Will this have any effect on performance? Like, lots of enemies with a slow update speed on the map in the same area?

This is a very lucky M60. It narrowly avoided 16 AT-6 missiles from a V-80 that was hovering like 4 feet from the ground, about 50 metres behind me. That, or the V-80 is crap. (Which it is. :P) Anyway... he didn't avoid my RPG-7... PS: Is that challenger tank up for download?

Pity that it'd eat the CPU up... I really love the tree animations in Ghost Recon. (Staring up at the sun with the trees blowing in the wind, creaking included is SOOO sexy.) It would be lovely to see it in OFP.

Hi, I have been making a simple mission on the Trinity Island to promote the BAS Deltas and Laser's naval infantry. It's not gigantic, and it lags quite heavily. I was even playing the "marines" mission which is bundled with the Russian naval infantry mission and had no lag. I think the problem is that there is possibly too much activity. The base you start off near has a URAL truck drive out of it and head off (only two waypoints) and there's a squad of 5 naval infantry troops patrolling in the base. (A triangular arrangement with two move waypoints and a cycle waypoint.) Down away from the base is your objective. A Shilka. The Shilka's crew are relaxing outside it, but will jump in whenever anyone is killed. (A very large string of; NOT (alive man1) OR NOT (alive man2) AND etc. Is this what is lagging it? It is pretty large. (There are about 20 troops, 6 crew and two vehicles including the Shilka. When either of the vehicles are destroyed/disabled it will trigger the crews also.) Other notes: There is an MI24 hind that flies over the enemy base around the time you reach the village that you snipe the first base from and flies down by the waterside and flies away. There is also a BMP and a T80 that drives across the bridge and heads to the town Koul. (Another objective.) I had the soldiers in the town Koul with waypoints too. But Now I've set it up so they only start walking around when you get within range.) Now, to be honest, I have no idea why it's lagging quite so badly. Anyone else want to assist? Edit: fixed something in the post.

WOW. The 1st and 4th pictures of the Hind are truly amasing.

Another way is to put this into the helicopter's Init field: "this flyinheight 0" that way it won't take off. And then just put "choppername flyinheight choosealt" in the next waypoint. ;) That way the helicopter's rotors will be spinning.

Looks like I have had another "OFP moment"... I was playing on the BAS Blackhawk mission (the one where you get to fly the blackhawks, not sit in the cargo) and all things had gone to plan. I had dropped the deltas off at the radio tower so they could sabotage it, and then I picked them up. I then dropped them off at the barracks and gave them covering fire from above at 2000 rounds per minute. I was then told to evac some Non-combatants that were about 500m away. So I go there, and a shilka, which was about 1000m started firing at me. Me being me, I got cocky and flew towards it, trying to take it out with the minigun. Suddenly, my armour was at 20% and my fuel was nill. I span towards the ground JUST OUTSIDE the village where the shilka was. Erk. I wasn't hurt badly in the crash, and the shilka was still a problem. I jumped out and told #2 to hold his position. Resorting to desperate measures, I chucked a few frag grenades at it. It blew up! I saved it just after that... so my survival is still at stake. But wow, I love having to survive after crashing. (All the other missions I've played involved the mission ending when you bail out/crash. Which leaves a sour taste in the mouth...)

Nice pic, but I hate the V-80 with a vengeance. Ugly, inpractical, and hard to fly. It's only good aspect is that it has 12 AT6's or something. I'm far more leathal in an mi17. And that's a transport chopper for crying-out-loud. Edit: Damn, sorry about that. For some reason I hit the second-last page. Anyway, it's in reply to Mr. Burns's lovely Mi24/V80 image. Sexy pictures as usual, lupus. Give me your computer, darn it.

Johnny? His name is Johnny? Aww, how cute! Soon, you'll be doing a stealth-only mission with Gastovski, and all of a sudden, Johnny will sneak up on you, and put a knife through the base of your skull. (He's a ninja...)

Thanks. Looks like i'm in luck. Lots of effort have been put into it.

Hi there, friends. I'm a fan of the AH-1 Cobra, and all it's varients. The AH-1W in particular. I really think someone should make one for OFP. It'd definetely be better than just remodeling/texturing the current BIS AH-1. Here's a site with a few great shots. And now, some pictures from my server: It looks so much sleeker than a standard AH-1, doesn't it? You know you want to make one...
-
Wow. I honestly can't wait.

Sorry, but no. Every time I have tried to use an anti tank rocket from a rooftop in ECP, it has ended with me stuck inside the building model. I even turned it off and used every single anti tank launcher I have (from the BIS LAW to the BAS AT4) and they worked a charm. Maybe you should turn off backblast? I'm pretty sure that's what is doing it.

This game looks fantastic. I watched the trailer with my jaw dangling about my ankles. The theme... the ... everything. The way it started was great, with all the live action footage, and the way it changed from live action to in game was almost seamless! The game also has the VSS Vintorez. My faveorite russian sniper rifle. And why is everyone in such a huff about the weapon ports on the wrong side? I barely noticed, and I'm a gun nut. (Though, they should have had it so the main character is left handed. )

I think I've found a huge bug with ECP. When I fire *any* anti tank/air launcher (hand held of course) from on top of a building (in any case, including the apartments on nogova and random buildings on BAS Tonal) the guy falls straight through all the way to the bottom floor cause of that back blast! This is a *huge* annoyance for me, because I usually take out tanks from higher ground.

The only units that really need replacing/remodeling/skinning are the aircraft. The tanks and cars are mint, if you ask me. I mean, the M1A1 and M2 Bradley look sexy still, (the M2 moreso) and things like Humm Vees and Urals and such also look the part. But yeah, the aircraft are showing their age.

Thanks. We aim to please. (I think.) :P

Ooo, they have Tokyo Marui airsoft guns. I wonder why they didn't put the SIG 550/551 into the game. Great gun that. *waiting for his M733 custom to be built*

A beautiful picture. It came out well. EDIT: More I saw a great picture of a British army soldier just about to hold an M240 mounted machinegun with the sun just in the background, so I tried to emulate it. I love this one.

Rangers lead the way.

where failed is you can have "done", "failed", "hidden" and "active" so if I understand you right, you will probebly want another objective to appear, so then in the init.sqs you would have "1" objstatus "hidden" and for when the new objective is revealed where the old objective is made a failure, put also "1" objstatus "active" Thanks! I would have already tested stuff like that. (I already know how to do "1" objstatus "hidden" and "1" objstatus "active") But my PC is going slow as hell, and is awaiting an upgrade. (In a few days. 256mb ram is just NOT cutting it, so I'm getting a 512mb stick to go in there.) So... I didn't have the patience to put up with the snail pace.

Heyo. Okay, in a mission I am making, (that uses a few lovely addon units) after you complete you 'only' objective, you were originally planned to extract using 3 motorbikes for your team. But Papa Bear wants you to do some more work, so you have to go back to the bikes, and ride them over to Bravo's position. Now, how do I make the objective get crossed out with the red cross? Any help is appreciated.

Red Vs Blue... possibly the best comedy on the net. Whenever I'm in Halo LANS on my xbox, I always use one-liners from it. My friends, who haven't seen it, are like "WTF?"
-
That'd be really handy. I'm one of those guys that takes things slow, and tries to keep track of enemy positions. It'd be absolutely ideal for a mission I'm making... enemy units are moving almost all the time. It'd be cool if you could link to notepad or something.

Great stuff. By the way: When you update the F15e, will you be fixing this problem with the lack of engine noise in the cockpit? (Unless it's my computer that's not working right. )
