Thanks Harley. Â Here are some pics of what I have done. Â The gear all now work properly, the propeller is fixed, and the canopy is working. JF2 Pic 1 JF2 Pic 2 JF2 Pic 3 JF2 Pic 4 JF2 Pic 5 JF2 Pic 6 JF2 Pic 7 Next up are the control surfaces. -Pilot

I decided to give it a try. Â Currently, I have the tail wheel working and I have fixed the propeller. Â I still have to get the main wheels working, then i'll try to get the control surfaces working. -Pilot EDIT: I'm also going to try to get the canopy working.

The aircraft is looking very nice, however, it is still a BETA. I have compiled a list of unfinished items, most of them you are probably already aware of, but there may be some you aren't. There is no shadow The plane doesn't float Bombs are eyecandy propeller blur textures not defined properly cockpit and cargo view lods not finished no control surfaces or landing gear work Impossible to shoot the pilot through the glass I hope you keep working on this, you have already done a beautiful job. -Pilot

Well, I guess you're right about Everon's dirt textures. That idea, though, is a really good one. It would be more flexible. Do you have an object that you are going to use, or are you looking for one? If you don't have one, yet, what size were you looking at (as in, how wide)? -Pilot
-
Hmm, looks like a gravel runway. I think grass or dirt would be easier to do, you wouldn't need any special textures for them. But if you want gravel, then go for it. ...I might be able to help, but don't count on it, yet. I have to say, though, that a control tower is unneccessary. Not every airport has a control tower, in fact, most (at least in the US) don't. And I have personally never heard of a grass field with one. The only airport buildings you should need are a hangar or two, perhaps a poll barn for storage, and maybe a house. -Pilot

Yes, a dirt, or grass, airfield would probably fit this island quite well. Â Then maybe an old wooden hangar or two would finish it up nicely. Â There should be no need for a terminal, control tower, or any nice, shiny metal hangars if you go this route, making it very easy to make. Â Chances are there might also be a house at the airfield as most grass fields are owned by private landowners (having landed at a few grass fields during my flying, I can tell you most of this from experience ) Â Other than a hangar or two, and maybe a house, the rest of the field would simply be a standard grass texture. (Easy, right?) I also like the farmland approach, just don't overdo it with hedges and loads of trees and bushes. Â For example, Anjou island is very nice and quite realistic, but it lags like hell on my machine with all those objects. Â Your pictures look good, I wouldn't add too much more to the farms. -Pilot

The island is looking nice. Â It reminds me a lot of Everon, which is probably my second favorite official island (very closely behind Nogova). Â One request, though. Â If you add an airfield, please put some effort into making it realistic. Â If you need help on how to do that I would be willing to give suggestions. Keep up the nice work! -Pilot EDIT: Btw, I love the first pic, the town looks nice.

@GOON Sorry about the lack of updates for the graves, life has gotten busy for me too. I do have one lod finished, I am just thinking about how to accomplish the other lods. -Pilot

Don't know, maybe take a look at the BIS trees/buildings/ect? Add a named property in the Geometry lod with the following: Property: dammage Value: Â Â tree I think that should do it. -Pilot

OFPL Lechistan, Object Pack i PKP 1.0
Student Pilot replied to ag_smith's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Wow, this is a great map! The attention to detail is amazing, the cities are great, and best of all, the airport is realistic. There are only two airports in OFP I really like, and the one on this island is one of them. Great job to the whole team, this island is a keeper. -Pilot -
Yes, as long as it is the same name you gave the language in the stringtable, it will work. -Pilot
-
The stringtable allows any language to be supported by OFP. Â In a mission I made, I had a working Portuguese translation in it, even though OFP doesn't officially support Portuguese. Â If the game engine can't find the custom language, it will default to English. Look here for more info. -Pilot

Are you sure it's only three or four points, and there aren't two points right on top of each other? You can find out by selecting the points and looking at the botton bar in Oxygen, the bar will tell you how many points are selected. -Pilot

In a helicopter simulator, the throttle acts as the collective. To go up, a helicopter pilot moves the collective back, to go down, he moves the collective forward. That's how helicopters work. So, OFP is correct, its the helicopters that are screwed up. -Pilot

I would suggest a USB joystick if at all possible. You should be able to assign the target command to a button on the joystick.

@Blackjack Interesting, I never thought of using a linear equation for this. It does make sense, though, and its something I can understand Can't comment on splines, because I have no idea what they are. -Pilot

This is more of a scripting issue. What you want to do is create a weaponholder, which is a sort of invisible ammo crate. Then you add the weapon magazines and the weapon itself to the weapon holder. The weapon will then appear on the ground instead of in an ammo crate. -Pilot

If you have textured a plane with the blueprints, then all you have to do is select that plane, press "a", right-click, and select Background Form Face If you haven't textured any plane with the blueprint, then you are out of luck. -Pilot

Well, you've just about lost me with the math, so I can't help there, but that tool sounds nice! I have always wondered how many faces should be in each lod. This would be a nice tool to have. -Pilot

Wow, very nice. Thanks for that info. -Pilot
