I implore you BIS for the greater good of humanity and for your own personal reputations, please oh god please I beg you, change the name of this game. AmrA II is just bad beyond belief. It is seriously the stupidest name I've every heard in my life. Can you guys seriously not think of anything better? You guys can't honestly have a heart felt attachment to the name "ArmA" can you? I mean it really is just awful, every time I read the name "ARMA" or "Armed Assault" I just feel sorry for you guys, every time I say "ARMA" aloud rather than reading it I end up feeling ashamed and mentally impaired. Please, you must change this game's name. If you don't your company may go down in the annuals of gaming history as the developers who unleashed the stupidest title for a game ever on humanity. You guys are better than this.

I just received ARMA as a gift and am trying to get into the game. However when ever I look in the general direction of the sun it becomes way too bright, I'd say on my computer about 25% to 33% of the sky is blinding pure white. It's like the sun is to close to the earth or something. When I look away from the sun it gets too dark, about the only time it looks just right is if I look straight down at my feet. Now for me this is a major problem is it gives me a bad headache after 10 minutes or so. Is this glare effect DDR? If so is it possible my video card just cannot handle it and that's why it's so over powered? I guess most of all, is there a way to turn it off? I really want to like this game but I have trouble enjoying anything when I get a headache and my retinas are burned out. Please help

Props to Harry for serving and a pox on the media for reporting this. I say take the media hacks who reported his location and lock them away for treason. Loose ships sink ships, we are at war. Reporting troop locations and such is not free speech, it's treason and espionage. Lock them the tower of London. By your logic if they hate coalition troops being there so much they could "simply travel across the border." they aren't though so I guess by your logic they are cool with us being there. The internet makes me lose all hope for mankind. Try looking at any youtube video and read the comments.  It can be a video about kittens and puppys and within 3 comments every one will be saying "%#&@ you yanks, I wish you all died in 9/11" or "France always surrenders!" or "We saved Europe during world war 2" or "x nation is better than nation y" though usually the comments are written out in such a format as to look like a blind ape typed it with it's  flat nose. Example, (actual youtube comment follows) "yeah coz we shout and screm while we walk. try this 1 while u walk. 'your mamma blows goats'............ " Screm? 1? coz? Sigh

I want to create a custom face. I have Wipmans template which is very usefull do to the wire frame. However I would like to use a different default face to start from, one which does not have stubble or a beard for example. So my question is which PBO contains the default faces?

On Wednesday's game we were unable to play any Tonal Special Forces missions as many people would crash do to missing addon messages and other problems. The TSF pack seems to need some pieces of the Marine Assault Pack and Sebastian Muller's BTR-T pack to work 100% with out errors.  So I've gone ahead and put together the TSF+MAP+BTR-T addons all together in a single RAR file.  Oh boo hoo. Methinks you put way to much stock in these things. These games are not propaganda they are just trying to make a buck they aren't part of some government subsidized ministry of propaganda. I'll just play Sigmund Freud here and surmise that deep down you are just jealous and frustrated that all the communist and Jihad games do poorly and no one wants to play them.  Special Force = shit, propaganda, terrible production.  COD4 = shit, independent dime store comic story, great production.  Why don't you just take a chill pill and just mellow out. Everything in the wold is propaganda to you with the exception of propaganda that supports your world view.

Why not when you release future tanks just release them as one pack? RHS Tank pack instead of RHS T64 pack RHS T80 pack etc etc....

I was kind of hoping this is what Germany 1985 would be like. Basically like FDF but larger a one stop massive addon,mission and campaign expansion with updates and addons added all the time. (for example FDF1.2 to 1.3 to 1.4 the FDF desert pack, Suursaari, winter maldevic) FDF and WGL got used online because mission makers could count on every one having the right build and addons. single released addons are only good for screenshots, they are basically worthless and might as well not be released. A car that has one mission for it is not worth the time to download. BW mod, French Point, BOH and CSLAII were good projects, but imagine if they all were balanced to one another and released as single packs each (example the French army pack the German Army pack etc) . I think the best thing was if there was a core pack, say World War IIIm(just an example name) and then the rest of the packs would be downloaded seperately as they ar efinished or updated, so the german pack, french pack and hopefully a UK pack some time in our lifetime. This would be similar to FDF 1.3 and the desert and WW2 packs. I use FDF as an example but even they could have done much better. Winter Nogojev, Suursaari and Winter Maldevic and the Ke getys addons should have been added in to 1.4. In the end it's better to have fewer complete packs to ask people to download. Less people are likely to play on a server or download a campaign when the addons list looks like this... 1. Get the MCR mod 2. Get the MCR patch 1 3. Get the MCR patch 1.1 4. Get the MCR patch 2.0 5. Get the BMP2 addon 6. Get the BMP3 addon 7. Get the BMP3 1.1 patch 8. Get the BMP crews I mean come on just take down your mod and upload the newest version with all the patches and BMPs and their crews included. I'm rambeling but I hope some one gets the point. In the end it's a pointless dream to hope for any way.

The engine stopped and the chopper flipped and fell on it's side then rolled over on it's top. I have no idea why it didn't explode but hey we lived so good times. This is from an intro, I have no idea what mission it is or when we played it. Zwobot (background) and Llauma (forground) taking aim at targets on a spetznatz mission. Red light during a night insertion. (Red light is less visible from a distance and doesn't screw up your night vision as bad) Today's game. Thanks for sharing, that was very interesting and it is very nice to see Allies working together. I wish there were more videos like this out there and being shown to the people, instead of always the 100% negative pieces that just hurt the war effort. Same here now it seems. I just cannot get this thing to act fun. Night is insane, the AI doesn't have night vision goggles but they can see me like I'm glowing in the dark and the size of a barn. They never miss a shot at night over huge distances. I cannot see them with night vision and they can see me with out it and it's so dark you can't even see your own hands in front of your face. I can't deal with the migraines from the sun at all. I'm still messing with settings and trying to get it right but Sheesh. If real life was like ARMA I'd likely elect to put my eyes out.

I just got ARMA and I am going insane. I'm on a night mission where you have to blow some tanks up. The problem is the enemy AI can see me from miles away even though they do not have night vision goggles, they end up shooting me one shot one kill from incredible distances and they should be stark blind it's so dark. So I was wondering, is there a config.bin type replacement that adds some dispersion to the over accurate AI's gun fire? Also is there a fix that makes the AI not see as well at night if they don't have NV goggles? I don't understand to be honest, never had problems like this in OFP, the AI couldn't see as well at night and never was this accurate. Also no one say "use the search function" I already did and it just made my migraine worse, I didn't find anything related to what I searched for. The only other thing I can think of is perhaps my game isn't patched to the newest version? I downloaded a 1.08 patch but I'm not sure if it's the newest patch or not, it still seems pretty buggy. Is there a higher patch out already than 1.08 that prehaps fixes these problems?

Thanks Q I'll try that out as well but first a few questions. skillx= I figure I know what this does. It just handles their skill same as the difficulty options custom sliders. So it is possible then to lower their skill even lower than 0? How does the AI act with the settings that low? prescisionx= <-- does that effect their accuracy with rifles?
