help me fix this issue I'd really appreciate it. I use SixUpdater and ACE, but neither the SU nor my batch file to launch ArmA2 OA /ACE2 make a difference. A friend used photoshop and I gave him the .paa plugin, but I read this could cause crashes, but neither texview2 nor the game were able to read that file. Someone said it showed up with a white border. But even a working logo by other teams do not show up for me. Could that be a change in the web host file policy I am not aware of? Or a network issue from web host to the clients? Help me out, please, I go insane over this little piece of pixels here! Thanks in advance, anyhow! UPDATE: Seems to be the web host (kilu.de) that has changed. Created a webs.com page and it works again. /closed

    "cold/hot bore shots" are only an issue for non free floating barrels. There is no such thing as POI shift with good rifles. It's the shooter that is "cold" as in not relaxed. @Odium: first of all, the wind changes must be toned down dramatically. The number of changes per minute is ridiculous. In a storm I can live with gusts, but not on a bright, sunny day. Factors to consider for long range shots I experienced myself: Temperature, powder temperature, wind, humidity, barometric pressure, (density altitude), spin drift and coriolis effect by latitude/azimuth. And because of all the factors and my poor math, I use a ballistic calculator for my shots, reading my Kestrel data via bluetooth. A feature I'd really like to see is mirage, not just for the environment, but also for heated up barrels. When using a scope, you will see the mirage from your barrel. That would stop those pseudo- "snipers" from M107 spamming.

    The artillery seems bugged. Before the latest update, I was able to actually hit the target, now with the collimator and the reset shown instead of azimuth, the gun is off target if correctly aligned with the collimator. And I always have an issue shifting the gun via the action menu. I get stuck and can't even quit the game (have to force close in the task manager). The roation with the CSW menu is the only option that works but is unprecise. Did not find any bug report about that, so maybe something is wron on my end.

    I don't have a crappy PC, FX-55, GeForce 7800 GTX, 1 Gig of Corsair XLPro. @ anthonyl: Read the bloody readme, dude ! @ wolfsblut: If you try to help, put it right in the first place, you could quote the readme as a start... @ TrunkzJr: If you could use the addon as it should be used, it would help alot. In the new version, the M16 burst is way better. @ Törni: I hope you don't want to modify my mod.... @ colligpip: I simply don't play ArmA at the moment, nor do I play other games.

    It's not about the sounds. It is the config. I don't play the games I modify, and I modify games the way I want them to be like. I never worked for others, don't even know if I could be part of a team. Everything is pretty much egocentric. At the moment, I don't play much at all. My speaker system is broken and I don't have the PC to play ArmA with good performance, so it is not really fun for me. Don't know when I will continue on the project (the sound-only version is just the waste dump for the masses).
