    Pre-Order in US??

    Pre-ordered! Â but i wasn't sure whether to wait and buy the US release or the UK one, i live in the UK so it probably makes sense to buy it for there but i don't like all the confusion about the different publishers There should be one publisher for one game and one publisher only!!!

I completely agree with SK3pt, although the skybox might add a bit of eye-candy, it is otherwise pretty useless and will give an odd feeling people playing with a very far viewdistance we'll just have to wait and see till the release or till more videos featuring the skybox are published. Starwars battlefront had skyboxes on most maps and it just looked really unrealistic because you had a 3d map at average graphics, then lots of fog and miles away you had a 2d image of some mountains or cities or even trees! I really hope they do something where if you have ARMA1 installed on ur pc, you can port it into ARMA2 through the ARMA2 cd or something like that (i just wan't the option to be able to play Sahrani on ARMA2 if i don't like chernarus or just to remind me of 'fun 'oldskool' ARMA! I wouldn't even mind a patch at the release of ARMA2 to port Sahrani to ARMA2 maybe you can turn the skybox on and off ?!?

    ARMA2 animations

    I think that because ARMA2 is still gonna use same physics engine as ARMA1 there needs to be a topic about animations which didn't work too well in ARMA1. In all the videos which we have seen all the animations and movements look quite smooth and i haven't found a problem in any video however when i play ARMA1 and i wan't to sneak up on the enemy base in warfare using a boat, i either have to airlift it or ask the commander to build a light factory right next to the sea, there should be 2 animations for pushing and pulling light vehicles which are light enough to handle by hand; such as boats and bicycles Another solution would to just not use a boat to sneak up on the enemy base but it feels so much nicer being able to use all your singleplayer resources online aswell.

    Mission ideas

    I think a great idea would be to have the ability to change the insertion and extraction points in the campaign and not have them set, in Special forces the groups are often given an objective and some resources and they are left to plan the insertion and extraction etc. I often try this in ARMA1 xr warfare servers, i'm given the enemy base location, i mark myself some waypoints, fly my helicopter, land it then hike a few km or even take my boat to the shoreline from san tomas or rahmadi! Then i laser the enemy base and we win  But what i'm saying is that i don't like the set insertion and extraction pts in the ARMA1 campaign. Maybe this will be included in ARMA2 as you progress through the military ranking system to eventually become high commander but i hope BI gives this a thought

    maybe it could be a graphics option (if you have a top-notch system) you could set 'mirror reflections' on and off ingame like you can change shadows and AA etc in ARMA1...

    water operation

    this is a good idea as Chernarus will have some ports however i haven't heard of any boat-stealth missions for ARMA2 yet  I've seen aircraft carriers on ARMA2 videos though so i'm assuming boats&ships will play some part in the ARMA2 campaign... Either BI will leave this to the mission designers out there or maybe release an expansion pack later on with a variety of different faction missions! i gues we'll just have to wait and see Â

    i suppose, but maybe they can instead of changing the engine, dedicate AI and physics to a core, rendering on another etc etc... i don't know much about game programming and stuff but its just a guess...

    performance Arma 1 vs Arma 2

    I can max out arma 1. I expect to max out arma 2. Could you do that when it first came out? That's a foolish expectation in my opinion since everything in ArmA 2 is more complex than ArmA 1. Â I have no idea what kind of computer you're running, but at the time when ArmA came out, no computer system that existed could max out ArmA (or so it was often said on these boards). well i can imagine if you're rich enough you could buy yourself a system to max out ARMA2, but if you were that rich then you'd probably be getting someone to type this up for you Â

    Maruk said the hind in ARMA2 is probably the most accurate one ever in a game, so y not make it the most realisticly handling one aswell

    Beta test plan ?

    torni do some research before you post, ARMA2 will be mainly for PC, the Xbox360 version will/might be released later and is of less importance. ARMA2's release is for PC and next gen. consoles but BIS and their publishers haven't actually officially confirmed console releases yet

    Multiplayer

    One thing that should be in ARMA2's multiplayer warfare mode is the uav predator!(to replace the sat cam) that would be amazing to fly it remote controlled in the air looking for the enemy base! Stuff which has been implemented into ARMA1 warfare which i also loved are nukes and carpet bombs etc. maybe if ARMA2 expanded on the realistic possibilities the multiplayer would become so much more fun!
  13. well maionaze BI said that they'll give us info on vehicles, factions and weapons over the next few weeks before ARMA2s release! jasooon thats all old news which hasn't been updated yet; amazon is always a bit bad with release dates  but BIS said that they will post the new bits of info weekly and there were 11 or so bits of them, so that means the release is 10-12 weeks away! just one question to BI, WHY CAN'T I PRE-ORDER THIS AMAZING GAME YET??   i can't wait that long...

    lets hope they can optimise ARMA for multicores like they are in ARMA2 with any next patch! but 30fps is enough for me right now, mr.g-c if your Graphics card is your limiting factor then i'm guessing i won't have much of a problem because i have a nice GTX260 (216core) waiting to be fitted into a computer! i'll post my experiences once my system is fully built and i've had a go at ARMA

    Beta test plan ?

    there won't be a beta but there will be a demo when the game is released. Xbox360 and PS3 releases are going to be later than the PC release because everything has to be ported and changed etc. its all up to the publishers in the end so i guess u'll have to wait and see

    What CPU

    I'm getting a new system soon mainly because i love ARMA and i want to be ready for ARMA2. Its gonna be a q6600 and i'm gonna overclock it slightly (maybe to 2.5-2.7ghz) but i'm wondering if ARMA with the 1.14 patch supports quad core; i heard ARMA is still a bit iffy with quads any help would be nice thanks
