..I asked some guy to take off his pants so I could slam the door against his balls,as I had found that I could calculate the potential energy (PE) that would transferred to his balls by the kinetic energy of the door (KE), by finding the spring constant "K" of his balls as they compressed, by plotting a graph of the weight of the door affecting his balls vs. their rate of compression, and measuring the velocity at which his balls flew back such as PE=1/2(Kv^2), and KE=1/2(mv^2), where PE=KE before the door hit his balls... Guess who's staying up all night writting up a physics lab

Ok...in the past two days I've experienced possibly the worst three kinds of n00b to have as your teammate in a CTF game. Here they are: 1 - in a 2vs2 CTF: He flies into the enemy safe zone, the map kills him, and he spends the remaining 20 minutes of the game accusing you of being a TKer because it told him "friendly fire". 2 - Somehow manages to run over every single ammo crate in your base with his BMP 3 - another 2vs2 CTF: He gets more kills on you than the enemy team does, and you are the ONLY one he kills for the duration of the entire game

M82a1 heavy sniper riffle (barret)

I started off by disabling it's turret as it began tracking me...took me 4-5 shots and the turret was black....good. I ran towards it and then the BMP started driving away. 3 more shots to the body of it and it stopped....so I walked up to it and was surprized to find I had the option of getting in...yep, I had killed the whole crew. I had expected to kill the gunner and maybe the commander because of their positions in the turret, but the driver was a surprize. BTW it took 12 shots to destroy completely. Ah and my overall impression of this rifle....great work! -
</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (RalphWiggum @ April 10 2002,05:54)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">. . . speaking of Russian media, I guess they are sour after seeing US topple whatever gov't that was in Afghanistan, when they spent nearly 10 yrs and sustained heavy casualty. . . . AFAIK, reason why Russia couldn't win was because every Afghansitan ppl were enemy. For US, a lot less.<span id='postcolor'> About the first comment, as Denoir already pointed out, the USSR took Afghanistan in a week. The problem isn't taking it, it's holding it. Like I've said before, it is much easier to harass and demoralize an occupying force than it is to defend against an invading army. It is the essence of guerilla warfare. Mao Tse-tung said it best: "They attack, we fall back. They hesitate, we harass. They stop, we attack". Russia took massive casualties over a period of 10 years, the US has not been there long enough to be able to compare performances. As for the second comment, not true. there were Afghans who were allied with the Soviets, remember, Afghanistan was a communist country, and the Soviets invaded when muslim fundamentalists overthrew that regime. Why do you think the Northern Alliance is so friendly with the Russians? Because these are mostly the same people who fought against what would become the Taliban.

Russia and US were not too happy with eachother but in the end they didnt launch nukes.<span id='postcolor'> We were damn close a few times though. It's now known that Nixon was considering using Nukes in Vietnam and Kissinger convinced him not to, it's reported that during the Cuban missile crisis Castro asked the USSR that they strike first, and there was even an incident when NORAD confused a flock of Canada geese flying over the artic with a flights of Russian bombers, and launched their bombers and interceptors. Luckily a fighter pilot realised their mistake before it was too late.

What if the next giant meteor we didn't see coming actually hits? Nothing much you can do in either case, just hope the heads of countries with nuclear arsenals stay sane and that the Osama Bin Ladens of the world never get their hands on a nuke

Ottawa, Ontario Canada Right now I'm at college about a 10 minute walk away from the spot in the picture. Just to the right of the bridge. During winter, the canal there becomes the world's longes outdoor skating ring, only tried it once though, I can't skate worth shit and to be honest I'm not a big fan of winter *edit* this isn't my home town, but where I live now. I'm fairly certain that Cotorro Cuba does not have a webpage.

That's the tactic dictatorships use, they make the population believe that the only good thing for the country is whatever is good for the ruling government. There is nothing wrong with loving your country unconditionally, but under no circumnstances should you have to love your government unconditionally. The problem is, often these governments try to convince you that another entire country is your enemy, and then you have patriotism and nationalism gone extreemely bad. Â As kids in Cuba, in school we were taught to hate the US. They supposedly were the source of all our problems and wanted to destroy our country. Now in all reality the US wanted the downfall of our government (not going to go into wether that's justifiable or not)...but to us , brainwashed as we were, our country and our government were the same thing. In light of what ive experienced as described above, I agree with many of those quotes, especially the ones by Einstein and William Inge. If that makes me gutless and self-serving, so be it.

Yep, Cuban, also spent a good part of my childhood in Russia and the Ukraine aka back then as the USSR. Never managed to get that pain-in-the-ass alphabet down though I still read Russian at like a grade 2 level. As far as my political views go, yes, I guess you'd have to say they are diverse, they're pretty much shaped by the different systems i've lived under I guess you could say I still have some of the socialism that I grew up with in me, eg. in Cuba everyone has the right to free health care and post-secondary education. I really wish I could have the second right now as a college student paying tuition out of my own pocket and working part time....but oh well. But if you say anything critical about the government, even jokingly, you're a "contrarevolucionario"...basically an enemy of the people. Western countries don't  often guarantee you free health care or university, but you can speak your mind freely, and that's possibly the right that's most important to me. I remember an old "underground" Cuban joke that deals with this: A Cuban and an American are drinking at a bar, both being very nationalistic (ironic eh?) they start boasting about their political systems. The American says "I can call the secretary of president Ronald Reagan, set up a meeting with Ronald Reagan...and I...can tell Ronald Reagan...right to his face...whatever the hell I think of Ronald Reagan" The Cuban  says "Well, I can call the secretary of El Commandante Fidel Castro, set up a meeting with Fidel Castro...and I...can tell Fidel Castro...right to his face...whatever the hell I think of Ronald Reagan" Now the sad thing is, that joke could potentially land a Cuban in jail for two years. My experiences with governments have caused me to become very careful when it comes to putting my trust in politicians or figures of authority. To me, governments are just like money: necessary evils

As for me being a commie, yeah, I was, just like a millions of other Cuban schoolchildren from kindergarten to grade 6 I was fed all this bullshit about how the US was the cause of all our troubles and how we were going to change the world by spreading communism. We had a few "cheers" we yelled out in school after singin the national anthem in the morning, and they pretty much went like this: "Patria o muerte, venceremos!!" or "Socialismo o muerte venceremos!!" (Fatherland/Socialism or death, we will overcome). Sound familiar? It's almost like the Nazi obsession for dying "for the Fatherland" or the same shit that's causing Palestinians to go blow themselves up. The moral of the story is Nationalism is a tool that governments use too easily to manipulate us to do their bidding, so watch out next time your government tries to sell something to you by touching on your patriotism...step back and take an objective look at the situation. All of us who post here live in democracies, so we have the advantage of doing that.
