Humm, Long Weekend (Labour Day) coming for Canada and USA. I wonder Jerry, is it possible .. Nah, They wouldn't do that to us! That would mean we would potentially tie up the internet world wide. LOL

Still some gaming happening on a few dedicated servers. Try OFP Watch. Depending on where you are from , late Night or mid day gaming happening. A few MFCTI servers still running.

What is wrong with a "HARD COPY OF THE GAME"? Why does this keep coming back up? The vote was unanimous. AGAINST STEAM!

Operation Flashpoint 2 officially announced
SWAT_CDN replied to imported_bör's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Touche Dwarden. Good Point. If I am correct, Bohemia Interactive is the one who has really supported OFP this long. I guess time will tell with their new venture. Hopefully they carry on the same Philosophy! -
I got one as gift last summer. Nice keyboard, nice features. I am a "seak and destroy" (index finger typer) and the programable keys has help me alot. Normally I loose where I am on the keyboard. The illuminated keys help out alot. But and a Big but... They etching wears off the keys very easy. On my keyboard the "Q,W,E,A,S,D,Z,X,C" are totally gone!!

Operation Flashpoint 2 officially announced
SWAT_CDN replied to imported_bör's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
They say that "Competition is Good for the End User" Just an observation: The clip that is floating around and Codemasters announcement is Date Aug.21,2007 and Arma2 announcement dated Aug 22, 2007. I wonder if the battle of our future gaming is brewing before our eyes? Will it be a Race to the Consumers Shelves? Will it become a "Seven Year Itch"? (for the young ones" " is a saying to identify the average amount of time a relationship lasts) -
FritzDaKat very true alot of people undersize the power supply. It is not just the MBO and CPU, have to take into account all the other goodies, Fans, Non intergarted Sound Card, Video cards, USB devices. I would hazard to guess from Sevan's spec's he need a minimum of 600-650 watt power supply and it should be SLI compatible.

@ efefia if your still around. My system is very simular to yours. ASUS 8800GTS 640MB Asus MBO 74 gig 10,000 rpm HD (sata) AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (125W) Dual-Core Socket 2 gig ram The only diff. is I'm still running XP Pro. I'm running without any "max mem" or other "tricks". Note: Did have a few issues but it was Video setting conflicts. Oh and by the way I'm seeing OFP in a totaly different light, things I never saw before with my old system. (my old Vid card was 1600X 512MB AGP)

Just wondering if I'm dreaming or not but.. I have an: ASUS 8800GTS 640MB Asus MBO 74 gig 10,000 rpm HD (sata) AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (125W) Dual-Core Socket 2 gig ram running fresh install (on new hard drive) xp pro. 1) Bios as current as can be. 2) Running ASUS's current video drivers. 3) Only default setting turned off is Vsyinc. To my point, I have noticed that when I set the resolution and frequency in game the same as the desk top settings, it appears that the game runs smoother, actually it runs great. Note: the HD is 74 gig and has nothing else on it other than XP, some games and required drivers. If it matters.

I am running a Asus EN8800GTS on an ASUS MBO with AMD AM2 6000+, 2 gig ram. Except the crashing "Cannot Create.... Messages) which I'm sure is form me pushing the envelope with to resolution up in the 1600 range and High frequency 85 (not sure if it matters but i'm using a good CRT monitor). In the 1280x800 and 70-75 Hz range no problems. Running XP Pro Also, I'm not sure which drivers (stock off CD), I'm using not fully update that I know but not too old. For what it's worth I am also using Asus video monitoring software which shows all fine. (actually I think I might try and see if it logs while I play a round of ARMA! Old saying: If it isn't broken no need to fix it!!

@ PinkFl0yd I think there area few things people need to start attempting to help. Computer spec.'s Version of ArmA. Downloaded or Hard Copy (DVD) PS: People around here tend to be very helpfull.

Sorry for new topic but this may be important. From Atari Forums: "Atari will be posting it on atarisupport.com, atari.com/arma, ftp.atari.com, and other official sites after our code release meeting today. We have to make sure there are no unknown issues/problems and that all departments approve. I want to make sure everyone is informed and that customers get the best support possible. I've got a certain level of quality that I feel needs to be met with everything I do so I am going to make sure we follow correct procedure on releasing a patch. ___ Mattlab Atari, Inc. Sorry but I'm alittle confused!!! There are 2 downloads: one is @ 564MB the other is 329 MB Which one is the right one? Sorry: I have the Atari DVD Version.

