One of my oldest memories of Flashpoint is that night patrol mission in the CWC campaign where you guard the Vulcan from the two spetznatz. First time I played the mission I wandered around lit the campfire watched a boat at sea through my binoculars. After a few minutes I thought I saw a shadow crawling in the bushes about 40 meters away. I kind of squinted and held the right mouse button for zoom to see what it was, and then KA-BOOM! Big explosion, my first ever experince with the satchel charge. I thought it was awsome. As the years went on though I came to believe it was a scripted event, that the spetznatz must have a waypoint then a trigger that makes them set the charge for that mission. Now you guys have me wondering...

Llauma, is the game still set for Wendsday? I know you mentioned briefly Sunday that you might not be around the next two weeks.
-
Normally I would agree, but not this time. This is based on a real island between Finland and Russia. What possible use do you have for this island out side of FDF mod?

I mentioned that I sent the rar containing the Ghost Recon faces to a certain individual who's now converting them for use with Llauma's head model. Well that certain individual is Extraction. Extraction and I decided that I should post the download link to the .rar in this thread for all to use. Basically we figure the more people that work on converting the Ghost Recon faces the faster the job will be. Â The .rar contains 349 faces all saved as 256X128 TGA files. Within the .rar I've sorted the faces into folders labeled... 1.Allied Asian (21 Faces) 2.Allied Black (45 Faces) 3.Allied Hispanic (24 Faces) 4.Allied White (60 Faces) 5.Civilians (7 Faces) 6.Cubans (37 Faces) 7.Ethiopian (27 Faces) 8.Georgian (22 Faces) 9.Hostage (7 Faces) 10.Marines (4 Faces) 11.Russian (39 Faces) 12.Specialist (22 Faces) 13.US Pilots (3 Faces) 14.US Sniper (31 Faces) Total (349 Faces) Â Personally I would suggest that every one who downloads it should co ordinate with one another to decide who will convert which folders. For example person A: agrees to convert the Cuban and Ethiopian faces while person B: agrees to convert Georgians and Russians. This will greatly speed up the process. Â Well with out further ado, here's the download link. http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=25294 Â Also if you download it please don't simply convert them for personal use only. The end goal should be working together to create a single comprehensive Ghost Recon Faces PBO to supplement Llauma's head model. *Edit* added face count next to folder list above. I can add peoples names next to appropriate folders as they volunteer to do conversion work.

Well, I'm not sure if it's worth the time to remove the helmet straps from the allied faces. Further investigation shows that each allied face is repeated 3 times. For exampe here is Allied asian face 1 from Ghost Recon. Then here is Allied asian face 1 from desert seige. And finally Asian face 1 from Island Storm. As you can see they are the same guy just different face paint. So if you were to clean off the helmet straps and include those two faces also, you would essentially have three of the same guy with just different face paint. With the random face script you might end up with twins or even triplets in your squad. Any way sorry to ramble, just saying that it's probably best to just leave the chinstrap faces out.

I've converted all the faces from Ghost Recon, Desert Siege and Island thunder (350 faces total) to TGA placed them in a Rar file and sent them along to a certain individual who's going to convert them all for use with Llauma's head. Of the 350 faces about 100 of them have chinstraps painted on like this... Â Â I'll see if I can edit out the chin straps in photoshop. Keep in mind I'm a absolute amateur when it comes to texturing though.

Yeah I remember Silk Worm, though I played it in the arcade. As for the last ninja, I actually had the first one but on my NES. It was an interesting game, though I'm quite sure it was way better on the Amiga or PC than the console port.

The brown needs to be contrasted more now to. The brown doesn't really show up well in the new VSR skin, it all looks kind of green and yellow. -
Good times. I didn't have an Amigia I had a Tandy1000 and eventually a 486, yet I had many of the games mentioned. Â On our Tandy1000 I had Defender of the Crown, Battlehawks 1942 (ran really, really bad), Leisure Suite Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, 688 attack sub, Wolfpack and the original Falcon. Â Also had three games by a company called Accolade. They were Mosquito, The original Test Drive and a Grand prix game. All three of which where only in four colors; magenta, cyan, white, and black. Falcon was that way also.Defender of the crown was only in green, red, yellow, and orange. I think it was called EGA or CGA graphics, long before VGA. I also had two D&D games, Pool of Radiance and Curse of the Azure Bonds. Â Eventually I had a 486, on that I had Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe (third and last WWII flight sim by Lucasfilm), F15 Strike Eagle III (by Microprose, boy I miss them), Red Baron, Aces of the Pacific, Aces over Europe, Kings Quest V (my first CD rom game! ) Syndicate, (I didn't have the instructions and I could never figure the game out) plus a few more. Â I so miss the atmosphere of the old games. Games any more have no soul they are so empty. I truly miss instruction manuals.

