Mmmkay. Â All the gripes about the game itself have been mentioned and defended somewhere in the last 60 pages. But what about the Sprocket fiasco? Â Ever since the last patch I am unable to activate my game, thus it is a useless void on my hard drive. Â Softwrap says my reference # is one thing, BIS claims it is another...so I'm left in limbo. Â When I pointed this out, I became an untouchable. Â I am hardly alone in having Sprocket issues. And yet what do I see right up there in the top right corner? (Go on scroll to the top and take a peek, I'll still be here.) I will concede that all issues pertaining to the quality of the game and its release were defensible. But to dishonorably continue to sell this game through Sprocket with full awareness of the faults of the system is deplorable. Â How can you justify calling it anything other than negligence or FRAUD? Even more dejecting is the silent reply. Â My emails are ignored so what other recourse do I have then this post? Â Go for it BIS, floor me by making some kind of public statement. That add up there is a stain and should be removed immediately.

Good post Hovis. Ok heres something I have been mulling over. Is the potential for "World War" in the classic sense over? I guess there are two ways to look at it. -A small nuclear exchange between minor players causing a domino effect that leads to the big boys. -Or a small regional conflict leading to the same effect with conventional forces. Either way I have a hard time with a scenario that draws nations onto two pacts for the intention of war. Sure the potential for Islamic nations vs all exists with a number of ways it could kick off. And while the opening blows would be ugly, the flash would turn to a lasting sizzle. Sure there is the "world is running out of oil" armageddon story-line, but are there any others?

Uhh. Â Do a search on news about the "Ethiopian military", and take a look at who is providing them with intel and an unknown degree of support. In fact update your info on Ethiopia. Not to say that they wouldn't be a VERY good choice for one side in a African war. Â That I'll put money on...hehe. Â Want to buy my bridge?

I have an idea, lets talk completely around the issue. Â Lets deviate and discuss points completely irrelevant to the original topic of the thread. Oh wait, you beat me to it.

Once again BIS falls silent in the wake of their complete ineptitude. Â Hello? Â BIS? Anyone home? Â Wait I think I heard something...yes someone is hiding on the other side of this web page. I have been stuggling with my Sprocket version since Dec 8th. Â What a fool I am. There is a running joke among my close group of fellow players. Â "They must be TRYING to fail." If that is not true, wouldn't the alternative be even more desparing. ***Edit OMFG~! Look up in the top right corner. Â Yes thats an add for the Sprocket version of Armed Assault. Â Oh there are so many levels of wrong. Â If you missed it, it says "Buy and download now!" Notice it dosen't say anything about being able to play! Get your shit together BIS! Â

This was posted in December...guess the "teething" issues are still in the same stage. One would think that buying directly from the developers would mean that there would be a priority in making sure issues are quickly resolved. Still have a game that cannot even be used, still no responses. So much for a direct line to the developers. Yes BIS I am more than a little peeved. I want so much to have nothing but positive things to say, yet so far I have experienced nothing positive to mention.

Ok, well made points I must admit.

The sad part is several months ago BIS flatly denied the possibility that there was anything wrong with the Sprocket version. Â Then they come out with a patch "fix" for it. Now I can't even re-register my game with the new patch because it says my ref# is not recognized. Â BIS says my ref# is one number and Softwrap says its another. So I'm stuck in limbo having wasted time and money with software thats totally unusable. Sounds like they are swamped with support requests and just can't handle the situation, so i guess that explains why I haven't heard a word from them in some time. That or all my whining has come back to bite me in the ass. Over the course of OFP I got 3 copies of OFP, the Red Hammer and Resistance expansion. Â I'm sure not motivated to send any more money there way after all of this.

Actually thats not true. China is not only dependent on the infusion of money from the US to fund their growing military, but they have so much invested in US money that a recesion here would be a double-whammy to them. Some interesting ideas, thank for those of you who put some thought into this. My paper is a bit long so I will have to make a link for it. Actually i think I should provide get a compy of someone elses paper that I read which was far better than mine. Gave me a cold chill.

I would think Russia has more to fear from China then Nato. Â Unless Russia and China form some sort of pact. Â Then all those satallite countries can look forward to being "reacquired."

Absolutely classic. Just what this thread needed, a little comic relief. If you take requests, next time your drunk can you tell a hunting story that involves corn-dogs and malt-liquor? Maybe throw in something else American like muscle cars, gun racks, county fairs, window lickers, tractor pulls, being shirtless on COPS the tv show, or ...apple pie.

