Ah well, 30 minute queue now...I guess I can live with that

Am I the only one who can't download the island required for this mission? The link on ofp.gamezone.cz points to the rebels instead, and all mirrors except the Filefront ones are down - and there's a +5 hour wait on Filefront

WP is not considered to be a "chemical weapon" but you knew that right. It is a "incendiary weapon" in which its usage was banned when there is a concentration of civilians under 1980 Convention on Conventional Weapons (Protocol III). However, the United States did not sign on to that protocol. it's a chemical, which burns when it comes into contact with human skin, blisters the lungs when breathed, and was apparently used as a weapon...but try to split hairs if you want...I'm sure it's more pleasant than being gassed *edit* Anyways, legalities aside, am I the only one thinking someone missed the "hearts and minds" memo? or is an APC supposed to drive by later, blaring from loudspeakers: "I't's allright - that was WP, which is not considered to be a "chemical weapon". It is a "incendiary weapon" in which its usage was banned when there is a concentration of civilians under 1980 Convention on Conventional Weapons (Protocol III). However, the United States did not sign on to that protocol - You are still better off now than when Saddam "He who sould be hit with shoes" Hussein was gassing you - Allah Bless Democracy"

...so....now it seems chemical weapons have been found in Iraq, I guess TBA was right after all.

Looks like a baby Rhino to me.

killagee - Love the casing & cactus shots and "driving" surprize

I'm a bona fide MacGyver! Decided to take appart a $20 telescope I never use (Damn thing is useless anyway :P) And make myself a little tripod I can use for macro photography. This involved resizing a hole on the base where the telescope would sit to accomodate a larger thread, and shaving off the sides of the base with a boxcutter . The first result: *edit* Another: *edit* I know they're nothing special, and the lighting in my room sucks tonight (One of my lamps burnt out) but I'm just feeling clever because of my Franken-tripod

We've already incorporated the F-16 (cas) instead of the A-10LGB, what kinda planes do you want to see there? Maybe Sea Demon's MiG-29?
-
That, sir, was the best post I have read in a very long time.
-
So, if I understand correctly, you're planning in making a campaign for each side? If so - Awesome!
-
I played through this mission with no problems using the 1985 Woodland pack.
-
Put one down, make yourself a Spetz-Natz, part of his group, put three satchels under him, get a safe distance away, set them off.....and see exactly how far away he is when he tells you to fall back into formation *edit* Russia, winning the space race: Apologies for the blurriness caused by compression, but you get the idea

LMAO - that looked Awesome! ...The driver jumping out before it exploded

"such websites?"...so....what are your sources? Mine seem reputable enough, or should I just take your word for it? And I do tend to follow this stuff myself - especially with the aircraft. The Ka-50 for sure, is not used in large numbers. Russia bought this chopper to be used for special operations only, the real Mi-24 replacement is meant to be the Mi-28N. But the official line is it is operational. No matter if there is 6 or 8 flying or how many battles they've fought. As for the BMP-3, it first was seen during a parade in Moscow in 1990. These parades only show equipment which is in service, and I can find plenty of sources listing it as operational - in Russia. <a href="http://www.peostri.army.mil/PRODUCTS/BMP3-S/news1.jsp" target="_blank"> U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training & Instrumentation</a> Wikipedia Numbers are also limited because of cost, but they ARE part of the arsenal. If a serious need for more arose, they would quickly be procured. For the Chechen conflict right now, the reasoning is that older IFV's and modifications such as the BMP-T are simply more economical
-
That one actually hasn't entered service . But it's planned to be procured as a command variant of the Ka-50 for "special operations"
-
Wrong: http://www.army-technology.com/projects/bmp-3/ Also wrong: http://www.army-technology.com/projects/ka50/ This one's a bit of a grey area, but in 2005 at least, it would have as right to exist as the V-80 did in  Resistance *edit* of course, then it should be changed to the Mi-28N, since the Mi-28A was never procured . http://www.army-technology.com/projects/mi28/

