Sparrow shot to death in the netherlands!
Student Pilot replied to gandalf the white's topic in OFFTOPIC
I am open-minded, would you mind proving it? Â And while you're at it, there is one thing I must see, please show me the transition forms of one being evolving into another. Â In theory, there should be countless transitional forms. Â For example, the most common belief is that man evolved from apes. Â Please show me an ape-human. Â If you can show me a real transitional form between an ape and a human that I can believe I will concede my point. Â Please don't bring up Lucy, Piltdown Man, Nebraska Man or the others, they have been proven to be fakes. As Soul_Assassin said, evolution is a theory, and a very shaky one at best. -Pilot -
I can tell already that this won't be good... Philidelphia is a mess. I only went through that city once, and I don't want to do it again. I don't know what was worse, Chicago or Philidelphia. What do you have against Boeing? I'm not saying this to slander you, I honestly want to know. You seem to attribute everything to decieving the unions. Your comments appear to me to be almost like a conspiracy theory. -Pilot

I never understood Boeing's developement of the 717. They developed it right when the regional carriers started going. The 717 was destined for failure. It was Fed-Ex. I have no doubt, either. However, Airbus is doing something dumb again and developing the passenger version first. The freighter version won't be available until after the passenger version has been in service for some time. -Pilot

I really do hate SWA, but even I have to admit they are doing everything right. SWA's model of direct route systems is the way of the future. Hub and Spoke systems aren't as productive and can't make as much money as the direct route system. The MD-90 was looking to be a good plane, and a worthy successor to the MD-80 and DC-9. God I love the DC-9. My first plane ride was on one of those. Oh the memories. *sniff* The 757 is, IMHO, the best commercial airplane in it's class. You are never on the runway long in that plane. Not only is it's performance second to none, it just has a certain look about it, a look that says 'I want to fly'. That is the main thing, and you are absolutely right. Airbus is building the A380 based on an outdated idea of commercial aviation. The world of aviation will look more like Southwest in the future, not United, American or USAirways. The only area the A380 will be useful in is freight, and Boeing is the king of the freight market. -Pilot

Assuming evolution is true...which it is not (oh boy, I probably just opened another can of worms ) Animals don't have higher thinking, certainly nothing compared to man's level of thought (meaning that man has a higher thought process than animals.) Five or ten years ago they were talking about global cooling... -Pilot -

Student Pilot replied to gandalf the white's topic in OFFTOPIC
We are talking about an animal, right? Animals don't have the same basic rights humans have. Animals aren't even equal to man. They are here on earth to serve man. To imply they are equal to man and as a result have the same rights as man is wrong. -Pilot -
Sparrow shot to death in the netherlands!

When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought it was a joke. Â Now I see that some of you are actually serious... This is a sparrow. Â A small, very common bird. Â This small, very common bird managed to get itself into a building with a few million dominoes. Â This small, very common bird knocks down around 23,000 dominoes. Â Someone shoots this bird before it can knock down more. What's the problem? Â Am I missing something? Â Why is this even in the news? Â ...why in the hell am I even debating this? *gets a life* -Pilot -
Damn them for that. The 757 is a far superior plane than the 737. I honestly can't see how Boeing can successfully keep stretching the 737. The later 737 models have experienced growing pains. It's time to retire the 737 line. It has gone through it's useful life. I believe Boeing will introduce a replacement for the 737 in the next few years. This new plane will be mostly composites and will have cockpit similarity with the 787. I think Boeing's new 747-8 is an interesting idea. I see it as a way to undermine the A380. I don't think Boeing expects to make money off the 747-8, but they also don't expect to lose money, either. I think thier plan is to hurt Airbus as much as they can. If they can undermine the A380 and take needed sales away from Airbus, Airbus will be in deep shit...although the European nations will probably continue to bail then out. It's already cost Airbus a lot to develope the A380, and they've already extended the delevery dates out several times. Boeing won't have the developement costs that Airbus has, all they have to do is slightly redesign the 747. I think this makes good business sense for Boeing. -Pilot

