Judging about ehm... poor Moldovan, Albanian and now Ukrainian economics and the whole appearance of that countries and seeing rather successful, calm, cosy and clean Belarus I suppose not everybody are happy being free and democratic but still shytehole. As for thinking of Putin as the same as them - don't be so naive. It's all about interruption of transformation of Ukraine into spearhead of attack on us. Noone really cares about human rights or political system in this world. So called democracies are happy to be friends of hardest dictatorships if it suits their interests. If it does not, the targeted country may be anything but still be labeled as cruel dictatorship and destroyed.

US-foreign aid agency infiltrated Cuban hip-hop scene to spark youth unrest
spooky lynx replied to oxmox's topic in OFFTOPIC
Excuse me but recent US-style promotions for democracy (for example in Iraq, A-stan, Libya, former Yugoslavia and ex-USSR countries) led only to unrests, civil wars, falls of economics in targeted countries, massive rise of opiates production and so on. So bravo to Cuban govt. And screw such democracy promotions. -
Indeed, nobody wants to meet another Guinean maid...

I would be very glad if such news would not be defined like "Evil Putin forced facebook to suspend his rivals' pages". I bet citizens of free and democratic Moldova, Albania and now Ukraine would like to have such dictator... Sure. But why this contract had been signed then? Putin was the same at that time. Really good idea would be not to sign it at all. But just before Ukrainian escalation nobody cared about transferring weapons and technologies to bloody dictator. It's not about regime or someone's political system. Just think before signing the deal and either do it till the end or don't do at all. Don't mix politics and economics - you'll lose in both. After all this mess with Mistrals many of future clients will think twice before ordering anything in France as there's no guarantee that such situation will not be repeated.
-
Maybe because his first goal is to make something good for his own little country. And maybe because Belarus is small but independent state and has an ability to provide their own politics. BTW it's not the first time Bulbash says something that pisses off Kremlin. But at the same time he still hadn't done anything that harms our relations. At the same time mr. Hollande couldn't resist his Black Overlord and ordered suspension of Mistral deal despite heavy losses both in money and reputation of French arms industry. Do you know anything about blocking an accounts of various bloggers in Livejournal who have pro-Novorossia position? I saw at least four blogs with thousands readers each that had been suspended either temporary or permanently during recent months.

ACE'd Project 85 version 2.1 Released
spooky lynx replied to keeway's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Will it work without ACE? Or is it completely unplayable without it? -
To be honest we should go further to Tbilisi. To prevent any other attempt of showing who is greater nation, performed by Georgians at least three times since 1991. Nope. Russia, Georgia and special detachment formed by North Osetians. It's the first. Second, fire at the villages inhabited mostly by Georgians was always provoked by Georgian army or MVD troops who opened fire on Osetian side. Osetians want only one thing - to leave Georgia, but not shell some average batono from nearby village. Did they win? Really? But who were those men running out of Abhasia in september of 1993, dropping their arms and vehicles? And if they crushed the rebellion then why there were two unrecognized states established? Why hadn't I seen Georgian administration in Sukhum after the war?
-
I'll correct you: moved some more troops to support and reinforce peacekeepers who had been attacked. Officially Russian army had already been there since 1991. Note, it had been there legally according to internationally recognized agreenment also signed by Georgia.
-
Sure thing, supporting separatism and terrorism (yep those article about Chechen 'dissidents' that took a hostages in Moscow in 2001), installing a number of military bases around our borders, performing revolutions in nearby countries and even direct agressions against countries friendly to Russia, arming Georgian regime and pushing it to agression against us - it's Russia who destroyed good relations with the west:D:D:D BTW if such things like I've described are named "good relations" - screw it. "You don't need the enemies with such friends"© Oh and if you refer to 08.08.08 - if I'm not mistaken still there's no any official conclusion that Russia started that war. On the countrary, a lot more point at Mishiko.
-
Yes. LEOs in peaceful city aren't ready for attack 24/7. Unlike their colleagues in Ingushetia and Dagestan. You know, Chechnya is rather calm place for several years already.
-
That's the other side of peace.
-
A crowd of local MIA troops armed with everything from PKs to RPGs with support of BTRs were quite enough to deal with that group of snackbars. There was no need to call for helos.
-
MIA forces do have some armed Mi-8s and Mi-24s but they are of older versions, so firing a salvo of FFARs against a dozen of allahakbars in a dencely populated city is not smart at all. As for BTRs - they used KPVTs at those battle, it is shown on other videos.