Here's the icing on the cake. Â After applying the "Sprocket patch" when it came out 2 weeks ago I could not re-activate the game because it told me that it would not recognize my refernece #. Well I got feed up and just reinstalled the game, and the problem remains. Â Seeking help from BIS they told me the reference # I was using was wrong and that it was something different. Now I have emailed them the confirmation email from Softwrap showing I have the correct one and they were incorrect and what do I get, ignored. So now I have gone from a game that was unplayable in MP to a game that is completely unplayable at all. Â Unfortuneately I must now have to STRONGLY recomend against using Sprocket to get Armed Assault.

In my opinion time spent thinking about a discussion is not lost. If it hasn't made an impact on those you talked with, it may have furthered your views on a subject. Infidel Thank you Infidel. I know your right, yet sometimes fustration takes its toll. I have been thinking about something all week. I have asked a few people and got some interesting answers. So I would like to share this with you. Do you think politicians represent your views? Do you think they are actually in touch with what "the people" believe? I would be very interested in how people outside of the US answer this question about their own representatives.

Why everyone else? I mean besides Israel i cannot think of any country that needs you guys to live. This is a clear sign of your ignorance. The US dose provide staple grains to over one third of the world population. In a crisis severe enough to disrupt transport or destroy production, many would suffer. I think those that hold contempt for certain policies of the American government need to reserve some of that critical scrutiny for their own political masters. As I said before, the trends that enrage us will continue until we are motivated enough to actually do more than complain. However, that usually requires a strong and trusted leader. As other Americans will probably agree, there is none on the horizon today. One post expressed great surprise to Hilarry Clinton and Osama's recent religious pandering. This is your wake-up call to escape from the "this side good, this side bad" mental trap you are in. I hate threads like this because its all hot air, and I now regret spending time on thoughts that will pass like wind through the ears. I really only see change coming after the breaking point...whatever that may be.

All this walking around the issue. Â Hell I'll admit it. Â This is a complete copy off of bits originally done in the US by US media constantly. Â Watch the Tonight Show with Jay Leno or listen to US radio, this is an old bit in the US. The % of Americans that can name who is the Vice President, Speaker ofthe House, State Governor, or State Representative is quite pathetic. Yes a LARGE number of Americans are competely apathetic and ignorant of the world that is more than 2 miles out their front door. Â Yes, as an American that drives me nuts as someone that cares. But the issue is SO much bigger than that. Â As a non-American you laugh, ridicule, and inflate your chest. Â This should scare the hell out of every American, and everyone else. Â Americans should be scared because their country is dying. Â Everyone else should be scared because America is dying. Â If you don't believe that statement, you will be proven wrong in a most ugly manner. It saddens me that I'm not sure that it can averted, Â So be it. Â Sometimes you must lose everthing before you relize what you had. Â Only then will you be willing to fight to get it back. Nature is cruel, especially when humans are involved. And yet it has a funny way of balancing out. The people you saw in this video, I don't have high hopes for. Is the future unwritten, or dose it repeat itself? Love to know the answer to that one.

Start with the new laser guided JDAM. Saw something on it on that "Futureweapons" show. Now instead of having GPS and Laser guided weapons seperately...they can be either or. Then trace back to say the "The bombing of Guernica" in 1937. Call it a history of tactical bombing or something.

Wow that title is a mouth-full. It dose sound interesting so I'll be ordering it. Thanks for the recomendation!

I'm still getting an "inconsistent files" error message. I put the 2 files in the right place and reactivated the game...so not sure what went wrong. Doh! I do have the language patch. Do I need to remove that first?

As someone who views second life only from his first life take this as you may. Moral relativism...etc...we are sick, imperfect beings. We cannot seem to attain "humanity" in our real life, why should I expect otherwise in a virtual reality. As I left a University campus today I was cut off and flipped the bird by a young woman with a bumper sticker that read: "PEACE" and "When Clinton lied, nobody died." If god has no desire to wash it all away, then I hope mother nature dose. Â I have a conflicting desire to pray for global warming to be true. Â Just desserts.

New music from "Airut" - the FDF mod metal band
Sc@tterbrain replied to GrimErazer's topic in OFFTOPIC
I feel the same way. Â I just go through listening to the samples from the new album and reading the lyrics posted and I must say... they have a new fan! Would like to know where I can get some of their music, site says sold out -
Good news, thanks for the heads up. I am eagerly awaiting the results of your efforts.

I too recently re-read Clancy's "Red Storm Rising" and it reminded me of a series of books I never read called "WWIII" by Ian Slater. If anyone has read them please let me know if they are worth picking up. Thanks

I consider myself completely anit-censorship, but can't defend sickness to this degree in any way. It's really too bad that this was allowed to progress to such a level. Trevor dose have a point. There was a time when crimes against children held such a punishment that people were influenced to supress their sick thoughts.