When has he ever? Â The only things I can agree with him on are the war in Iraq and his very small tax breaks. Â He hasn't cut out of control spending, he hasn't stopped illegal immigration, he hasn't implemented large tax cuts, he hasn't encouraged drilling for oil in Alaska and off the coast of Florida, he hasn't come out against the rediculous ADIZ zone over Washington D.C., many pilots have been reprimanded by the FAA because they have flown near Air Force 1, even though Bush never gave ample warning!, the list goes on. Actually, I encourage you liberals to impeach Bush, then we get Cheney! Public opinion is not in the favor of the liberals, the Democratic party is imploding, they are not the popular group. Â What the American people want is a conservative congress and president. Â Unfortunately, Bush and the moderates in congress have not given that to the people. -Pilot
-
I have three words, too: "On what charges?" Ok, your turn You can't impeach someone because you don't agree with his policies. @Bush's new judge appointment What a great oppurtunity missed. Â Here we had the chance to appoint conservative, constitutional judges to the court and what does Bush do? Â He appoints some lady few have heard of, who has never been a judge and who has no record. Â There are so many qualified conservatives out there, and he chooses some lady to please NOW and the other minority groups. Â You are all wrong, Bush is not a conservative. Â He is a middle of the road moderate, just like his father. -Pilot

B-52 Stratofortress & Virtual Bomber
Student Pilot replied to [aps]gnat's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
WHOAH! Definately downloading now. Great work! -Student Pilot -
Wait a minute... *walks into 21st century* Ahh, that's better. However, I still don't think this is practical. The size of the warhead is much too small to be of any good to the terrorists. These guys want to kill as many infidels as possible, they are not going to waste time and money developing a weapon that can only do a little bit of damage. -Student Pilot

The civilian GPS satellites have a built-in error. Â This reduces the accuracy of the GPS Satellites greatly. Â Guiding a cruise missile by civilian GPS would be little more accurate than the V1's method of gyroscopes, and the V1 wasn't that accurate. Â It could hit cities and that's about it. Â Further more, you guys talk about a high-speed object. Â A fast speed would require a pretty hefty flight computer. Â Not many people are smart enough to write a program for something travelling as fast as a cruise missile. Â I would be surprised if this went as fast as a Scud, which is relatively slow. Â And Scuds were easy targets for the patriot missile system. Â I don't think the terrorists will bother with cruise missiles. Â A truck bomb can do so much more damage at a much more specific spot than one of these. -Student Pilot EDIT: From personel experience I can say that flying a plane is very easy. Making a jump from a cessna to a boeing isn't hard until you try to land These people didn't have to obey the FARs, didn't have to communicate, didn't have to land, all they had to do was point the plane in the direction of the towers. It doesn't take a pro with 5000 hours under his belt to do this.

Post Deleted I realized I was going off-topic again. There is a board better suited for this discussion, I will go over there if I feel like posting about the hurricane. Wow, I'm off-topic on an off-topic board, this is getting pathetic -Student Pilot

Yes, right, a portion of the US the size of Great Britian has been destroyed, New Orleans is 80% flooded and cut off from the outside as a result, inner city assholes are looting what's left of New Orleans and taking pot shots at NG helicopters. To top it off, it's only been a few days since the dams broke and they are not yet plugged. You're absolutely right, we should be handling this in a much better way -Student Pilot

@Scorpio Yes, many Christians and Jews do believe that. Â I think it's unfortunate. Â The Christian leaders need to educate the people, something that doesn't happen enough. Â We in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod try with catechesis, but that only goes so far. Â And we have been having our own problems, but those are irrelevant here. I think this is something all Christians struggle with, I know I do at times. Â All three are one God, but three parts. Â None are confused with each other, all are seperate. Â We have to take such things by faith. Â I once heard an anology that I will share with you, I only hope it is right. Â Look at an apple. Â There are three parts to an appla. Â The skin, the flesh and the core. Â However, they are not three apples, but one apple. Â All three make up the apple and the apple is not complete without all three. Â So it is with God. Â I know this is a poor analogy, such things cannot be fully understood by our human minds. I'm with Crave22, I am going to resign myself from this debate. Â I think I have presented my religion well. Â If you have any questions feel free to IM me. I only hope God agrees! Ok, I see what you mean, there are several similarities between Judiasm and Christianity. Â In fact, Judiasm, before Christs death and resurrection, was the true religion. Â Unfortunetly, they have rejected the very saviour they waited for for thousands of years. Yes, I see your point, and I agree. As I said above, I am resigning from this discussion, I'll let everyone else have the last word No hard feelings here. -Student Pilot EDIT: When I said I am resigning from the discussion, I meant the religious dicussion, not the political one. Although I may soon resign from this board altogether...

