    Deadfast's Translations

What, Deadfast? I posted a news article on ArmAholic yesterday. And thanks for translating these videos. I used the videos on your Youtube channel + the ArmA 2 website to convert my friend and his friend from getting Dragon Rising to getting ArmA 2 instead. I'm so proud of myself. :D
  2. *Loves the new forums, but wishes there would be an option to make the color scheme red and white, like in ArmA 2* Anyways, hearing that some major news will be coming out soon is very good. But on the ArmA 2 website, what's coming next? They've already done the factions, weapons, and vehicles. So now will there be beta tester gameplay videos?

    Death Animations

Left 4 Dead and(I hate to mention it) Call of Duty 4 had both good death animations and nice ragdoll. But I haven't really put this game engine's physics to the test, so I don't know if ragdoll would be any good in it. I would, however, like something like Halo 1's flexible dead bodies. It's not so stiff looking, and it bends around terrain, but it's not as demanding as ragdoll.
  4. How are you people getting those pictures like that?

    Mission Editor in Console?

BIS isn't stupid. They know that the editor is one of the biggest selling points of their games.

Arma II Officially Better Looking Than Crysis?

When the next ArmA and competing milsim(s) are announced.
  7. I think that weapon info was because the forums were down. I'm pretty confident in saying that they will start releasing vehicle info when the boards go down again. Hopefully the migration works this time.

    Mission Editor in Console?

A good example of M$'s restrictiveness is Unreal Tournament 3. The PS3 version has custom skins that could be used and shared, while the Xbox 360 version does not allow custom skins at all because of M$. I think it's just because M$ is too lazy to come up with or use an anti-cheat system in their online.

    Vintage Trailers

VBS's graphics are still pretty good, in my opinion. And it has more features than ArmA still. *wants to be able to rope out of a helicopter*
  10. As an easter egg in Operation Flashpoint: Elite(I don't know if it's in the other Operation Flashpoints or ArmA. Most likely not.), when you make and design your own level you will have the ability to add East Side bots. Do so, and when it says to place the object put it in the middle of a tree. When you go to this tree while previewing it, notice that the man is in the shape of a Kangaroo and has a baby Kangaroo for a gun or grenade... or so I've heard. Â I could never get the soldier in the middle of the tree. I kept overshooting it by a little bit every time. I'm going to try it again, though.

    Mission Editor in Console?

I recently started referring to it as just "Dragon Rising". When I look at it, I don't think of Operation Flashpoint. I think of some generic shooter with a military theme. Codemasters doesn't know what makes Operation Flashpoint, but Bohemia Interactive does. I know who's getting my money.

    Deadfast's Translations

Could you possibly just put what is said in that video in this topic?
  13. Breaking news! "The console versions of Dragon Rising... er... fArmA II will not feature a mission editor," as answered in an interview with Brant Nicholas.
  14. I sure do hope that film grain doesn't make it into the final product. But, will there be cumulative feces and urine along with physics for them? Also, will the feces slowly attract insects like flies and dung beetles? That would be a really good use of your Real Virtuality 3 engine. Codemasters, with their amazing record of games, like Leisure Suit Larry and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty(because those games are so good, right?), is already making a complete military sim including planes, of course, is the official sequel to Operation Flashpoint... illegally. So we won't need ArmA 2 anymore, since it will only be infinitely better than any game I have played so far and will actually follow through with its promises. I hate when game developers make good games that are worth my money that I pay for them.

    Third Person Camera

In the latest version XAM mod, the third person camera on foot is extremely good. In vehicles, it is the default third person camera. I am a person who very much enjoys third person in games. I believe that the third person camera should have a certain movement to it. The kind of movement that would be made by someone following you with a portable camera and recording you. If you have seen GRAW 2's(Xbox 360 and PS3. Not PC.) third person camera, that is what I'm talking about. Notice how it has a small lag to it, and it shakes when your character runs. Then it starts to gradually stop shaking when you start to slow down. Also, notice its position behind the character. This is a great position. But if there is going to be a cover system, the camera should go lower than in GRAW 2. It should require for your character to physically peek up and look over the cover, exposing himself to the enemy to be able to see. Â As your character runs faster, the camera slowly zooms out. When your character or the vehicle the character is occupying gets shot, runs into (an) object(s) in the vehicle, is close to an explosion/source of explosion(tank or something of that nature) or goes prone on foot, the camera should shake in a sudden downward motion. When your character crouches, the camera should lag a very small amount behind your character's movements. In vehicles, the camera should be to the left or right of the vehicle. On foot, the camera should be to the left or right of the character. It could be interchangeable by quickly pressing [lean left] or [lean right]. Pressing both at the same time could center the camera. In the options, there should be an option to control camera distance. The camera zoom option should be discussed for balance, though. In ArmA, it was possible to zoom the camera out or in with the +(numpad) or -(numpad). Please discuss and add to this suggestion. It is something that I would very much love to be in this game. I wouldn't mind if it wasn't put into the game originally, but was put in with a future patch. As long as it eventually gets into the game, I will be extremely happy.
