I don't know if this helps but I ran a little test this past weekend. Playing (Co30) Evolution Blue V3 MHQ on a dedicated server. Mostly solo, had one other person play for about 4 hours through the test. At one point in the beginning of the game withing the first few hours I had some minor freezing issues along with some small desync. During this time I had a few AI with me. I was only human player. I had to hard boot a few times. I decided at this point to try without AI (the other human played joined around this time). Well, I would like to report that without the AI to game played somewhat flawlessly for over 51 hours. (now I did not play staight through but stayed connected) I have no idea what this might mean or if it might help maybe the "Powers-To-Be". Could it be that there is too much going on in the game that is causing the freezing? If so I am surprised more people are not reporting!

The same thing happened last night to me. A little history: I was playing a co-op game solo online and got called away from the computer for about an hour. There was no action happening, I had no AI and was in a safe place. When I came back the game was frozen the sceen was sort of a "Grey Texture" and my computer's CPU was at a solid 100% use. I attempted to minimize the sreen and up pops the NEVER SEEN BEFORE message "Display adapter does not support D24S8 for X8R8G8B8" Any Ideas, anybody? I am starting to wonder if potential computer damage is possible. I have not changed anything in months. Except, Service Pack 3 Windows Xp.

Thanks for the info. I will try also and give it a try. I have been playing with different Arma settings and using older drivers with what I thought was success but last night it happened again after about 2 weeks of no problems. Last night what was left on the screen at the freeze point was weird. It froze as I was getting in a non-modded hummer and what came up on the screen was a picture of the hummer all broken down in flat sections (reminded me of the pics I have seen by modders showing how things are broken down when making custom faces in the flatened out format). Then the sound card started emitting weird screaching noises and the screen started flipping pics of the map in these "broken down" scenes as I mentioned above and started bouncing between 3 scenes. (Broken down vehicle, Map sections, Texture's of I don't know what) On a side note there were 4 of us playing the mission (internet) and I was the only one with this level of freeze thing, however related or not, the desync went through the roof shortly after this? What I am a little upset about is that nobody from BIS has at least acknowledged there is a potential issue here. To continuously keep trying different things is sort of getting old!Â

monty67t I got the same tonight. Froze solid, waited about 20 min, no option but to "Hard Boot". You might notice about 1 month ago same issues posted without reply! One thing I did notice tonight was the CPU usage went from dual to flipping between max on 1 and 2 (back and forth) and my 2 gig of ram went to 100%. Also, I noticed that there was a huge amount of data being transfered as my "Internet Connection Icon" was flashing rapidly. weird Â

Not sure where your CD came from but my key is in my Arma manual! Mine is from Atari.

I think I found out what my issue is or was. As mentioned before I turned everything graphically down. I started turning stuff up from Normal to High or Very High and it crashed after about 1/2 Hour. Had a game going on the internet (one of the few 1.11 servers that can be accessed) for 4 Hours with all settings at normal with no crashes. So it appears that with 1.11 my computer cannot handle the Graphics where 1.09 was not an issue. I wll keep playing around.

Well I turned down or off everything in Nvidia Control Panel, reduced Video Qualities in Arma to Normal, and turned off EAX in Arma. I can say I played last night for about 3 hours without a crash so...I guess it's not really hardware related. The graphics are so/so now but playable for longer periods of time. Sad thing is, I feel it's a shame that with my computer I have to turn everything off or down! I am not so sure it's a sound issue. I am using "onboard sound" I am running in "window" mode so no need for alt+tab. I just hit "ESC' do mu thing from the task bar and hit resume however when this Freeze hits my computer totally locks up. I also thought it was a Hardware issue but now I'm not so sure. I am wondering if anybody can translate the error's that are showing up in the .rpt file? I googled the stuff in different formats and really did not cme up with anything I understand. If it's hardware related I'm like about 2 months away from warranty returns so some advice would be greatly appreciated. By the way this is only happening while in Arma no other programs or games. (not to date anyhow!

