  1. Agreed, those textures look awesome, nice to see some alternative SF appearing, not just the plain old US forces :)
  2. Actually it wasn't too bad while I was there, well compared to England anyway, might do a bit of work on my units later, just trying to wake up properly, when I got back last night my mates car broke down and we had to wait ages for it to get fixed :)
  3. Have to agree with pufu, I just model stuff for myself and if its good enough to release then I do, if someone else has done it too I don't mind/care because I have mine which I made cause I wanted to, not cause someone else wanted me too.
  4. Most likely in a second release, trying to finish off the combat units first but definately want to get a bit of variation in there so the beret is definately on my list as is the off duty units. Gonna be in Florence for the next few days for some Photography work, will update when I'm back.
  5. Well said mate, thanks to everyone who has been behind me in this, I understand that people want a release (and most are able to wait) but I'm not going to release something I'm not happy with. All that will happen is I'll be swarmed with loads of posts saying "this doesnt work!" or "this is missing!" and I'd rather sort it before hand. I NEVER planned to release any of my Brit work for ARMA 1, it was just after I had done it I decided I'd like to share it with everyone and the same still applies now to an extent. When I feel they are "done" then they are DONE but not before. And yeah hundred of man hours sums it up.... The first british concept units were release on April 17th 2008 (as the Irish Defence Force Units). Not including the time I spent getting to that stage and assuming I spend 2 hours a day (which is often much more when I'm not at college or finish early) I have been modding for 1140 hours or 47.5 days. The same will apply to others who do lots of modding. To not finish properly what I started so long ago would be stupid. I've set myself a deadline of January at the latest to finish these units so as long as Real Life Issues dont get in the way then you'll see them by then at the latest. Anyway, I'll post an update soon (maybe some pics too).

    Could be (and this probably isnt it) a problem with the alpha layer of the texture, it should be completely white, if its not some things will be see through. Just something I have forgotten on the odd occasion :)
  7. Make sure you have a shipwreck on one of the beaches with "Codemasters" written along the side of the boat :) Looking good so far, can't wait to see it when its finished, will be awesome :) Is there a reason you didn't want to go with the islands proper name?
  8. Would you really need to diefine it as a rifle though? If you just changed the rtm then you could be holding the front grip and it could stay as a secondary weapon and still have your main rifle

    Join the club mate, I have exactly the same problems and I've tried all the cfg fixes but nothing :( If you don't specify where buldozer gets its config will it use A2's default cfg? Dont think its possible but can high textures be forced through the command line next to the shortcut like"buldozer.exe -hightextures" or something similar?

    Well i was silly enough to buy DR when it came out, more fool me I suppose. But the "dedicated servers recommended" thing is bad and I have lodged my complaint with my local Trading Standards Agency. Have to go get my refund from GAME now...

    EDIT: Seems I was beaten to it... :) Hey mate, Welcome to the forums, I can only really second what cole has already said. Quite alot of the weapons in ARMA2 don't use tracers as standard or use "dim" tracers which can only be seen when using NVGs so that sort of accounts for the drop in tracers compared to ARMA1, also I think in ARMA1, without any mods on every shot produced a tracer but in A2 its more like every 5th (afaik) on things like the M249 and so on...
  14. I believe the texture is either mirrored, or the model is the same on both sides which would explain the texture being on the opposite side. Does the MP7 have a fire selector on both sides or just the one? EDIT:@PhilippRauch, thats looks excellent mate, could really do with a magnification system like that!

    Does Harry count? I believe Ascanius was trying to keep these as generic UKSF rather than label them as a particular unit so that others can pretend they are whatever they like SAS,SBS,SFSG etc...

The L85A1 was the original version of the rifle (that all the poor reviews refer to) although a couple issues such as the mag drop problem were sorted (before the HK refit) but the designation was still left as A1. As far as I'm aware, the HK refit cost £400 per rifle (or was that cost of a new rifle, i cant remember). Either way that sounds cheaper than buying in the G36, may be wrong though...

    The terramorophing has already been done, it has been used for shell holes, and as a "fortification" builder, well big piles of mud :) The problem with it seems to be you cant do it on a very small scale (afaik). And with the view distance, in ARMA 1 and 2 it can be set to 50km pretty easily :)

They redid the A1 but left the designation the same when the fixed the mag drop issue so the A1 can vary quite a lot depending on which version of the A1 you end up with I reckon (although I dont know if any other changes were made at the time). But now, I think the A2 is a damn decent piece of kit :)
