You can't select it yet as it isn't officially supported in this patch and possibly has issues with shadows ingame. The UI element is placed there for future implementation I guess. If you wish to turn on AA you have to manually edit your .cfg and change the FSAA=0 value to either 1, 2 or 3. More details in this post.

I think it states that you do not have to be connected to the internet to start the game or play it. MP being the exception ofcourse.

Language does not matter, if you've patched your german version to 1.02, you can play with anyone who has 1.02 installed. So yes, all the distributions are compatible in MP as long as they're patched properly.

All versions can play together in MP with 1.02.

Calm down ladies. Someone said: "They said all versions will be the same", I remember that actually being "All versions will be compatible", in reference to Multiplayer compatibility, but that's just off the top of my head as I don't have the source of that handy. Also, another post I'd like to remind everyone of: Now, what I read that post like: "Out of the box, these versions will be in these languages, but we are not leaving out the possibility of adding all languages to all versions in a future patch." If you assumed that patch would be 1.02, or exist at all, that's another story.

As for the reason, I don't think BI ever specified a specific reason you asked for, and left it up to your imagination. What we know is that CDF and the goverment asked for help, and someone responded, it turned out to be US and the USMC. Why did they do it since it doesn't benefit them in any way? Nobody knows, but we can imagine that BI imagined a world where there are selfless people, who'd come to help without any benefits for them.

Please do not discuss politics and analyze real life conflicts and such here. If you wish to discuss events of real life conflicts and such, there's plenty of offtopic threads for that.

You can discuss patch 1.02 here. This has nothing to do with troubleshooting.

New to ArmA thread.

Select sections of How not to get shot, IFF, Common skills and possibly Combat Lifesaver are probably the most beneficial to have for a quick-start guide, as they explain the folks new to the game how to survive longer, take care of the team mates, not to shoot at everything that moves and some other basics that are different to your typical FPS.

I believe it only means that it's inadvisable to load the saved games from the missions already in progress. Just restarting the mission you're on at the moment should suffice I think.
