Who do you admire the most?

History repeats, and like it or not, it's a precedent. Also remember that he US tried to negotiate with the Taliban, and they only declared them an "illegitimate government" after those negotiations didn't go their way

Bomb kills 36 on russian holiday

So I'm at my parents watching TV and they showed updated news on this, the final death toll is 41, and they just showed a ceremony honouring those who died. The band there was playing the Soviet anthem. The dead and injured were mostly vets from Checnya and their children, who were marching with them.

WTF!!??<span id='postcolor'> (OK my last unrelated post) Yep, they sell first generation MiG-29's, they have too many and they are too expensive to upgrade. They take off any weapon systems/radar, ect, anything that's classified, so all you really get is the airframe, engines, and navigation systems. Even so, read the fine print, it is very heavily regulated. I remember a couple of years ago an american dot-com billionaire was denied permission by the US to buy one because even with all the weapons/radar stripped off, it was still considered a weapon.

maybe, maybe not. But I have an albino friend who works at McDonalds and (true story) he cut off the very tip of his finger while preparing a burger...so next time you order a burger there watch for that little whiter-than-usual piece of meat

In fact, the US was so confident in it's advanced missile technology that they saw no need to install a gun in it. What changed their minds? When outdated MiG-17's and their armament of 3 30mm cannons started shooting down F-4's over Vietnam. Promptly a gun was installed in all subsequent F-4's and is still retained in US fighters today.

But I do mind that he keeps Cuba from advancing, and holds Cubas people down for the sake of staying in power<span id='postcolor'> Not as soon as he got into power, but as soon as he realized the US wasn't going to sit back and let him run the country, so he had to ask the Soviets for help and subsequently Cuba became a communist country. (btw, i lived there, and before the early 90's when the USSR broke up, life was actually pretty good), but anyways none of that is the point. They also did a cover of the Beastie Boys "You gotta Fight for Your Right", and of Ozzy's "Crazy Train" right before playing "American Psycho". . Those guys were great fun, halfway throughout they told us to "Get back in that beer tent and get shit faced!!" because "You all don't look drunk enough". When everyone started trowing these rubber stress-balls we had been given, they were great about it, laughing and saying that usually it was beer bottles, and when they were done playing, we made so much noise they came back out for an encore!

During the Revolution, his air force napalmed villages just because of suspicions that revolutionaries may be there. How the hell do you think an armed force of 80, of which only a dozen survived the initial beach landing, came to defeat a US-sponsored military? Fidel had massive popular support, and with good reason. The present is a completely different matter however. To quote my grandfather, who still lives in Cuba and is by no means a fan of Castro: "I understand that Fidel wanted what was best for Cuba, and back in 59 what he did was for the best, but his great flaw is that he is so blinded by his ideals now that he dosen't see that he is the one causing the most suffering to the Cuban people. It's time for him to go."
  23. Well in the screenshots of your MiG-21 model it only has a vertical tail fin and delta wing...making it look somewhat like a Mirage. The MiG also has horizontal tail fins, like in the picture I posted above

José Martí, Cuba's most beloved national hero (For the communists and anti-communists alike!!!. I did a paper on him in my last year of high school, and got 48/50 (Lost two marks on Mechanical errors! ) unfortunately I only have a hard copy but I was thinking of retyping it anyways and posting a link to it on the net, so I guess I'll start doing that now, and I'll post a link to it here for anyone interested.
