What exactly do you mean with "fitted for MP terrains" ??? There is allready a fps counter. If you have a closer look to the status bar at the bottom of the screen. But if I record a video, this counter shows not more then 30 fps, because that's the setting within the record software. You have to watch the videos in 1080p to spot this counter ;) @t-800a: I'll catch you and then ... :coop: Greetings Silola

Welcome to the forum :) What exactly do you mean with "randomise output"? You can randomise all object positions within a selection (a prefab is also a selection), the objects then "swap" their positions with each other, but with a prefab as seen in the video, it makes no sense. A function to create objects/prefabs along a road is possible, but not planned for the X-Cam. The X-Cam should encourage your creativity, and do not support your laziness :p Grettings Silola

Hi, I have prepared a small X-Cam experiment :) The basic idea is to extract certain parts of the prototype map, and then import all the objects as a script file on the VR map. The individual steps of the experiment are as follows: The script file contains data from approximately 26,500 objects that are generated either with or without markers. Things that do not work in this experiment: - Roads can not be detected. - Objects have no Annimation (trees do not move, gates will not open). - The individual scaling value of the objects can not be seen (Scaling is allways 1) - Some objects have a wrong position (height) because the right terrain height model is not available. For this experiment, I have used the "light" version of the prototype map. To reproduce all the steps I've created a video: The demo mission with the appropriate script can be downloaded here: https://mega.co.nz/#!M89kQIgA!cKrIGYGVlCYQI0Qy1jA7QYum9oSgaLtdfk7gkCL Pj8Q Hint: You can run the script experiment only if you have the xcam_prototype map installed, including all required addons. With my comp the script requires round about 15 sec. to create all 26.500 objects (without markers). Greetings Silola

Hi, I am not only working on bug fixing, but also on many usefull functionalities. There are so many things to do. But what happens when the X-Cam is released? There are two things that makes me worry. So many pm's reached my postbox, and I think so many people have not understand what the X-Cam exactly is. Some may think that they can create a complete map with the X-Cam in a few days/weeks, without having to use the official tools. But in principle, the X-Cam can only create content for an existing (empty) map, or an existing mission. That's all. I think many people will be disappointed then :( Others maybe will use the X-Cam for quickly creating new content for Arma 3 and then sold this content within a modification. But I do not want this. And now? I don't know. Greetings Silola

X-Cam prototype map 1.0 released
silola replied to silola's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hi, @all: many thanks for all the nice comments :) We know, the performance is not the best, but it's a bit tricky to create detailed areas with good performance. Silola -
X-Cam prototype map 1.0 released
silola replied to silola's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hi, Please note that not only Silola has worked on this map. So the "thanks" has to go to the whole team ;-) We know the problem. This is the price for the amount of detail. For this reason, we have also made a "low density" version. Please try this version and tell us if You get better frames. If not ... You need to buy new hardware :p Silola -

X-Cam prototype map 1.0 released
silola replied to silola's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hi and thanks all :) @D787: Please update your AiA TP Silola -
Hi, as I said before, there will be 2 different versions of the map: Prototype_HD (high density) and Prototype_LD (low density). The HD version contains about 600,000 objects and the LD version contains about 340,000 objects. The objects which have been reduced, consist exclusively vegetation objects such as additional clutter objects, small stones and bushes. Of course, the HD version looks much nicer, but the SD version is much better to play. To give you an idea of how the difference is, I've made a couple of comparison shots. What do you think about these two versions? Hint: The top image shows always the HD version :) [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] Greeting Silola

I have the same thoughts, because spectacular looks different. Ok, the map doesn't look bad at all, considering in what period of time this map was produces. The first import we made at the beginning of September this year. So it is more a "quick" prototype map. Not all objects have been placed perfectly and we not turned around every single stone. Maybe you will find some bushes which stuck in walls, or trees that grow from stones, and of course the map looks a bit different in different areas, because different people creates different content. But the final result should be satisfactory, I think. Silola [/img]

On the last meters the motivation goes down :( [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] Silola

My rig (used for all the videos): i7 2600k@defaultSpeed GTX 780 with 3GB vram 16 GB RAM 3 x 256 GB SSD Samsung 830 Win7 64-bit The primary frame killer at this map is the viewdistance because the object density is high, in some areas very high. The videos running with 2000m viewdistance, but if we play a MP DAC mission, we reduce the viewdistance to 1000m. And this is not really a bad thing, because there are so many objects in front of you, that u can't see all the objects in the distance ;) It's a real challenge if you fight against the AI within the HD areas, and it's true ... the AI is not really able to drive on these "nice looking" roads. Maybe the AI has the same problem as we have: We allways looking to the right and to the left, because is't so beautiful around the roads :p As you can see in the picture down below, I only get 11 FPS, but this is because I have increased the viewdistance to 5000m and the shadowdistance to 1500m. Both are real framekiller. If you set these settings to normal values, you get playable framerates. [/img] Greeting Silola

... all the pictures shows the internal version of the map. With the release u will get the better looking version of course :p

silola replied to icebreakr's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
IceBreakr, this is another masterpiece from you. The community can be glad that there are people like you out there !!! I admire your stamina, because it is extremely difficult to keep the motivation up to the end. And I mean the motivation for only one project, but you work simultaneously on multiple projects. Unbelievable Hold on and many thanks for your amazing work. :) Greeting Silola