Nice to see some close-range AA assets, that's what is needed most among air defence stuff in Arma scales. Some two cents from me: - SA-22 you've made is based on wheeled chassis. It is primarily used for guarding airfields and other important objects and supporting long-range AA systems. How about adding the same thing but on tracked chassis? https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9F%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%86%D0%B8%D1%80%D1%8C-%D0%A11#mediaviewer/File:Pantsir-S1_SAM_at_Engineering_Technologies_2012.jpg It has the same chassis as Tunguska. And it will have more roles in the game as using unprotected large wheeled one for guarding army columns or against ground targets is not a smart idea:) Tracked vehicle with at least some armor will definitely have more roles.

SBU. Google 'trains of friendship' that were organized for the first time back in 1992.

Obama's revenge for Chinese photos?:) "Get out of the Ukraine. Then we will get in it"?
-
Yes it's hypocrisy but who cares? They do what is profitable and good for themselves and they have a power to do it. Rule of strong is still actual.
-
Maybe they do, but vehicles may be at storage bases and in horrible condition, so making them operational may cost as much as buying some similar from abroad. And buying may save much time (sometimes restoring takes much more time than bringing from other country). Note that both BREM and IMR are made on T-72 chassis so Ukrs have difficulty in getting spares. Ukrs already ordered some T-72s from Hungary, I suppose because of that reasons. They also broke the deal with Congo and brought modernised T-64s that were already paid by Congolese to their own forces.

Here's another pic from similar position: Maybe it's not WZT-3 but WZT-4 (it has crane on right side of the hull) or MID vehicle, based on PT-91.
-
WZT-3 repair vehicle of Polish origin. I hadn't seen any info about Ukraine buying armored vehicles from Poland though. At the same time I've read rumors about arriving of group of Polish SPGs and support vehicles with crews to Odessa seaport some months ago. But I may be wrong and just hadn't seen some news about Poland providing Ukraine with military help. P.S. And one more thing - no usual white stripes painted on UA vehicles.

I'll just leave it here. https://pp.vk.me/c620520/v620520257/15661/F8SNsi55OUc.jpg (155 kB)

Oh sure... Their ones are spies, ours are recons...© I ask again: why nobody among EU&US political establishment expressed open support to internal opposition and 'pro-democratic' protests in Qatar but does the opposite in Hongkong and Ukraine? Why Qatari opposition was openly smashed and their camp had been deomlished with army heavy vehicles (and Saudis ordered their army to help and driven it to Qatar) without any reaction like sanctions, weapon supplies or airstrikes (like in Syria and Libya) but Ukrainian, Syrian (earlier - Libyan) and Hongkong one is openly supported? Is it because Qatari protesters were Putin's agents?
-
O RLY? And how many weapons and equipment were transferred to Qatari or Saudi opposition from EU or US? Or how many combat sorties were performed against those countries? Or maybe will you be so kind to list some heavy sanctions that were applied to that countries by EU and US? My glorious state's propaganda may not show them so maybe you will show it? Or maybe you will show at least any western higher politician that visited Qatari protesters and openly declared the support like at maidan in Ukraine?
-
Suddenly every people seeking for freedom in Qatar or Saudi Arabia get overrun by tanks and nobody cares. I wonder why? And this mess looks too similar to Ukrainian one. Even that chick performing English-speaking appeal in teh internet. Again some color symbols and peaceful protests at the beginning quickly escalated by protesters, together with quick reaction from some politicians. Too many similarities among that 'searches of freedom' for me.