I had this problem playing Retaliation with the ECP v1.085 mod, I believe. Ah, so most likely then it's an issue with retaliation and nothing else, that's good . In any case, it works fine with the 2005 pack, so at least I can still enjoy it with F.F.U.R *edit* Uziyahu - as I've mentioned before, one of my strategies in Resistance is to load up on machine gunners, and call out targets for them using binoculars. Playing through the campaign numerous time doing this, they usually make swiss cheese out of enemy squads before any of them is hit. Now, with F.F.U.R. they are constantly shooting at the sky, and go ammo low before hitting anything. I'm sure I'm not the only one who found them to be very lethal before, and about as frightening as a declawed kitten now.
-
What OFP are you talking about? 1.46? They were a lot better in 1.96 than they were in the days of old... try it out yourself, set up 3 or so soldiers, and have them go towards an enemy machine gunner. Try this in vanilla 1.96, and then with F.F.U.R. You'll notice a HUGE change In any case, 1 out of 10 would be better than the 1 out of 100 I seem to be experiencing now
-
The RGD-5 is no longer used by Russia....how about considering the RGO instead? http://www.globalsecurity.org/militar....ppd.htm I hope you also plan to increase their accuracy...since, as others have mentioned already, they shoot as if their targets were 30 feet tall

M61/M67 are timed like in real life, the F1 no cuz it does explode at the impact. we would include the RGD grenade in the FFUR 2005, this grenade's timed, though. thunderbird....what's your source for concluding the F1 grenade exploded on impact in real life? I started thinking about this, and it made no sense to me. Maybe a specialized grenade would be designed like that....but for a regular infantryman...hell...I would NOT want to carry those into combat! Think of all the accidental self/friendly frags! I started digging around the net, and sure enough: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F1_grenade http://www.iremember.ru/help/f1.htm Please adress this.

Love the changes made to the sniper rifles. Smaller field of view and very shaky unless prone. Very challenging, love it! Also, the AI seems more interesting. My tactic of breezing through Resistance by loading up my squad with sniper rifles and machine guns may need some rethinking. It still works fairly well, but it's no longer like ordering your squad to shoot fish in a barrel. The machine guns in particular seem toned down. Just played through "Occupation" in the Resistance campaign and had some very hairy firefights - lost about half my squad when before I was loosing one or two. The MG's and snipers also seemed to go through their ammo like crazy. After the first firefight I had to order 2 MG's and a sniper to go grab ammo. one heart-stopping moment: "OH NO! 3.....IS DOWN" *turns left to look since I knew 3 was right there beside me* *Russian crouching over 3's body starts swinging his AK towards me* "Shit!" *pump half an SVD mag into the Russian at close range , shooting from the hip* (crosshairs turned off) Whoooooooooooooooo! Allright, you're forgiven for putting a health bar in my Flashpoint . Hope to see more from you.

The US grenades (m61/m67) do bounce once launched, try'em using the mission editor. I know what I did now! I changed the loadout from M-16 to the XM, this also cleared out the grenades, and I filled up with "Hand Grenade" instead of "US Grenade" guess those were the F1's. You were right, it works perfectly . P.S. the 2005 pack doesn't cause the same problem with the Retaliation campaign...strange, the Woodland 1985 pack repeatedly does, haven't tried the Winter or Desert ...but hey I can at least still play it. Also, kudos on your choice of music - the Red Army Choir for the 1985 campaign, and Lube for the 2005 pack - I hadn't heard that song before, but the lyrics are very fitting! Also, is that a health bar you added or a stamina bar or something else? I noticed it does not go down all the way when killed. Anyways, thanks a lot for this, I get better framerates than with Y2K, and the effects are great. Keep it up!

...I could have sworn that when I tested it in "Steal The Car" the grenade exploded instantly when I threw it at my feet. Maybe it's me.
-
Awesome! I really do hope this makes it into a new release, and maybe a new model of Guba - like I said, that's minor, but it does take away a bit from the immersion when he shows up thunderbird84 - any chance for timed grenades in the future? And has anyone else experienced similar problems with convoys as I did with the Retaliation campaign?
-
Allright guys, couple of minor issues, and one big one (not counting the health bar :P ) First off, Started playing the Retaliation campaign - noticed Guba's model has not been replaced. May seem like a minor thing, but he just looks completely out of place. Second, the rucksacks of Russians in the Ural 375 show through the canvas, making for very good targets: <s>And while not a bug per say, timed grenades, such as other total conversion mods have done, would be very nice if possible </s> *edit - not an issue* But now, I have to get to the one big ugly cockroach - The AI seems to drive extreemely slow now - Played the first mission of Retaliation (I know unofficial campaign, but I don't see why this would affect it more than the official campaigns) and the ammo truck lags very far behind the rest of the convoy: This makes it impossible to complete the first mission of the Retaliation campaign (If I start hauling ass towards the truck, I am accused of deserting my team under fire, and get court martialed) Anyways, I really like what I see overall, but the AI driving issue especially is killing it for me.
