Animals could be an optional thing to put in, so that they would only appear in the mission's area (if you wanted animals, that is). I'd like to see the ears of a deer prick up before it disappears at the speed of light after it sees half the American Army barreling down the highway

This has been suggested before, and I think it's pretty good. How about the ability to turn off waypoints/units/etc. On some maps, things can get very cluttered, especially on large-scale battles, so an option to turn off individual types of... things would be good, IMO

Better effects for the almighty ofp? :d
Skul replied to BAD ASS JACK's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I'm fed up with constantly hearing 'Go do this' and 'Go do that', or 'Go play "xxxxxx"'. They're not going to do it, are they? -
I don't really give much thought about the ranks. All I know is, this mukka with the highest rank is the one who shouts shit out.

Tanks have veery advanced sensors. I don't know that much about tanks, but I am pretty sure they have IR vision, NV, tracking systems and probably a bunch of other stuff. Basically, tanks are the most advanced lump of metal used by ground forces. And if this is not removed, you won't buy the game? Doesn't bother us, really.....

Reccomended system requirements: A good one

...I'm scared, mommy... It's okay, son... just walk away from the crazy person...

...that's what I said...

Hmm... I think we've broken this page...! Erk! But seriously, though. Alamo was my most favourite RH mission (probably the only one I actually enjoyed).

Does anyone know the script used in this mission? It was really cool. If you can't give me the exact script, at least tell me a variant of some sort (if at all possible). TIA
-
Er...thanks...I think... I'm sure to find what I'm looking for once I have time to read it more thoroughly...

There is a way to hide and reveal markers using triggers. I'm not a home right now, so I can't tell you how to do it just yet. Search around. And you probably know this already, but for those who don't: You can place markers on the map (during play) by double-clicking on the map and typing in a short message when the icon appears. Use the arrow keys to change the icon (default icon is 'Objective' ). You can use it to remind yourself where you parked your jeep or whatever...

A lot of radio voices sound almost nothing like the characters' ACTUAL voices... The only character who's voice sounds right is the mad Dmitri. James' voice sounded a little too high-pitched to me. And Victor from Resistance... why does he have the voice of a hyped-up soldier? He sounds like he's on adrenaline permanently at times: Victor: "All, ENGAGE AT WILL!!!" "Fooorm.. LINE!!!" Calm down, mate!

Yeah! I was watching it, but all it the screen showed was different camera angles of Guba's house with the bad guy himself yapping away (but nowhere in sight). What the hell is that about?!
-
The ability to turn things 'off' so that the screen doesn't get so cluttered. And how about an Overview editor that will actually add pictures? I can never get the pictures to show up. Hell, once I even copied and pasted an overview from someone else's mission, but the picture wasn't there!!!

While I am not too concerned with the OFP animations, I agree that they could be better. It looks a little strange when soldiers stop a jeep then suddenly appear next to it ( or maybe soldiers in the Cold War had secret magical powers? ) Same with getting in. They almost climb on top of small vehicles (jeeps, bikes, etc). And the gun clips should be removable. I have let the tiny graphic/animation bugs go, but I still say the OFP2 engine should be improved. Apart from some minor glitches, the game's as about as realistic as it's gonna get, especially with Resistance and all.

That's basically already happened in Resistance, don't you think?

And 8 billion percent realism, eh? Why don't they make it so you have to go and learn how to fly a jet fighter in the real world so you can fly it in the game? Then have stuff like having a broken limb and having to wait out practically the whole game for it to heal. And instead of skipping days, let's have it a continuous game with no saves, or pauses, since you can't pause or save in the real world. Not to forget the one time only playability with no chance of playing it ever again if you die and you can't reinstall the game...

Anyone know where I can find the KEG_makarov for the KEG_snow addon? I downloaded Winter Nogojev, but the 'makarov' is missing. Anyone got any ideas?

Okay, first of all, only those of you who have completed Red Hammer read this, unless you want to know the rest of the game! ***** ***** ***** ***** Okay, here's what my post is about: I've finally completed Red Hammer ( yipee ), BUT there is one problem! In the final mission, I managed to reach the officers, a cutscene started with Dmitri telling them to throw down their weapons, then it crashed to the desktop!!! This happened twice! I played the mission another three times, and it still happened, so, eventually, I went into the boat and buggered off. I really wanted to see the ending with the officers (the best ending, if I understand from other posts), but the computer wasn't having it. Another thing, why is Red Hammer so buggy? Yes, Codemasters made it, but surely BIS would've been looking over their shoulder, helping them out? Anyway, I'm off to play Resistance (at last! )
