I need at least some photos or videos of those massacres. Because eyewitness reports are too different - some say about many wounded, some say only about gang members that were ass-kicked while trying to get some stuff from shops. Both of them were in the areas of so called protests. Again, all I've watched doesn't look like massacre or fierce fighting between rebels and government troops. Show me real proofs, otherwise all this mess around Libya is nothing like reports about russian tanks in Gori in 08.08.08 (total lies).
-
Well... I'm asking again, where are the proofs of those massacres? All Quaddafi did is fighting with armed rebellion. Where are the footages of those houndreds of murdered and houndreds of destructed houses?
-
Unfortunately, during last years the international policy and interests and benefits of the state aren't affiliated with each other.
-
It doesn't matter now, terrorist he or not. Now he fights with armed rebellion, which is a crime in all countries. I doubt that those french, british or US citizens who would act like libyan so called rebels will stay alive for more than a week or two.
-
Speaking about Su-25, it takes rather small amount of time to fix it or to make afterflight check or prepare it to the next flight. By this parameters it was the best aircraft during Afghan war. And it may be operated from rather small and remoted airfields. And... it's still produced:D
-
O RLY? And where are proofs? Any videos, photos? Yes, there was some footage of blood and wounded people. But still there's no proofs of "thousands of massacred civilians murdered by crazy dictator". Unfortunately arabs aren't good warriors now, so ejecting because of some malfunction in plane systems (which can be solved by rather well trained pilot) are not something seldom happening among 3rd world armies. And some media reports claim that defected Mirages were french:rolleyes: BTW, has anybody photos of those planes in daylight or with clearly visible insignias?
-
I should not say Su-25 is expensive to operate, repair an build. In Afghan war it became primary and most effective CAS aircraft because it is much easier to operate, repair and maintain than all-weather Su-17 armed with large amount of guided weapons. And it was much more effective than Su-17 in mountain terrain with small hidden targets. I suppose A-10 is the same. BTW, both of them even in basic versions can use guided weapons.

To be honest, Talibans were mad fanatics, but they controlled most of the country and weren't tolerate to drug-dealers. And they were the only serious force in the country. Earlier all governments in 1970-1990s tried to make country stable - either by their own forces or with soviet assistance. West can ignore a few dozen deaths? So why does not it do this in Libya?
-
True. I'm sick of "have money and know some people=have rights" situation.
-
Let the people in those countries solve the problems by themselves - they will do it better than EU or NATO forces. Involvement of Europe or NATO will just increase casualties. Arabs can manage with their relations between themselves much better and faster than any of us. So don't bother them until you want to get another endless violence and anarchy like that in Iraq or Afghanistan.
-
Better to bomb Bahraini and Saudi armies. They do the same as Quaddafi. If EU is so concerned about human rights of arabs - it should bash not only another bad guy but all the regimes that violate right of its population.
-
Stupid resolution... It should prevent casualties among civilians, but how can you avoid them if Quaddafi's forces will stay in cities? There are no so smart bombs and missiles that can 100% hit a tank or APC without damaging any civilian infrastructure.
-
Now you're fighting mud hoppers, but what if in some years those hoppers will recieve 4+ fighters and well trained pilots for them? During cold war we thought that we will fight only high tech armies but not some guerillas. And then 80's came... Can't buy A-10 or Su-25?

Australians At War - Combined Ops

Latest CBA version solved the problem.:) But I have the same issue as tpw: -
But amount of heroin and other drugs coming from Afghanistan increased after starting OEF. During Taliban rule it was significantly smaller than in 2001-nowdays. So we don't know what ISAF really does with drug problem. It seems like nothing. I doubt that they get much money from their plantations. I even doubt that they have ones. If it was so than they would have far more modern weapons and equipment (ATGMs, MANPADS, communications, sniper rifles, modern mines and explosive devices). Mostly they have 70-80's era soviet and chinese weapons.

Population of regions surrounding Chechnya now can live like others in the country, that's the difference. Again, Chechnya is part of Russian Empire/USSR/Russian Federation for some centuries. BTW, Georgia was too. So why do you try to compare counter-separatist war in Chechnya with invasion of independent countries such as Iraq, Yugoslavia, Grenada, Panama, Haiti? Were those countries parts of US? I don't watch it because I don't trust media much, either my domestic or foreign. And advice you to do the same and not to believe in fairytales about evil monsters who order to kill civilians just for lulz. Google translator will help you:) It looks like some persons' experience in different cities exchanging with info with each other, BTW they watch both international media and state libyan TV and compare them. And those persons realise that all that horrors at TV or news sites is BS more than at 3/4.