Not bad, maybe mislead is a better term? Â I'm not saying every muslim is a dark, evil, terrible person. Â There are many kind, good muslims out there. Â They just fail to worship the Triune God. That is a big part of it. Â Christians believe in a Triune God, Father, Son (Christ), and Holy Spirit. Â Those who reject the divinity of Christ reject his gift of salvation, thereby dooming themselves for eternity. Â The gods of Christianity, Islam and Judiasm are NOT the same God. @SPQR If you choose to reject the Bible, that is you decision. Â Please realize, everything I have said can be found in the Bible. No, I apologize. I still don't agree with you about the whole trial thing, that is one of the rights the American fore-fathers were so adament about. Interestingly, this might not be so off-topic. Â American politics was built around Christianity and many Christian infuences can be seen in our political system. Â Understanding Christianity may be an insight into the basis of the American political system. Â However, if a mod decides this is off-topic, then I will stop. I cannot stress enough, there is only one true God. Â The gods of Islam, Judiasm and Christianity are not the same. Â Christianity is the only religion that believes in salvation by grace through Christ. Â All other religions stress man's works to save himself. -Student Pilot
-
What is your problem with that statement? Â There are absolute truths in this world, the most important being there is only one God. Â Anyone who worships another god is committing a terrible sin, a sin that results on only one thing. Â I am not going to forsake my religion for the sake of healthy attitudes and harmony. Â I am not going to damn myself. @Balschoiw I have not heard of that story. Â If it is true, then a wrong was definately committed. Â However, if you recall, a recent investigation of Gitmo showed claims of abuse and torture to be wrong! Â And this investigation was lead by senators, people who wanted to find abuses and tortures being committed so that they could throw mud at Bush. I'll say it again, I DO NOT CONDONE UNJUST KILLING OR TORTURE!!! I do not think a trial should be bypassed, EVERYONE is entitled to a fair trial, even the BTK killer had a trial. EXACTLY! Â The soldier is following orders, just like the germans and british and french ect in WWII. Â We don't blame the german soldier for WWII, do we? Â No, we blame Hitler. Â If you have a problem with the war, don't throw mud on our soldiers, blame the commander in chief. Â Now, to make sure no one misunderstands me, I believe the war is just, I am totally behind Bush. Â However, there is another thread for this so I will not discuss the war here. I never said all Muslims are bad people, I just said they worship a false god. Â I believe that to be true. Right, why are we slamming the US soldier? Who is taking hostages and ruthlessly beheading them? Â Who are the suicide bombers who kill countless Jewish and Iraqi civilians? Â Why don't you attack them? Â Why is the US always the bad guy? And your right, he does have guts. Â He is to be admired. -Student Pilot EDIT: Crave22, I don't know if I misunderstood you. Â If you were agreeing with me about not condoning such activity, then forgive my comments. Â When I first read your statement, I got the impression you thought I condoned such activities. Â Of course, if that is exactly what you wanted me to think, then just ignore this EDIT2: Changed punctuation slightly

I take it you don't care much for Christianity? May I ask why? (I have a feeling I'm going to regret asking that) Uh huh. Well, I think the Shintoists realized that resistance to the US was futile. The insurgents still haven't realized that. There are always those who go to far, and I do not condone their actions. However, instances like that are few and far between. Btw, if my goverment values those monsters, why are we giving the Iraqis a chance for freedom? We could have gone in there and killed everyone, taken the oil and proclaimed Iraq the 51st state. But we didn't. I think you are wrong by taking the actions of a few and applying them to the whole. I don't think I could make that decision. Although, I don't think the insurgents would consult anyone on who to kill, they would just kill them both. Either way, the actions of the insurgents are wrong. -Student Pilot

Last time I checked, Muslim extremeists weren't waging war in Japan. Read Exodus 20:4-6 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments." God punishes those who do evil and hate him. What do you think hell is for? Yes, muslims can indeed claim that, and some do. The difference, however, is that they worship a false god and as a result are wrong. As for attacking Jerusalem, the city at that time was not inhabited by isrealites at that time. Isreal did not permamently control the city until David captured the city. What is that supposed to mean? Just because my country hasn't been attacked on it's home front since WWII I can't have an opinion? If that is your view of the US military, then it is grossly tainted. Our soldiers in Iraq are fighting for the freedom of the Iraqis, close to 2000 have given their lives for that cause. Our men are not pricks who signed up to earn money and live their sadistic fantasies. They are over there because they believe in what they are doing, because they love freedom and wish to spread it. I have never insulted European soldiers in my discussion, quite the opposite. I wish you would show the same respect. -Student Pilot

