I suppose it's simple butthurt, because at least here I don't see much critics from members from countries forming base of EU. But tons of panic and anger from citizens of states that unfortunately feel not very well in case of economics and who cry about 1939 'never forget never forgive such horror' but happily forget about own sins happened just year earlier.

I know that too. That's why I can't understand maidan and ruining remains of already weakened economy. Elections had been planned this year, that was a matter of several months, so people could have peaceful and legal way to change 'thief Yanuk' instead of wrecking the whole country. You may say elections would be corrupted but I'd say all the gatherings and activities may be used not for maidan but for supervising election comissions and bulletins count. That would help a lot. Meanwhile Harkiv protesters caught 'unpolite man' wearing uniform of "Sokol" special unit (watch from 0:45). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9mSvoN2OWA

The problem is that Yanuk's current opponents and rivals belong to the same corrupt type. Poroshenko, Grigyan aka Timoshenko etc. All them are either oligarchs or former politicians (who have their own dirty deeds).

Harkiv citizens report that foreign mercenaries are used against them, wearing suits of "Jaguar" MVD special unit based in Vinnitsa- "They understand or speak neither Russian nor Ukrainian, so we call them deaf jaguars".

This majority arrived in Kosovo only some decades before and became true majority after expulsion of most of Serbian population due to actions of UCK and their supporters. And those mass murders of rebels and their supporters... well, you know, it is named counter-insurgency and is absolutely lawful, except the cases of rebels being sponsored by 'free world';) BTW the same situation with Russian population in Baltic states (the fact that many of them settled there in recent century or after 40's) is concidered as excuse for not to follow European language standards. So does that mean that Albanians are people of higher grade and deserve independent state and Russians are of lower grade and don't deserve even their language being used as the second state or regional one? Or should Russians living in Baltic form their own UCK with blackjack and hookers and fight for freedom? Oh what could you expect if not 'technical glitch'?:D And the fact that that glitch occured during Crimea escalation - pure coincidence, nothing else.

Just like YouTube suspension of RT account, for sure by coincidence after Crimea mess. You know, such measures are often used, and using it by YouTube (RT, SyriaTube etc.) does not differ from using it by RF government.

Well, AFAIK neither grani.ru nor especially kasparov.ru are not major news sites. They represent the opposition point of view, so it does not make them truly independent. Oh and I read Echo of Moscow often but hadn't noticed it was blocked. So again infowar at its best - naming two opposition sites 'major independent news' ones.

  12. Exactly. GAI was USSR name and now it is used informally, official one is DPS (introduced around 1995 if I'm not mistaken). In USSR both regular and road branches of militia used the same color scheme, the difference was only in GAI letters. And dark blue hull main color was sometimes used but with lighter blue stripes and it was used in last year of USSR existence together with white and silver/grey hull colors (nobody cared much about paint schemes in those days). Dark blue with red stripe was used until 60's and VAZ with such scheme may be of civil origin, just painted with old scheme. Some old VAZ and Volga cars are painted with USSR militia scheme just for fun by private owners.
  13. DPS - means "дорожно-поÑÑ‚Ð¾Ð²Ð°Ñ Ñлужба", traffic service, post-soviet GAI equivalent name. From what I remember from my childhood - paintscheme in late 80's was yellow or orange hull with dark blue or dark violet stripes and letters, both at regular Militia cars and GAI ones. Some of UAZ-469s were painted with tan or olive green with dark blue or violet stripes. After 1991 until aprox. 2000 main hull color of VAZ or GAZ cars was white with blue stripes.

It created very nasty precedent in modern world politics and international law: a coalition of a countries forced separation of the region from other country. Moreover military forces of that coalition de-facto took the side of one nation and helped it to get rid of another one. And what is most disturbing -that countries have enough impudence to teach us how to behave. Well, at least we hadn't bombed the whole Ukraine for a couple of months, ruining lots of civil buildings and killing several hundreds of civilians and supported a referendum but not some one-side decision of local self-proclaimed parliament. Oh and we hadn't fabricated mass murderings of Russians to excuse the bombings of Ukraine.

Regarding Abhasia, most of its citizens were for re-union with Russia after the war and before it (most of the population voted for staying in USSR and prolongation of union treaty during that famous referendum). But after some steps of our government they got used to live in unrecognized state and don't believe to Russian officials much anymore. And I understand them very much at least because of our glorious customs servicemen there (I hate them:mad:).

Regarding betrayal... Well, how will you name those servicemen who signed in newly formed ex-Yugoslavia and ex-USSR states' armed forces? All of them gave an oath to serve one country but then joined other military. And in many cases (especially in Yugoslavia and some ex-USSR states) they often broke an oath for sake of their nations' interests. So how could those countries trust these persons especially when they either deserted or ssbotaged their duty?

I'm just astonished about how many people dream to be occupied by Russia. Almost everything they talk about is "ZOMG evil Russkies will rush tomorrow!!!1". Sure occupation is just a prize for junta - no need to pay huge debts, no need to do anything for economy rescue. No need to rebuild all the social institutes and disarm all that armed groups at the streets. No need to take personal responsibility for all the flaws and failures. Just sit somewhere in cosy Europe and rant about evil occupants. The more internal problems appear in Ukraine - the more rumors about hordes of Russian soldiers ready to cross the border are thrown into media. And I mention the same behavior not only in Ukraine. Some other ex-USSR countries that failed to build a well-working state cry about possible Russian occupation from time to time. BTW I understand their thoughts: it's much easier to blame the 'occupants' from abroad than confess that after all the loud and boastful words about independence they are not able to manage a well-working state system even with a good starting conditions.

Exactly. Just like Israel and USA are concerned about every Russia-Syria or Russia-Iran weapon deal. The first even does not give a excrements about violation of foreign airspace and bombs every suspected military base or convoy in nearby country. Indeed we should take the methods of free world long ago instead of looking at relaxing UNSO members returned from vacations in Chechnya from our side of the border.

We have really nothing to do with all that worn-out vehicles, there are plenty of the same ones at our own storage bases. Personally me think we should store them or sell somewhere far abroad just to prevent them of being used by National guard or some other far right groups in Ukraine.

Crimea is the slightest variant of punishment, I'd say. Other countries that host terrorist organizations or their affiliates face massive airstrikes all over the territory and military occupation with tens of civilians dying from mistaken air and drone strikes.

So called annexation of Crimea, stealing the land from poor Ukrainians is widely spoken here. But I'd like to remind of some moment: since 1992 Ukraine gave a green light to UNA-UNSO whose members took part in almost every conflict against Russia. They sided with Chechen terrorists and then returned home safely and escaped any prosecution (except a couple of cases). The same thing caused operation Enduring Freedom. Other thing is that Ukraine armed regime hostile to us. And those weapons used against officially recognized and approved peacekeepers.

Considering Yanuk's regime Russian puppet is huge mistake, it was just not so anti-Russian as current junta. Yanuk was famous for his constant will to seat at two chairs and run from Russia to EU and back. It was he who stated official Ukrainian course as sign a treaty with EU. But one Russian proverb says 'if you run for two rabbits - you will lose both them'.

A li'l bit offtopic: the whole "independent information" term is rather diffused. Independent from what or from who? If the meaning is "independent from officials" - why does it automatically mean such information has more truth in it? Every more or less large media outlet has its own owners. These owners belong to large business groups and often have their own views in politics and other fields. So shouldn't we say "officials' information" and "business groups information" instead? Meanwhile Ukrainian court ordered to quit broadcasting of four Russian TV channels.