I got this "freezing issue" with 1.11 while playing around in the editor (cannot connect to any server to try in MP) Normally I hard Boot the computer but last night I let it run it's course, (instead of hard boot), the computer went through a whole bunch of wierd grapic screens, sounds did really wierd noises and after about 20 Min it finally went back to normal.? While this freezing is going on the LCD on my G15 keyboard shows Arma maxing out on only one CPU at a time and continuously bounces between CPU's . Ram usage stayed the same no change at about 40% usage. AMD Atholon 64x2 Dual Core 6000+ 2 Gig Ram EN 8800 GTS 640 Meg (169.44 Drivers) Windows XP Pro PS: The error message as reported in the .rpt is the same as what Jack-UK posted in the "1.11 beta patch troubleshooting thread" (about page 8).

@Jack_UK Man I thought I was the only one getting those freeze up's! I have been getting them for awhile, especially after playing for a couple of hours. I was just about ready to send my 8800 GTS back and complain there was an issue with the card. I have been getting exactly the same messages in my RPT. Sorry to jump in on this but I would like to purchase it also. The only difference is I would like to purchase a Hard Copy, not the download. (Sorry, but I still have not gotten over the very bad experince with the download version at Arma's release) Please, can anybody direct me to a trustworthy retailer that will ship to Canada. I keep getting "cannot load.. Files Deleated... crcti_buildings and uh 60 desert.." I have been following this converstation and the only thing I can figure is "I don't have QC'?. Can anybody confirm that not having QC is potentially the issue? Thanks

luemmel, thanks Have not found "Queens Gambit" in Canada, and I guess we won't see it in store anytime soon, if ever. Would appreciate if you could fix it to work with out requiring "QG". Again Thanks

We would like to give this a try but we are getting an error? " Cannot load or play this mission as downloaded content has been deleated: crcti_buildings, uh60desert" The addon pack in installed in a -Mod folder and the file crcti_buildings is in the folder, however the "uh60 desert" is not (it is not in the download pack?). Tried pulling the crcti_buildings file out and putting in main addon folder and get same message. Version 2 only errors crcti_building while Version 5 errors both. Trying this on a non-dedicated server with 1.09 patch. Suggestions? Thanks

Looking for constructive comments on the MP game play from OFP/Arma luvers? Kind of wondering what type of PvP or Co-op game play is like. Really not interested in another dust collector on the shelf. Thanks

BEIJING (AP) - A man in southern China appears to have died of exhaustion after a three-day Internet gaming binge, state media said Monday. The 30-year-old man fainted at a cybercafe in the city of Guangzhou on Saturday afternoon after he had been playing games online for three days, the Beijing News reported. Paramedics tried to revive him but failed and he was declared dead at the cafe, it said. The paper said that he may have died from exhaustion brought on by too many hours on the Internet. The report did not say what the man, whose name was not given, was playing. It said that about 100 other surfers "left the cafe in fear after witnessing the man's death." China has 140 million Internet users, second only to the United States. It is one of the world's biggest markets for online games, with tens of millions of players, many of whom hunker down for hours in front of computers in public Internet cafes. Several cities have clinics to treat what psychiatrists have dubbed "Internet addiction" in users, many of them children and teenagers, who play online games or surf the web for days at a time. Humm, WOW?

I found the other report. Wednesday, 10 August 2005 A South Korean man has died after reportedly playing an online computer game for 50 hours with few breaks. The 28-year-old man collapsed after playing the game Starcraft at an internet cafe in the city of Taegu, according to South Korean authorities. The man had not slept properly, and had eaten very little during his marathon session, said police. The man, identified by his family name, Lee, started playing Starcraft on 3 August. He only paused playing to go to the toilet and for short periods of sleep, said the police. "We presume the cause of death was heart failure stemming from exhaustion," a Taegu provincial police official told the Reuters news agency. He was taken to hospital following his collapse, but died shortly after, according to the police. It is not known whether he suffered from any previous health conditions. They added that he had recently been fired from his job because he kept missing work to play computer games.

One of the activities could be "harassment" which is a crime when talking about cyber crime. Enough software companies and consumers complain then the laws will be enforced and the kiddies will get back to some sort of social reality.