I am sorry that I am unfamiliar with the events of South America. I do claim ignorance on this. Precisely, which is why it is so amazing at the progress we have made there. It took us over 5? years to set up democracy in Japan. We have done it in Iraq in less than 2. It is indeed true, but you have to look at the reason. The Isrealites at first wouldn't kill everyone. They married into the other faiths and were themselves converted to a pagan religion. They were to kill everyone so that would not happen. God, in his infinite wisdom, saw what would happen if the Isrealites failed to kill every one of their enemies. Look at what happened to Isreal when they disobeyed God. As for war crimes, I think people in this day and age have forgotten what happens in war. In war you kill people and break things. There is a probem when we are more concerned about civilian casualties than completing the mission in the best possible way. Now, I do not condone torturing and I think if civilian casualies can be avoided, then they should be. But I do not think we should revolve our strageties around avoiding civilian casualties, they should revolve around completing the mission with the least harm to our troops. -Student Pilot

Ok, I am going to have to claim ignorance here. Â None of these names are familiar to me so I can't comment on them. I do know Iran was better off with the Shah, though. Â His reforms made Iran a prosperous nation, and Tehran was thought to be one of the most beatiful cities in the world. Â Look at it now. No revolution is easy, however, it's not as bad as the news media wold have you believe. Â The Iraqies support us over there and want us to help them. Â I will recheck the Iraq constitution. Â I may have heard something wrong. A country's businesses are it's livlihood, not the goverment. Â However, I never condone those who would kills 10s of thousands of innocent people or more. Â But who is doing that? Â Are you saying it is the US or US businesses? Well, Fox News is the best one on that list, be even they seem to be all doom and gloom about Iraq. Â Try listening to first-hand accounts from soldiers who have been over there, you may be surprised. Was Rome built in a day? Â Did we defeat Germany in under a year? Â Were we always victorious against Japan? Â There are always setbacks. Â We are making progress in Iraq. Â Saddam Hussein has been caught, his army destroyed, the people freed, even the insurgency has been combatted against well. Â Everyone mentions US and Coalition losses after each skirmish. Â What about insurgent losses? Â How come we never hear about them? Â We have lost around 2000 men. Â We lost more men in in single battles in WWII than the whole Iraq war. I have news for you, it is the same country. Â What we believed then and what we believe now has hardly changed. Â In WWII we fought for the freedom for the people of Europe. Â Now we fight for the freedom of Iraq. Â As a side note, I never held much regard for Roosevelt. Â His policies allowed the Soviet Union to control in Europe. Â We should have done what Patton wanted and marched against the Russians. What language is that? So your saying that the wars David fought and killed people in were against God's command? Â Also, read Numbers 31:1-24 Â It is too long to post here, but God himself commands the Isrealites to war. Â You will also notice the Isrealites were to kill everyone: men, women and children by the command of God. About capital punishment, read Genesis 9:6 Â "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God had God made man. Seperation of church and state does NOT mean the the ten commandments must not be posted on public lands, or that goverment officials must not pray before doing their duty, or that they should not use Christian principles in deciding the laws. Â It means that goverment shall make no law stifling religion, and that there should be no state sponsered church. As for the Shiavo case, yes, that was a terrible injustice. Â No one should support the unjust killing of a person. Â It is not our decision to decide who lives and dies, it is God's. Al Gore got his recounts. Â We had to stop eventually. Â He couldn't face the fact he lost. Â All those "chads" were merely an attempt by him to steal the election. Â The people of Florida made thier choice, and they chose Bush. We aren't a democracy, we are a Representative Republic. Â There is a difference. Â However, the recount scandal is over, and Bush won the last election with overwhelming popularity. Â We have had no problem in the last election. Â I'd say we are in order. Â I do not see liberal as a curse word, it is a word to describe those on the left. Â But you are right, I do find them scary. Â I dread the day they come into power again. Who got us into the war? Â Kennedy. Â Who wouldn't let the troops fight the way they should? Â Johnson. Â Johnson brought politics into the war and would not let the military fight to win. Â Vietnam should have been like Gulf War '91. Â It was Nixon that allowed unconditional bombing of North Vietnam. Â It was that that brought the Vietmanese to the table. Â When North Vietnam reinvaded there was nothing we could do because the war protesters had enough political influence stop anything we could have done. -Student Pilot EDIT: I think I found out what language you used. Is it Dutch? If that is correct, then I am not surprised your Bible says that. Translations cause some words to be misinterpreted. The original Hebrew is properly translated as murder. Ask any student of Hebrew.

