Well a "real" Thai or "Siah" (Sir what they like to call themself if they have some money) usually doesn't go to brothels. He usually has a girlfriend (or more) and they are called "Mia Noi" (small wife). This is quite common in Thailand. Of course the people behind the prostitution who bring the girls from places like Cambodia, Burma or the East of Thailand to Pataya, Bangkok and all the other nasty places didn't like Taksins approach on fighting prostitution. Not htta it matters much. If a Cambodain girl is caught and send back to Cambodia (where she most likely was sold by here family to the Chinese running most of this trade), she will be back pretty soon. I could go on and on about this but I guess you guys got the point. Taksin wasn't that bad if you look at it. Sure you can quote all the western media reports on fraud, corruption, business deals etc etc. but hey, the Prince shoots people cause he doesn't like them or they don't sell their land to them and he's also big in the whole trafficking business. And any other Prime Minister, General, Police Captian etc etc. is corrupt down to the last man. There is no country I have ever been to where you can pretty much buy your way out of any situation with a few thousand $ if you do it "thai style". Meaning, you don't say "hey, sorry, how much you want?" You need to be all polite, tell the guy how much you respect him, his man blabla, and how much it would be to sponsor the police blabla to get this sorted. My driving license for thailand only cost me 500 bht (12€) for example. Was signed by a guy working in the registration office who was a mate of a guy I knew who happned to be the buddy of the major of a village where my missus came from. So whoever will get elected next will just be corrupt again. This is what it's all about in the "Land of Smile"...$ and a few $ and some $.

I used to live in Thailand for nearly 4 years. And Taksin being elected wasn't very welcome. You need to see that for a long time a lot of business was done by the Military, Police Forces etc etc. This goes form the Golden Triangle Trades to Money Laundering the Black Market and a lot of other businesses. Taksin changed a lot by changing police forces around. Eq. Northern Border Police was changed with Tourist Police in Bangkok, Southern Police was changed with Imigration Officers etc etc. Then they been changed (moved around) in turns. So when some of the Drug Traffickers would have new connections, they soon be moved again. However, one is not to forget Taksins own desires. It was only a matter of time before this would have happend. So long as they don't putsch the King all is good in Siam. --------------- There was anohter coup years ago in the heart of Bangkok. The Prime Minister back then was a Ex-Military 3 Star General. He had the troops open fire on demonstrating Students back then in Banglampoo at the Victory Monument. This is usually the route the King would take form the Palace in Banglampoo to his Residence. However, that day the Convoy was redirected another route and the king only learned of the massacker days later. The laws had been changed after that that actually a Ex High Ranking Military person can't become Prime Minister. Cause he got to much influcene and connections in the Army....

I just spoke to Alex from Morphicon on the phone. You better get your facts straight mate!! Morphicon still doesn't know if the german version will support ANY other languages. They also do NOT know how shipping outside germany will be handled. All a question IF BIS has other publishers. And believe me BIS doesn't want to put other publishers off because Morphicon starts sending the game around the world. Also nobody seems to know about a appointment with you on friday. I guess you'll hear form them and from Placebo very soon...

If I was you I would have waited till you got a final word from Morphicon about the Affiliate thing before posting it here mate. We have been in touch with them for a while now and until things are not clear (Language, Retail, Affiliate etc etc) I wouldn't go off posting about it...

Actually it's the most spoken "native language"... english is the most spoken in any manner Actually the most spoken native language is spanish or catalan in most "diffrent" countries. English is the most spoken business language. And Chinese is spoken so much due to the amount of Chinese people I hope we see a UK/US publisher soon. I don't want this in german and from what I have heard about the language files I need a english version...

It was stated at the GC that BIS was still working on implementing some of the animations. So I wouldn't worry to much about this yet. I like the way he jumps to a prone positon form running throwing his legs into the air. Very nice... Also the Tank battle was very impressive. 900m view distance or not. It was cool to see all them Tanks seeing bashing each other. I tried this just now in VBS with about 30 on each site...I lagged so bad I "hard closed" my VBS.

1. You're not allowed to use OFP content in VBS1 without the original makers permission. Sure you can use them for personal entertainment but you're not supposed to share them around the VBS community. 2. A lot of OFP addons will have a issue with VBS1. Specially RES addons. The do not "just work" in VBS1 but require editing. 3. As said before, Placebo will crack for discussing this here. The official VBS1 forum is located @ http://www.vbsresources.com/forum The community site is located @ http://www.virtualbattlespace.info Both Sites require registration and account approval. (Btw, wasn't able to find oyu in the VBS member list)

Morphicon has now confirmed the release date for Germany on their website. 30.11.2006 it says on the Site. They also advertise the preorder through Amazon.de for Armed Assault. Aparently it will be then shipped to you on the 30th. Question that remains is...will they dub the voice files? If not I think this might be a good chance to get your hands on ArmA on date.

You can now pre-order Armed Assault on the German Amazon Website. It isn't available on the UK site yet. Release 30th. November 2006

If I understand you ight you want to hide in a opfor vehicle so you don't get engaged by the enemy? Set the vehicle so that you're set to "captive true" if you're inside the vehicle. Like this opfor wont engage you...

Is there any other version around? yeah several by now. ArmedAssault.eu synced the audio and video file again and converted it to .wmv I re-encoded it again for our site and brought it down to 12MB but it's in the members section of our site. So I guess ArmedAssault.eu has the best version available for public viewing.

It doesn't really matter in what language you buy ArmA or atm OFP/VBS imho. All you do is replace your voice.pbo and your stringtable and you got whatever language you want... And I bet it will be pretty much the same in ArmA. As for the rating in germany, never mind that. ArmA ain't not as bad as that they would soft it down to a useless level. It's games that show pure core that are put on the shelf with the +18 label on them.
