It's real, and it's in fact the civilian version of the Chinese Type 56 (it's semi-auto only)

Heh, recently I started having some similar problems, though not just in IL-2FB - OFP, Lo-Mac, you name it. Anything and everything would crash. I undid all my overclocking, and it helped a bit, but didn't fix the problem fully. I even had a lot of grief with schoolwork (Had to recompile the Linux source code for a class and all of a sudden I'm getting errors that have nothing to do with the code I modified...bang my head against it for days, and eventually try reinstalling Linux altogether, and recompiling the source code with no modifications....and still got those errors....) So in the end I just figured my old PIII was telling me it was ready to kick the bucket after being run overclocked for close to three years, bit the bullet, and got myself a new mobo and CPU.

well, I for one didn't even know about it until I sat down to the evening news bemoaning the poor attendance.

If anything I'd get it for my computer, but for now regular DVD-5's work fine for backups and photo storage and such. Just remember Bill Gates once said no one would need more than 640kb of RAM. DVD players are anything but expensive these days - I have one that was $50, and one that came free with the purchase of a bed. I'm sure that after HD-DVD or Blu_Ray are out a couple of years, the same will happen with their players.
-
From what I understand, they still use different lazer frequencies and material. I definitely wouldn't count a combo drive out, even if it was more expensive to produce than today's DVD combo drives. Anyways, Sony does not have a good record when it comes to media - Betamax, Memory Stick, and even DVD+R's (which aren't compatible with as many players as DVD-R's) so I'd prefer to stick to the DVD Forum sanctioned media.
-
Just buy a drive that supports both. When I went to buy a DVD burner I made sure it could use DVD+R's and DVD-R's, and I buy whatever media is cheapest at the moment.

Some stuff here: http://www.deltahawks.com/classic/Comms/RealComms.shtml Cuban MiG-29, MiG-23 and GCI during shoot down of the Brothers to the Rescue planes: http://www.hermanos.org/feb24/el%20derribo.wma *edit* This is what you hear in the Cuban audio link...edited by me to match the sound file since none of the transcripts online match it perfectly (edited audio file?):

Atention! To turn (open) pull lever towards yourself when finished, release lever and re-attach (To clarify, the "B4" is not part of the sentence) *edit again* Now that I think twice about it, I don't think that's a number 4 at all, but the Russian "CH"...so that part that doesn't fit in the sentence, translated letter by letter would be VCH

Sweet! You can bet I'll give this a try

I noticed our younger cat playing with a christmas ornament, and later I joined in the fun:

Nope, found a suitable pic on google image search, resized it to 128x128, uploaded it to my webspace, and pointed the phone's browser in it's direction. Clicked save, and voila! new wallpaper without the $1.50 charge . Nope, you guys in the U.S. actually have better firmware for these phones. In the States, this exact same model phone has a movie mode for it's camera, and a couple more utilities. I've already found a few ways to "hack" this phone a bit, but I doubt it's possible to flash the firmware on it. Dammit

This was my little birthday/christmas present for myself, quite guilt free since it was absolutely free and with a free year of airtime, and all that was required of me was to dump an amazingly bad cell company for a potentially better one. The new and the old:

Part of a late Christmas present for my stepdad: 158 kb (He's just coming back today from taking care of a family emergency in Cuba). This is going on the outside of a wooden photo album in the form of a treasure chest.

Nope, they have T-80's. Also, Pakistan, Ukraine, and even South Korea field them

Just stumbled upon this: It's an ejection seat simulator. Kinda nifty. Includes most modern ejection seats and aircraft that use them, though you can experiment by putting a K-36D in an A-10, or even change the specs for a seat. It even comes with some scenarios such as the 1989 Paris Air Show MiG-29 crash, or the death of the first F-14 female pilot (though the SU-30 is subsituted for the F-14 model) Download Here

It's a boring "game" precisely because it isn't meant to be a game.

What I find interesting is how different seats perform in different situations in this sim. In the scenario with the SU-30 (representing an F-14) looses an engine and begins rolling at low altitude and low speed, when equipped with the GRU-7 seat (which the F-14 has), the pilot impacts the water at 99 knots. Change the seat to an MK-14, and then the pilot impacts the water at around 11 knots. Aces II comes in at 15 knots, and the S3S at around 20 knots. Interestingly enough, the K-36D performs worst of all in this scenario, causing impact with the water at around 115 knots. Change the plane to an F-111 in this scenario, and the capsule impacts the water at about 25 knots. Now take the MiG-29 paris 1989 crash, where much the same thing happened, only at slightly higher altitude, and the ejection took place later when the plane was in an 80 degree dive . In the sim, the K-36D causes ground impact at around 20 knots. Change the plane to an F-111, and the capsule drives into the ground at  around 140 knots