Ahhh, I knew I would regret posting here. Uhhhh, the more polution there is, the better the trees are off. Sound stupid? Wait, what do trees and all plants breathe in...Carbon Dioxide! What waste is produced by plants...Oxygen. So, if there is less carbon dioxide in the air and more oxygen, the plants will suffer. SUV drivers are saving the enviroment! Yes, I can agree with you there, which is why we should drill in Alaska! We should be independant of people like Chavez. Yes, we do try to protect our businesses. To not do so is folly. Are you saying Iraq was better off with Saddam Hussein? The people over there seem pretty happy (the news media's views notwithstanding) So are you saying the Iran is better off without the Shah?! Look at Iran today, it's a hell hole! And, you may remember, the current regime took a few of our embassy personel hostage. Maybe that is why we don't like them? We do have a bill of rights, and for the most part those rights are still with us today. Although you are right on one point, recently our property rights were taken away. This is a damn shame and must not last! You have been checking out the mainstream media, haven't you. In case you don't know, Iraq has a constitution. We are making progress. Look at what happened in Gulf War '91. Did Saddam's forces have a good time? No, they got their asses kicked because of American military power. Do you remember who launched the recounts, that's right, Al Gore. That was pathetic on the liberal's part. As for Saddam offering vote counters, I don't remember that, so I can't comment. As for the two parties, I would rather have 2 parties and get something done than have 6 parties and have them bickering all the time, accomplishing nothing. Yes, we are still recovering from the 1960s and '70s. Those were low points in our history. But do you recall who was in power during those times? ROFLMAO!!! I laugh so hard when I hear comments like these. You people really hate capitalism, don't you? The Vietnam war was a disgrace. And it was all because of politicians medling in the affairs of the military. I would also like to point out again, who was running the country then? The conservatives? Nope, the liberals. . The feeling is mutual. Hmm, London, Germany. That's what it would be without us. But I won't use WWII. How about WWI? Who went to Gulf War '91 together? Who are two very good trading partners? Britian and the US are friends, and we both benefit from it. Uhhh, as I recall, most of the war debts from WWI and WWII from the European nations to America were dropped by America. I am not denying the valor of European soldiers. And yes, we do have problems with Hollywood. I agree with you there. Would you rather America was never Britain's friend? Would you rather America fought for the Germans in WWI and WWII? Would you rather America and Britain were never trading partners? We both benefit from the trade partnership and the friendship. -Student Pilot P.S. As I said above, I regret posting here. We all have different views. This board seem to me to be a place for those who hate America to share ideas. I am out of place here. I post once and get 4 replies all telling me I am wrong and that America and Americans are evil or stupid. Some of the replies slandered me for my views. I just wanted to have a discussion here. There is too much emotion driving the replies. To end my little speech: I have tried not to slander others in my short discussion. If I have done so, please forgive me. EDIT: If you recall, I never advocated assasinating him. If the people of Venezuala want him, they can keep him. However, you comment about being Christian shows you don't understand the religion. Goverments have the authority to kill people in certain circumstances. One is war, the other, capital punishment. This is a choice to be made by the goverment, not the individual.

There is a lot of oil in Alaska, anywhere from 5.5-16 billion barrels of oil. Drilling in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico would really help our enery problem, as would opening more nuclear power plants. As for biodiesel, we couldn't grow enough corn to meet demand. Biodiesel as a permament fix for our energy problem is a fantasy. -Student Pilot
-
Ahhh, I'm going to regret sticking my head in here, but I feel I must clarify something. That is incorrect. Â The correct translation is "Thou shalt not murder. Â Goverments are allowed to kill by waging just wars and through capital punishment. Â So, a special forces team could be justified assasinating a foreign dignitary with the command of their goverment. Now to the subject at hand, I would say Chaves is a threat to America: The whole article Specifically: I ask anyone who might know, what "agressions" is he talking about? (I sincerely don't know) However, no matter what, he is threatening our economy, which is just as bad as threatening us militarily. Â Of course, if the enviromentalists would be concerned for America for once and let us drill in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico, men like Chaves wouldn't be a concern for us... And why do you hate us? Â What have we done to you or your country to warrant such hate? Â America stands by it's friends, as Britain can attest to, and defeats it's enemies, as Japan, Germany, the Soviet Union and Irag can attest to, to name a few. Â If you hate us for our freedoms, our capitalism, our blessings from God, our military power, our unique system of goverment, our just constitution or our industrious people, then let us be hated. -Student Pilot
