There's a book called Fulcrum by a soviet MiG-29 pilot who defected, It's an account of his defection and the reasons why he did, pretty good reading.

I remember that game and I loved it. Nothing like Buzzing a chinese Su-27 or firing warning shots between two Iranian MiG-29's. Every mission where you had to intercept bogeys, you didn't know if the engagement would turn "hot" or not, many times you just buzzed e'm, fired warning shots and they'd go home, or just fly wherever they were going and not threaten any friendlies...or you'd see them break off in different directions and turn towards you and then you knew you were in for a dogfight . Toughest part was following the ROE. I remember loosing a campaign because my idiot wingman took it upon himself to down an Iranian Jetliner Wish there were more games like this, never seen one like it since

Taken from The Offspring's "Conspiracy of One" CD Booklet: AH THE GOOD OLD DAYS Two men, from opposite sides, bound together by a siamese ripcord thethered to their souls. Who will pull first, knowing that it will destroy them both? NOWADAYS One man, from opposite sides, struggles to keep the dangling ripcord from the reach of a little man who does not hesitate to pull, knowing that the falling carcass will destroy them both. How true

Normal infantry might not carry sidearms but other units do, for example SpetzNatz carried P-6 silenced handguns, especially when doing paradrops since the AK's had to be strapped back so they would not interfeere with the chute, and they did not want to be left defenceless at any point during the landing.

*shudder* Nice to know WWIII could now be started by the Godfather

Ohhh I see....COOOL!!! They have Chia Pets! in OFP now!!! I wanna grow the Bunny!! Â *edit* Hmmm...I just took a close second look at those pictures and came up with a second theory.... Could it be that perhaps they've added THIS to OFP??

insted of being able to just roll in and heard them like sheep. if you read about the theoretical invastion plans of the US by the Soviet Union (cold war days)  armed US citizens were considered by the Soviets to be a MAJOR threat.. becuase if every citizen with a firearm chose to fight they estimated between 500,000 and 2,000,000 extra sivuet army casualties just from US citizens.. and armed populace that doesent like you is no small challenge..<span id='postcolor'> Granted, but no gun-control laws for the jews would mean no gun control laws for the non-jewish, Nazi-brainwashed Germans as well. What do you think they would do if the jews, which were a small minority, fought back? Well, the Nazi media would have called them "terrorists", and every SS-wannabe with a pea shooter and itchy trigger finger would have used them as target practice, as well as the German regulars. I'm not trying to state my views on gun control, I'm pretty impartial in that issue. What I'm trying to say is, unlike some people want us to believe, it would have made no difference to German Jews in WW2 wether they had a shotgun or hunting rifle or not.
