    Other question.

    When i save as script, and i exec script in my mission saving with "enableSimulation false". When i execute script on mission, objects go down on floor. There is a specific way to run script to place objects in correct placement?

  2. PWS version is indeed causing issues.. tried installing via PWS and I was missing a bunch of folders in inidb (someone else posted a few pages back about this). Without these folders/files XCam will not generate an object library (ie you don't get the option on first launch to select object libraries). Manual download and install from Armaholic works fine.

  3. Thank you Silola for this awesome release! I definitely have been waiting for this. I was wondering if anyone could help me with the problem i am having regarding the object library. I started X-cam for the first time and did not get an option to build my library. when i click on the obj layer it is completely blank. I followed the instructions on the first video tutorial for setup and installation, but still seem to have a blank object layer. my only suspicion for what could be causing it is Playwithsix or steammover as i have moved my arma 3 install to an ssd along with the playwithsix mod folder. any help on this would be appreciated. i am excited about this mod and just want to get it to work.

    Maybe the Playwithsix is causing problems, but I don't know.

    It's impotant to have the @inidbi folder installed within the Arma 3 root folder, otherwise it's not working.

  4. Hey there! Quick question I've got about a problem I've been having. After exporting my project in X-Cam with the Terrain Builder setting, I've been getting this error whenever I try to import it.

    I've imported all of the templatelibs provided with X-Cam, so I'm not sure where it's going wrong. Any ideas?

    It's simply a missing object on drive p. So I think you have not un-packed all pbo's u need on drive p.

    The TemplateLib within the zip file was only an example if you use the AIA TP objects, but not to use it.

    If you open your project file within @inidbi\db\xCam\Library_Pro\NameOfYourProject.ini, then u will find at the end of the file

    all the different object types u have used within your project and it looks like this:

    I'm currently having a problem that my PrefFab GUI is cut off at the top of the screen, I'm unable to create new FabLab. Any solution for this?

    You have changed your "Interface size" within the Arma video options, then this happens.

    Change this setting back to a smaller size.

    An other solution is to delete this file: @inidbi\db\xCam\xCamWindows.ini

  6. Hi, first of all, many thanks for usefull tool.

    First time i try to save, i have a spam windows error message who said i havent file msvcr120.dll, i only have msvcr100.dll. I downloaded file from internet and paste it on arma 3 main folder. This problem solved but.

    I continue having some problems to export to script, mission ... when i save to mission or other option, saving fail "output error".

    Im running windows 8.1 64.

    Maybe you have to install the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages, but I don't know :(

    You don't have to modify any data, simply watch this video:

    But note: all the objects u want to use need a config. In other words ...

    if you are able to place an object with the Arma 3 mission editor, then this object is also ready for use within the X-Cam.

  8. Thank you for this beautiful creation, beyond awesome! Without a shadow of a doubt, a mod that will probably have most of us hooked and playing more than the game itself...

    I already have had hours of fun using this since the release and have only came across one issue. I placed a bunker in xcam (one item in thousands) and exported it (them) to TB. Whilst all the trees, fences etc. show perfectly the bunker does not load and I get this error:

    Cannot open object xcam\xcam_pipe\xcam_pipe\bunker\bunker_01.p3d

    The files were copied over okay (including to the P drive) and I even tried Dep3d, but still no luck. Am I missing something obvious?

    this object type is part of the object pack "xcam_pipe.pbo" and this pbo was created by Heros.

    So I will ask him about this special object type.

    Hint:

    Most of the objects within the object pack "xcam_pipe.pbo" are original A3 pipe objects,

    but with the behaviour not to react on slope, and that's sometimes really nice to have :)

    EDIT: We managed to fix it, we discovered that for some reason we were missing the Library_pre and Library_Fav folders from our @inidbi\db\xcam directories.

    Me and another person from my group have problems with saving prefabs.

    When we create a prefab named 'Test' for example, we get an error saying "Favorite file 'xCam\Library_Pre\Test' not found.". A prefab named "Test" does appear in the prefab window however. When we try to save it we now get the error "File Test.ini not found.". When we try to save again we just get "File .ini not found.".

    Guys ... as t-800a said before ... all the xCam_* objects are designed for terrain builder import and all these objects have only a simple config.

    That means ... if u want to place houses, containers, whatever, and u want to export a mission or script file from your project,

    then please use the original A3 objects.

    To activate the respective object classes, please watch this part of the "installation'" video:

    For example, if u want to use the original A3 houses, then activate these object classes:

    Structures (Village)

    Structures (Town)

    Structures (Commercial)

    if u press the key, then the selectd object is still selected and the blue boundingbox is visible until u press the spacebar.

    In this "mode" the copy behaviour for example is different, because u are not able to copy this object along the boundingbox anymore.

    That means, if u press the [C] key to copy this object, then the new object is created at the same position as the original object

    and at the first moment u can't see the new object.

    Press and hold down the LMB and move your mouse to find a new position for the new object.

    Press [C] again to create another copy aso. Double-left-click any other saved object to select this object. Press spacebar to exit this mode.

    It's normaly simple and designed to have the camera detached from the object ... so sometimes it's better to control the object by using this mode.

    Potentially related:

    I had some trouble with the secondary movement mode, if I hit B then the camera detaches as expected but there's something strange going on where sometimes the object refuses to move/copy/interact as expected. I've noticed that if I enter the secondary mode and immediately interact with the object it responds, but as soon as the first input is over it seems to stop. Unfortunately I don't have any more specific repro steps, but I'll be playing around with it more today so I'll report back if I figure out what's happening.

    Really impressed with this by the way! The UI alone is excellent, but the functionality is comparable to that offered by professional level design tools I've used before. I hope Moricky and team see this and take some notes for the 3D editor ;)

  12. Quick bug report for ya Silola.

    When selecting objects, if you happen to press the Alt key before you try and move the object, it kinda breaks it and you have to reselect it before it's able to be moved.

    Other than that, loving the work you've done!

    Congratulations on release and thank you for the X-Cam, its amazing.

    After having played around with it for about 3 hours i have found some bugs and thought i would throw them your way.

    The xCam Metal [Rusty] - Rusty_Sheet_Corrg_1m_90 (all corrg sheet metals seem to have this problem) does not have collision for units (you can walk through them) but they do stop bullets. [http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/44249078174113427/5334CFD84D2D8230309A703146AD894003EBF05D/]

    All other sheet metals except sheet_corrg tested so far do not have this problem.

    The xCam Metal [Rusty] sheet metals spawn half way through the ground, so do the sheet_corrg of the other xCam metals aswell.

    When placing an object and it is temporary (not pressed insert yet) if you press escape the object will stay in the game and get a red outline when targeted with Xcam (same as objects already on terrain att start).

    Thats all i have found so far. For future reference where do you want bug reports? in this thread or somewhere else?

    Please note that the (optional) object pbo's are not created by myself.

    So for example, the "xCam_Metal.pbo" and the "xCam_Woodworks.pbo" are created by poolpunk.

    Please send a PM to poolpunk and report this error. Thanks.

    Please do not press [ESC] during you have any object selected or any function is running. That's basicly not a good idea.

    But I will try to find a simple solution within the first update.

  15. I am storing it as pitch/bank and yaw in euler angles in the scripts. Those angles are converted to a vector when the object is updated. This has to do with how you change pitch and bank of the objects. They are manipulated in object, not in global space because it is more intuitive.

    The most functions are in the mb_objectFunctions.sqf if you want to have a look yourself.

    without this functionality.