Here's a Ghost Recon face. If this will work I can see about gathering them all into a single zip file for you. There are several hundred faces mixed between NATO,Russian, Georgian, Ethiopian and Cuban. *Edit* Sanctuary, is that Domingo Chavez?
-
If you want I can send you all the Ghost Recon faces (including Island Thunder and Desert Siege), would they work? I can post an example later, at the moment I can't seem to connect to imageshack.

Are we going to need Suursaari island for Sunday and beyond?I actually just downloaded it, just curious though.  Once again I have to thank you guys for letting me play. I think I'm completely addicted to online Co op now. Last night I played some FDF WW2 with guba,Silesian, and a thrid person whos name I can't remember It was so damn fun, the team work and strategy. The things you can do in this game are so immersive. Skiing cross country in the dead of night to sabotage an airfield, there is simply no other game in existance online that can can simulate that.  Also guys I have to thank you for understanding my terrible ping. Some how I manage to score kills and keep up with every one, though every server I've tried usually kicks me the moment I join once they see my ping. CIA and the server I played on last night with Silesian and guba are the only two that have given me a chance.  Sorry I'm basically rambling now. Just trying say thanks  guys, great games and great teamwork. I love it.

I just downloaded the map, looks very good. I was a bit curious about the running through building bug I've heard mentioned, alas I only found one building that I could do that with... That seems to be the only building I could run through. I wasn't able to run through fences or any other buildings. Only other bug I got is when I exit a mission or the editor after using the island I get a pop up error that says "Missing addon kegsw44m". That's all bug wise. I really like the you based the island off of real terrain. I also have been tired of maps that are clutered with ruins and villages that serve no obvious purpose. Keep up the good work

Even with emotes no one can tell when I'm being sarcastic. I swear no one understands me.

I totally agree with the people who mention that the new shots don't include anything note worthy like proof of multiple gunner posistions and such. How ever I have to contest with people who claim that the shots only look marginally better than OFP.  I can hardly see the difference   Don't judge OFP's graphics by the screenshot thread. The screenshots there are as real as a California bleach blonde.  Any way graphics aren't important to me. I am more interested in new features and improvements.

Thanks for the games guys, I really enjoyed it. I didn't think I would be able to do anything with a ping over a 1000 but I think I did alright all things considered. The second mission was the best for me as I killed about 5 or 6 guys. Oh yeah... and I'm still proud I took out the tank using that big ass tank rifle.

The highlight of the night for me... Axe vs Tank

Here's some images from my first CIA co op night. Llauma Digs in with a AT rifle
-
Excellent I'll see you guys in a bit then.
-
How long do you guys play? It'll be two hours from now when I can join.
-
Looks terrific to me. I can tell already it wont run on my computer though
-
Ok I have team speak, FDF1.3, FDF desert addon and teamspeak. I just got off the phone and it looks like I'll have FDF 1.4 and winter maldevic delivered in about 2 hours. I also have the UZI fix sorted out, is there anything else left that I need? Two questions though... 1. I have Team Speak working and I was able to connect to the CIA server. I don't have a mic, will that be a problem? 2. Is it alright if I have Sanctuary's Nextgen animations and pistol animations installed?
-
I have almost everything needed so far to join tonight save for Team Speak and FDF 1.4. When I click on the teamspeak download link in the first post of this thread it seems to be a dead link. As for FDF 1.4, A friend of mine is downloading it for me on a univeristy computer, I may or may not have it by tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hey I'm American and I don't mind what you said at all. personally I like playing as the US in a game but I always wish they would include other NATO nations as an option. Instead of having a story line type campaign with acting and cut scenes I would rather have several realistic campaigns featuring different nations. What would be nice is if they would release expansion packs covering an army and including a campaign. Think FDF,BW,CSLA, LLW, and French point but all on one CD each with a campaign for a reasonable price. I'd pay for it, that is unless it was $200 or something.

I'm on a satellite connection. I did a little more research last night and it seems a little gloom. Basically on a satellite no matter how fast your connection you will always have at least a half second delay as that's how long it takes for the signal to travel to space and bounce back from the satellite. I always knew satellites were no good for gaming, I just got kind of optimistic after I tried that test and saw I had what seemed to be a good download and upload speed. I'll give it a shot though, if nothing else I can play a medic or be a pack mule for ammo. I need to download FDF 1.4 and the teamspeak program as I only have FDF 1.3 and the desert addon. So I wont be able to test it until tommorow I don't think.
