Admin question! Can I send my dnld of ArmA to CDN, and him install with his CD-Key, no questions asked?
-
support@Softwrap.helpserve.com ? Placebo suggested this one, support@softwrap.com
-
I don't see why CDN is having probs, but a 5th member went and bought it thru Sprocket, without sigining up at Sprocket (he figured credit card info was enough)... and now he has the prob of NO CD KEY.

I dnlded Czech version from Sprocket (Firewall and Anti-Virus ON), installed the game, immedieatly installed the english fix...wha-la...game is great and in english. A few Czech news announcers are in Czech, but it's translated into english on bottom of screen. All in all, I don't see why anyone else is waiting. CDN is getting pretty pissed at his issue..specially since 3 others in our group are playing, and our server will be online soon.
-
BTW, the Czech version I got from Sprocket 12/9/06, was patched, so no need to patch it untill another is released

Currently playing ArmA on FX5900 (Asylum) AMD64 +3000. On install with those settings, it was a bit laggy, after adjusting to lower video settings, I'm suprised how smooth it runs now and the video details are acceptable. I'm in the process of upgrading since this current MB(3yrs old) doesn't have a PCI-express to hold a 8800 VC. 1 of our memebers has that card and ArmA, and claims the details are really REALLY sweet!

Well, 2 in our group got the Czech version from Sprocket, installed the english fix and we are enjoying ArmA now. A third (Canadian) member is also dnlding as we speak! So screw the US Pub's

Very nice, job well done. I noticed it defaulted to "english langauge", or was this due to my "english" windows?

how can i set the name for my non dedicated server
SWAT_BigBear replied to jantenner's topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
That "pc name" problem is also in OFP/RES...... if you don't have the resistance.cfg set up properly. So surely it's possibly in the server.cfg (I believe thats what it's named from other post). Maybe this will help you Parameters -
It's back on Sprocket site, but now it's Czech version only!

Dedicated Server Crashes (Windows 2003)
SWAT_BigBear replied to BigQEd's topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
Event viewer mostly has good info, I don't know what FireDaemon and Arma would do, without the game. I'm suprised none of the coders here that are playing Arma, haven't created a launcher for their server. -
hmmm, and which game came out, that did not need to be fixed with patches?

Linux vs Windows is simply a matter of preference. I've used both, but now that I've learned the do's n don'ts of windows, i prefer it. All Windows server programs freshly installed, have numerous processes auto installed..that will never be needed if your setting it up to run game servers. I've droped mine from 56 to 15 processes then addd games. I prefer to use windows remote desktop to control them... it just makes life much easier than all the extra tools needed to make linux servers work. Copy/Paste from my desktop to a server desktop..is by far, the easiest, or to just surf the web and directly dnld to the server via remote desktop. Note: Most hosting providers with windows are only licensed to handle 2 Remote desktop sessions at 1 time, hence REALVNC, that allows more, but I do not even use it..since it can and will cause issues. Sorry to be off topic!

Dedicated Server Crashes (Windows 2003)
SWAT_BigBear replied to BigQEd's topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
I use FireDaemon service manager for launching our game servers as a service, which has event logging, debuging tools built in. Never had to use those extras, but woundering if it would help with ArmA? -
Yup..thats the ones

Dedicated Server Crashes (Windows 2003)
SWAT_BigBear replied to BigQEd's topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
I'm glad to see/hear these issue's (server related)...apparently long before I'll ever get my group a server up. Maybe it will be less frustrating for me, I'll just review this thread! -
Oh my~~~ that was a quick removal
-
Yes SniperAndy, I remember well.... after installing Cold War Crisis and a couple patches, I uninstalled and allmost gave it away. Later, 1 of our members (CDN) picked up Resistance and pushed heavily for the rest of us to try it. It was like a whole new game, little things like drop/pickup weapons/kits was implemented. We all fell in love, and 6 years later, it's still 1 of my 2 favs

Even if Arma was just a mod.... the MAJOR point of ArmA= Join in Progress.

Dedicated Server Drops From Gamespy List
SWAT_BigBear replied to HitSqdhaXor's topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
Does ip connect work while server isn't showing? What are you doing to get it back showing? Restarting the server or waiting a specific time frame? -
Is that still like OFP, only driver hears it? Kinda made it useless.

Since most are close to getting the game and dedi files soon after, I would like to know whom shall be hosting. I will after the US release. I'm wondering if others like Karrillion, Roughnecks, Zeus, Fraghaus ect ect, plan on opening servers? Please do not post, if your planning to host from your home connections.

Well, the link is directly under the screenshots at http://www.armedassault.com/, so why else put it there? It's just a matter of time. I went ahead and made it my home page, and taped my creditcard to my monitor
