  2. PboX v1.0 has been released! PboX is utility to unpack and pack pbo files. You can view inside the pbo without opening it, you can view p3d files, config.cpp files and textures for example. Both ODOL and MLOD p3d's are displayed in 3d preview view. PboX runs with standard "WrpTool" DLL's, which can be found either on WrpTool or ODOL Explorer releases. Browse pbo's, view models inside... PboX1.jpg Remember to read the readme for additional instructions. If you have any problems, contact us on WrpTool forum where we will try to help anyone with questions. PboX v1.0 has been released!

Forgot to mention in the readme that the 3d preview works just like the one in ODOL Explorer does. You can operate the view with these commands: Right Mouse Button (RMB) moves up, down, left and right the model in 3d preview view. Left Mouse Button (LMB) rotates the model in 3d preview view. Shift-LMB rotates the model but locks the umm...umm what axis is that, I dont know how to explain. CTRL-LMB mouse forward/backward will zoom and unzoom the model in 3d preview view. Yes the mission.sqm files are binarized or something. Ancient unpbo or other utilities first unpack the pbo, then they convert the binarized .sqm into a pure text file again. Dschulle and I decided that this is "not the right way to do it" but it is the "easy way to do it" for end user. Might sound weird but anyways. We cant promise anything but having PboX handle the extra job might become available in future version(s). So why can you load up the PboX mission dirs fine on OFP but the mission.sqm is still garbled up looking at it with notepad?? Well as its binarized... OFP reads nicely the binarized files. Just grab some util like the CoC Binview to convert it back to pure text file. I do not have the "Marfy's MTLB Pack" here so I cannot test why it would not work after PboX unpack & pack again.

    WGL Mod 4.12 Update

I truly appreciate the decision to make NORMAL archive/zip release about this. Having to use exe installer on OFP addons is just horrible. Thanks.

    ODOL Explorer v2.0

The v2.44 you see on the net now is not a WrpTool Development Team release. It is not supported by us in any way shape or form, we do not take any responsibility of its operation. ODOL Explorer v2.44 is illegal, alpha, untested and leaked version. We will not acknowledge, or recommend anyone using it. You have now been warned. We will release v2.5 sometime in the future, thats all we can say. WrpTool Development Team Dschulle & Snake Man ---

    PMC_Euro 25km Terrain + Campaign

There is now one new mission in the campaign and maybe one or two more in planned. I did small invasion beach clear mission for Rangers and added the new CoC Cruise Missiles to the SEAL missions. Also other missions will get heavy CoC UA usage after I "reorder" the invasion forces. The island in the latest alpha feels quite empty, however its not a lagfest like usual islands with lot of vegetation. What would be the balance here, more densely populated terrain or lagless gameplay with somewhat empty areas? I personally feel and it was our goal that this island WILL have some large empty areas, for example to some huge tank battles or such. But surely we must make the nearby areas of cities etc more interesting. Also if anyone noticed I left out the res/nogova bushes because I've heard things about them that AI will see through them etc. To leave them out, good or bad idea? The Agent Smith released the great industrial pack v3.0 which I've been looking for possible use. I suddenly wanted to build some oil refinery and pipeline objectives in the island, but then again... is this poor agricultural small town island or more high tech one with new goodies like oil wells and such? I'm very slowly working on a update, no dates or list of fixes yet.

PMC Ranger Path - OFP Campaign

PMC Ranger Path Operation Flashpoint (OPF) Campaign PMC Ranger Path campaign is US Army Ranger specific using Laser's Delta/Ranger, bas Blackhawk, Littlebird and Chinook addons. Missions are somewhat special in nature and you dont find same kind of basic infantry grunt action here as in PMC Fury. The lame storyline is much like in the other campaign where US forces fight off Russians from the four (official BIS) islands. Some facts of PMC Ranger Path campaign: - Radio messages without voice files, you'll see radio text but not hear a voice. - Two cutscenes on every mission, these aren't that hot (sorry, don't expect BIS quality here). - Thorough briefings, small section + detailed section. - Over 20 missions and two standalone cutscenes. - Islands used: Everon, Malden, Kolgujev and Nogova. - Some missions might require lot CPU power (more or less 1ghz). - Requires some addons; C-130, CoC UA/Mines, LSR Delta/Ranger, Bn880 Tracers, JAM3 etc. - Optimized for 1500 meter viewdistance. - Missions are designed for COOP multiplayer compatibility (MP versions will be released later). Visit PMC OFP Campaigns page and PMC Ranger Path Official Forum Area for details.

Visitor also saves for 4WVR format. Do you know what the catch is? ... You can use binarize to make 4WVR -> OPRW format. Its interesting that you know WrpTool's saving format but you dont know the fact that binarize does the conversion from 4WVR to OPRW, which after all is written in the WrpTool manual. There is also bunch of other interesting wrp related info on the manual for people to read. Its PMC.