I don't think the Demo represents the full version properly! So far my "US DVD Hard Copy version" runs fine. Just my opinion.
-
Well people I got my "DVD Hardcopy" yesterday May 03, from EB Games In Toronto, Ontario, Canada Installed and running. The store where I got it was shipped 1 copy? I got it. He said it was a head office choice? Never questioned much more than that just paid and went home.
-
I have it I have it. A boxed copy of "ARMA: COMBAT OPERATIONS" (DVD). What I must say to all who get it read the small print on the back of the box it will explain a few things. I was somewhat enlightened. Will be installing shortly, Trying to decide if I uninstall my non working downloaded version!!! (YA Right) later PS: @ CanadianTerror, I guess you are correct Toronto is not part of Canada
-
ABS Thanks for the info!!! I was wondering when we would get it in the Toronto Area!!!

Victor I agree with you that issues with Sprocket, Softwrap.. whomever is involved is part of Bohemia Interactive's responsability. We have all bought the game (DVD, CD or download) based on Bohemia Interactive's reputation for OFP. The people who are in the background are letting them down and dragging down the whole game and community. I bought the Chezk version sometime ago but due to issues such as (no activation codes for weeks on end after downloading, inability to re-activate issues after upgrade installs and no response from support), I think I might have been able to play a total of 3 or 4 times since I payed for the game. I envy the luck ones who have had no issues but for the many who either gave up, I know a few, I again think Bohemia Interactve is somewhat resposnable. I feel that Idea has been somewhat supportive, for me anyhow but the turn around for assistance appears to be long. I personally will never ever purchase software as a download again from anybody after the experince with this download.
-
If this has already been answered I say "Sorry". What about Canada? I thought maybe with the US release Canada would be in there somewhere. I bought a download version sometime ago, played fro a bit and gave up trying to get it to work with the issues. I will buy again but only a hard copy, So please when in Canada.
-
cyclone You are correct there are big issues with either "Softwrap" or "Sprocket". You are not the only one with problems. Just do some quick checks trough out these forums and you will see nothing but complaints. I and a few of my gaming buddies have had nothing but problems with their download. A few have given up totally and have said they have written off the money spent (wasted is more to the point). The shame of it all is they were die hard OFP'ers. So don't feel alone.
-
Because some of them do not listen or reply. It's Bohemia Interactive that we are supporting here not the screwed up distributors. Hopefullt Bohemia Interactive can do something about it, or help atleast!!! It is their best interest is it not?

Ok downloaded the game (came with no cd key??????
SWAT_CDN replied to tony7's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
HEY tony7, I suggest you check out the forum for recent posts in the "General" section. You may want to reconcider your downloaded purchase and wait for hard copy? Hopefully you paid with a credit card and can cancel the purchase or go even further close the credit card, "NOW" -
I am sorry moderators but I cannot keep quiet anymore about the downloaded versions. I am so sorry that I purchased this wonderfull game, download version, with :"SOFTWRAP INVOLVED". There are atleast six adults in our gaming group who purchased via this method and all of us have horror stories: 1) DOUBLE CHARGES ON CREDIT CARDS (complaint filed with credit card compaines) 2) Waiting weeks / months (no joking) for response from support! (I was luck to get a great live person on other end at "IDEA", had my verification and download fixed in about a week after purchase and credit card charged, and about another week after that to get the verification bug fixed, I finally got to try the game out about 3 weeks after purchasing it) 3) One of our gaming group memebers built a new computer 4 weeks ago and has nothing but problems getting another verification (by the way it's only the 2nd install), week 5 and he still cannot play the game. In closing " I WISH TO THANK THE PEOPLE WHO PROVIDE THE DOWNLOADS" YOU TAUGHT THIS 50 YEAR OLD A GREAT LESSON. NEVER BUY (PURCHASE) SOFTWARE AS A DOWNLOAD, IT'S NOT WORTH THE ARRGEVATION. TOO , BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE, GREAT GAME, GREAT IDEAS, BUT SORRY..... SOMEBODY MADE A BIG MISTAKE GETTING INVOLVED WITH THE PROVIDERS OF THE DOWNLOADED VERSIONS.

I'm thinking about upgrading my computer and have heard that I may have a difficult time re-installing Armed Assault. I have the Czech version.
