  1. @Penonta

    Sure you feel very small FPS drops if your in really large towns, but its no problem! The greatest thing is there is ZERO textures popping up! Thats what i hated the most. The game feels so more real now. Im also sure that it helped for LOD switching, there are nearly 0 problems with it so far. GTX460 is a awesome card, can only recommend it. Im happy i dont have to change my DualCore allready. Wolfdale really is a great CPU and its not even OC´d..

    watch out for my updated SP mission MountainWarriors soon:)

    @Zipper5

    well that looks like a big jump;-)

    Which driver version are u using?

  2. ====note====

    Do NOT use the latest NVidia beta drivers. They break the in-game anistropic filtering.

    ====note====

    Until BIS gets the OA code up to v1.07 I'm going to suggest people use the following parameters in the launcher:

    Dual-Core processor:

    -nosplash -cpucount=2 -exThreads=1

    Quad-Core processor:

    -nosplash -cpucount=4 -exThreads=7

    Hexacore processor:

    -nosplash -cpucount=6 -exThreads=7[/b][/color]

    (I'm not sure if the -winxp and -maxmem values are still required for XP users, for most people the answer would be "no")

    Should we keep on using the cpucount parameters after patch 1.54 ?

    Thanks

  3. I agree with Phantom, nothing beats the atmosphere and tension of OFP, my fav are:

    Cold War Crisis

    Resistance

    Red Hammer

    Eagle Wing

    Operation Arrowhead

    Harvest Red

    Queen's Gambit

    They need to make a great campaign like Cold War Crisis or Resistance again. Both are still my most favorite campaigns followed by Eagle Wing.

    Resistance

    Cold War Crisis

    Eagle Wing

    Operation Arrowhead

    Harvest Red

    Queen's Gambit

    Red Hammer

    ArmA 1 Campaign (Forgot the name)

  4. Hi all,

    My vid card just died on me (8800GTS 640MB) and now I'm planning to get a xfx 275GTX, rest of my machine is Core2Quad Q9650 4Gb 1333 Mhz ram 1 TB SATA II HDD, and windows 7 64bit. My question is should I go for this card or should I go for a 4890 1Gb ? I've read mixed results of both of these cards, and I'm in a kind of a fix. They are almost equal in terms of cost, but will the extra 128 Mb of ram really make a difference? (275GTX has 896MB).

    Thankx

  5. I found this on the SimHQ forums, I used it myself, and noticed a remarkable change, maybe it can work for you too.

    Basically just delete two files in your My Documents\ARMA folder which are "AMRA.cfg" and "YourName.ARMAProfile". Start up ARMA which will launch with all settings to default. Setup your settings and see the performance boost. Details are available on SimHQ

  6. Since Asus bought ati, the quality of their drivers has gone up quite a bit. With the taiwanese cracking the whip, the canadian code writers now are required to use *all* of the transistors that the engineers designed into the graphics cards. As a result, the ati cards are becoming more efficient, all else being equal, with each driver version. As they become more efficient, they run hotter. You should rule out overheating by declocking your card if it is overclocked, and blowing out all the turds and dust that has collected in your heatsinks and fans. You can also download atitool to get realtime temperature data from you cards. Once you have eliminated overheating (espicially the vram!! ) as a source of the artifacts, then you can try to troubleshoot the drivers.

    IMHO its AMD that bought ATI and not ASUS !!!