Youre welcome, but please assign the thank you also if not specificly to Dschulle also. He coded the thing, I'm just a slavedriver, readme/manual writer and tireless tester & whiner. But we're very happy that our small util has helped you. Oh btw next WrpTool version should have the AGS stuff not working bug fixed, as it is in this ODOL Explorer v2.0 already.

Buildings showing up in wrp editor

All the normal information is listed in the WrpTool PDF manual, its all there. Only thing not mentioned in the manual (I believe) is that Agent Smith's industrial pack buildings wont show up in real p3d shapes. However you still can fully place them. If you have any specific questions, ask away I'll try to help as best as I can.

    Aec island-3 in 1

Hi guys Some of you who says "this is cool, why havent this been done earlier", heh well I think it was the first thing we did since the WrpTool code was build, it was the generic advertizement image of ours. Now like guys already said, Nogova is offlimits so the above was just us funnying around. Then lot of time later I believe Jahve requested a Malden + Everon in one island from me, I did it for him but it never came to anything, dunno why. And now Mad Fred let me know that guys are again wanting a big "island" where you have all the islands combined, so I took the 20mins of WrpTool time and created the islands. Malden is 100% identical to the original. Everon is 100% identical to the original. Kolgujev is 100% same size and objects, but the textures are changed to more generic ones to bring down the texture count. Like said before, OFP only supports total of 512 textures and Kolgujev alone has over 300, so it had to be edited a bit. The above image is Malden + Everon together, it was from the initial WrpTool advertisement post. And then there is the image of the "AEC: Abel - Eden - Cain" islands which looks like this Click also the huge image right  here I guess the main reason this wasnt done earlier by me was that I consider this a "cheating" island. its not a island editing in the true sense as you just "paste" together other peoples work. But since lot of guys seem to have interest for this and by looking the replies in this topic, I guess this island was indeed in demand. I'm glad you guys like it

  25. Battle Royale Beta Island Release Boy if you want to take a look of island release that is good example of how NOT to do it, this is it. To start this off with the happy news that the island release comes in filename BR_BETA_ISL.exe at filesize of 12.4mb. Hmm okay, no readme at all included in this release exe so maybe its on the inside. So with scare I clicked the EXE and installshield installer popped up, uh oh. here is the text thats displayed when the installer starts: So I decided to try to point the installation to some temporary directory, it worked (luckily). Finally as the install was completed, what was there... a FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE, html shortcut to their web page and the Res/ addons dir. Yes you heard me right a flashpointresistance.exe file, heh imagine installing this to your real OFP dir, whoa overwriting your OFP exe file. The readme inside the installer did not say anything about overwriting your OFP files, not to mention the executable program itself. OK the island itself is small deathmatch type place, I have no issues with that. The island pbo size is 126kb. Well hey you say, thats not so bad only bit over hundred kilobytes so whats the big deal, huh? The big deal comes with the additional addons these people have decided to add there. This includes Agent Smith port pbo (no big deal, lot of people choose to use it). Some zwa cottage pbo. editorupdate102 pbo, huh? editorupdate, why? Then the big ones; iloilo_obj.pbo which is the Ebud made jungle objects, it still includes the 512x512 resolution TGA file (1mb in size) inside the PBO file, this pbo is 5.3mb in size. It also has sebnam_obj.pbo included which has the main objects and textures from SEB NAM Pack 2. The sebnam_obj filesize is 5.5mb. The islands wrp file itself is raw 4WVR format (written by Visitor or WrpTool), which dont have nothing wrong in the developer sense, but at least if these people have used WrpTool and read the manual, it clearly instructed users should not give 4WVR format islands to beta testers/public. And now the most unbelievable thing, why in the world has these guys included the iloilo_obj.pbo into the island? In the pbo there is duplicated copies of SEB textures which the island uses (why not the originals?), the only objects it uses from iloilo_obj.pbo is: iloilo_obj\iloelekrovi2.p3d iloilo_obj\ilostr_fikovnik_ker.p3d Uh, so this qualifies for 5.3mb download, there is like no way SEB NAM Pack objects would have been good enough? And by including sebnam_obj.pbo it means that those users who have already SEB NAM Pack 2 installed, this will overwrite the original pbo and of course users need to download 5.5mb unessary files, not to mention the iloilo objects with the big TGA file inside etc. Btw if these guys used WrpTool, the manual also instructs clearly not to make this mistake with the addon pbos, however if they are Visitor users and never tried out WrpTool, thend ignore this comment. This island release has so many things wrong it makes me believe its a joke, people make mistakes and thats natural but c'mon you cannot expect me to believe that OFP community accepts this kind of release quality from anyone. Do you want to download 12.4mb instead of about 100kb? Do you want to overwrite your NAM Pack pbo? Do you want to overwrite your OFP executable? You have been warned. More details from PMC Editing Wiki: OFP HOWTO Release page.
