  1. so why dont you make us a benchmark mission which we could all run for you and designed by you, with params that could disable various elements in the game or ensable various functiomns so we could do the testing and give you feeback.

    More then glad to help....so please BIS, make us a "test" mission for us to puzzle with...

    Our Nopryl server have the same issue as most others it seems. Above 25 players and a moderate AI level (100 -150) we start seeing FPS down to 10. From what I/we have tested the FPS issue does not seem to be affected much by using mods such as ACRE, ASR_AI etc.

    PVP missions runs great at 45-48 FPS with above 20 players, but as soon as you start inviting AI to the fight, FPS its drasticaly reduced. Im starting to think BIS have low confident in us COOP players, so they wanted to find a way to dumb down AI so our fighting spirit wont hit rock bottom ;)

Being as many here a long fan of the Arma series i was particularly sceptical about the futuristic approach as i really did not see the point ( i do understand the "artistic freedoom" it gives, but still) . The one thing that i saw on the positive side with the futuristic setting, was that NOW FINALLY the fixed wings would be brought into atleast this current decade. What I was missing is not a bunch of new fancy models or even better flight physichs ( we got modders and DCS for that :) ), but a better system to combine ground and air elements and to have some more " weapon systems" to work on from the pilot seat. As a bear minimum i thought we would have a working cockpit with the most basic instruments/ ( as we have for choppers) and MFCD that are more then just eye candy ( navigation, map etc) , now that even boats have a fancy PiP LCD screen.

    I do realize that im posting this way to early and that there is still a realistic hope for something better, but with the Buzzard released, panic set in and i could not help my self. I mean, yes it does take off and it is a fixed wing, but it cannot by far live up to Arma 3 expectations or other current released hardware.

    Just to end my little panic attack on a positive note..ALTIS is just a dream come to for an airhead like me and given my experience with the arma series it will all be good, it will just take some time. I mean, look at arma2, its peaking just about now ;) So for us who are in this for the long run, i think we have A LOT to look forward to. The release is just the begining.

    P.s wet dreams are allowed in forums, so here comes mine. On EXPERT settings, as a pilot you have to work the cockpit for atleast a few minutes to get the bird ready for action, and that ground forces could actually send 9 line information via datalink to the pilots MFCD system...Now that would make my day

  5. but Im having a bigger issue when on a dedicated server. And have mulitple aircraft using pins. Its seems to lose its ability to use the B key to toggle the camera, and as well sometimes loses the abilty to switch to thermals.

    I have started to notice this to now. I have not been flying and using the camera the recent months as i was "grounded" on infantery duty for a while :)

    So im not sure if this have been the case for the last month or two.

    Situation: Camera function works at first and then the function to switch on and off the camera seems to be lost..just to work again say, 5- 10 min later.

    At this point i have not been able to replicate the situation to the point where i can point at a cause.

    When the camera is working i have had no issues with swithcing termals/ir etc, but i have to very "firmly" press and hold the switch key for a 1 sek or so to activate.

    Just a note: i have only tested this using the Warthog thrustmaster joystick and throttle system. so not sure if this is the case using normal keys.

    However the issue is quite critical since one can not rely on using the camera for recon for our ground troops, as well as making standalone GBU drops with fixed wing aircrafts which we do in our games..so i really hope the issue is "fixable"

  6. Just been skimming this thread after months of not playing Take on...This project got me really interested again..As far as i can see this exactly what this game needed to keep it alive.

    Looking forward to a release..

    Just as a comment to the progress status.

    A summery of features and fixes and some kind of overview of the project in first post would be great.

    ATM it was a bit tricky to get all the info on this great project.

    As for one question in my head i missed druing my read..is this MP compatible ?? because that would be just awsome :)

    I also started getting these SSL connect error messages. Its about 4-6 weeks ago, and i have pretty muched patched to latest beta "on the day" all times.

    Im currently running beta version:Arma2 OA 1.62.101324

    EDIT: Just wanted to mention that it does not seem to have any effect on my connection to servers..i can play as usual.

    So iguess the hotfix ( which i have not tried btw) would not work for me.

    Unfortunatly i might have a problem to join, for some reason the gameserver does not want to accknowledge my ACR light dlc (altough its in the system and units work fine). Im not able to update since the installer does not recognise that i have version 1.62 and wants me to update.

  9. Thx for the "preview" /test Icebreakr.

    After flying around and enjoying the scenery i came across two things that you might want some feedback on.

    1. On the airfield close to Kobarid there is a lot of grass on the runway.

    2. Given the great waterways on Panthera, i just noticed that the bridge at Lancovo and Bled are blocking the waterway so that one cannot use the full potential of the those rivers with boats etc.

    Not sure if this by intent, but i would love to see all waterways usable with boats so my "spec op" team can infil from the sea and deep into enemy territory ;)

  10. EDIT: It was me being a dumb ass ;) all works fine

    EDIT 2: It works for me ONLY when player is either set as a PLAYABLE unit starting in cockpit OR as a PLAYER inside cockpit. If starting as PLAYER or PLAYABLE unit OUTSIDE the aircraft i loose the ability to arm the laser and the INC/ DEC intervall functions...

    Im I the only one ??

    I have been testing some stuff with the rover and according to the readme file there should be some more action menus which i for some reason cannot see ?

    Im missing: (tested with A10)

    Ripple ( for bombs)

    Increase/ decrease (when in aircraft and rockets selected. I do get that option when entering the aircracft)

    Feed for rover ( camera activated and fully working. Rover turned on, but there is no other options. Do i need to put anything in the rover init ? )

    I tried this "(Alpha)(Hold zoomout key to access. Requires a camera)." but it only cycles the zoom options.

    Laser is turned on but bombs does not hit target.. ( this is not related to PINS i think, just thought i mention it.

    Its ACE that have serious laser/ gbu issues atm.)

    However NO MORE DUPLICATED MENUS :jump_clap:

  11. Sorry if this topic is somehow bumped ( i tried searching)

    Have something gone wrong in the latest ACE updates ? ( like from 2-3 weeks ago? )

    Lately..i have had some issues with the LGB. It seems like they have completly lost the tracking.

    Iv tried a few controlled tests using soflam and the A10 with LGB`s. From above 500 alt the bombs are completly missing the target( sometimes the impact could not even be seen in the close AO). Tried from approx 2000 + and down to 500 ft.

    Laser was put on in same direction as attack angle (vector), but still no joy.

    The only time we managed to get a hit was dropping below 500ft and to be quite honest im not sure it was the lasers effort that it hit the mark.