It will take about 10 hours for me to get in Grozny by car. I live not far from there. And I have some mates (chechens) of different ages living (or lived) there. Enough? I still remember weekly reports from the border of Stavropol region and Chechnya in 1996-1999, which counted number of gang raids, kidnappings, murders etc. commited by gangs of former "fighters for free Chechnya", who didn't want to work hard but wanted to get all they need fast. In what period of time? Aren't you kidding? Forces of 201st division were enough only for some help to border guard troops and defence of tadjik-afghan border, and for defence of their own quarters against UTO and afghan mudjaheeden. Formally Abhazia and Kosovo are not independent. But don't forget they have absolutely different story of getting their current status. Similar? Name any conflict that was organised by Russia with massive media campaign against unfriendly country followed by attack and overthrow of its regime and then even assasination of its leader. Russia Today? I don't watch it. I would believe people who work there, not in cosy hotel but at different sites - railways, powerlines etc. They don't sit at one room only. Haven't you tried to read his post?

Within ruling of this dictator Libya had one of the highest incomes of its citizens among other arabian countries. And Libya is not clerical medieval state like Saudi Arabia. That's it. I bet you haven't met and spoken with chechens IRL. But I do. So not so many of them think that after independence they will become wealthy, happy and respected. They were independent from Russia in 1996-1999, and only they had is something like civil war between different gang leaders. No government, no work, no payments, no laws (oh, the only law - "you will live good if you belong to powerful clan and have AK").
-
Georgia? I would really wish you not to live in Sukhum or Tshinval in 1992 and to meet some georgian Mhedrioni or army guys. That would end up very bad to you. So recent conflict has its roots back in 1991-1992 and Gamsakhurdia nationalist regime (one of his favorite phrases was "Georgia - only for georgians"). Moldova? What do you know about it? And who tried to overthrow Snegur? Moldavian nationalists and army were kicked back from Transnistria, that's true. But you'd better watch some footage which depicted those who was murdered by moldavian nationalists (russians, ukrainians, belorussians). Chechnya? Heh, it's part of Russia. Nuff said. Tajikistan? Rahmonov is ruling there till now. He won the president's chair in civil war. You was told that he's insane and believe it. Sad. Just an hour ago I've read LJ post of one of workers (russian) who left Libya. What he says and shows on photo looks is just opposite to all Al-Jazeera and other media BS. Quaddafi ald Libya face mediawar, the main purpose of which is to make people like you, Maturin, to shout "He's insane!!! He will kill thousands!!! Go and smash him and whole his country!!!". The same was told about Hussain and Miloshevich. All I've read in the posts of that blogger - there's no any opposition which is shown on YouTube and TV. All that protests, fierce firefights are 80% BS. The crowds of people not fight but fire in nowhere and search something to steal. He was laughing when some media like CNN or Al Jazeera told that another bunch of generals joined opposition, and at the same time this generals were shown at state libyan TV live reports with Quaddafi:D This is the post (in russian), anyone, who wants, can translate it and read.

I was not far from Osetia at that time, in the places of "2nd front" opened by Abhazians:) "another small successful war" - I meant another conflict broken up by US to overthrow unfriendly regime. Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan - Libya may be among them in nead future, unfortunately. All I can is to wish good luck to Quaddafi. I hope he wouldn't become second Hussain or Miloshevich.
-
Seems like another scarecrow is activated to help with starting "another small successful war"©. All this story looks for me just like others with Saddam Hussain, Bin Laden and Slobodan Miloshevich. ...oh yeah, and media works just like in 08.08.08 during 2nd osetian war.

A.I. gunner should not open hatch when player commander opens hatch
spooky lynx replied to roguetrooper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I think tank commander should really have ability to unbutton alone, but for only one reason - to fire machinegun (M2 or NSV/DShK). -

Sad but true. Especially for those with average PCs but not hi-end systems. -
Don't see any strange in the large amount of different units on the RACS side. Personally I preferred to arm them with american armor but french aircrafts.

Steam - opinions and experiences survey
spooky lynx replied to maruk's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
No no no! Please don't make any of your game 'Steam only'! Troubles with inability to use all this system without updates or internet connection are enough for me. Many times I was unable just to open it because of 'steam is not ready for working offline (something like that in english translation)' error message. Even more times I was unable to play HL2 and Episodes/mods without sheduled update or just offline. So I'd say the worst you can do with ArmA series is to make it 'steam only'. Personally I don't want to have one of my favorite games so dependant from internet connection.
