  1. Ok I just upgraded both servers to 1.91. First impression: Frequent server crashes! At least 5 times in the last 60 minutes. The logfile contains no useful information. Any idea on a possible reason? Â

    Kyllikki a&d mission pack 1

ohhhhh sweet! That is exactly what we need! Getting a bit tired of addon coops... Thanks guys!
  3. I hope this is the right topic for this question: OFP/Addons or OFP/Res/Addons? I've been fiddling around with user made addons for a long time now and tried every possibility concerning the correct folder for unofficial addons. I tried the -mod command, I put them where the addon makers wanted me to put them, I tried the opposite, everything. After experiencing random problems like CtDs or missing, but obviously existing addons it turned out that I get the most stable setup buy putting ALL non-official addons in the OFP/Addons folder regardless of whether the addon makers wanted them to be installed in OFP/Res/Addons or not. We've been compiling a huge addon pack for our addon server and I want to give the correct instructions for all those who decide to download our addon pack. The abovementioned solution works perfectly for me, I am using GOTY edition patched to 1.91 and I created the OFP/addons folder manually. Could someone REALLY knowing what he's or she's talking about give me a hint whether this is an acceptable solution for all existing OFP versions (Original+Resistance fully patched or GOTY fully patched)? Thanks in advance Shrike

File copy error (crc does not match)

After breaking my Original CWC CD (which worked without any problems during installation) I had to buy the GOTY edition. The first attempt to install it failed with a CRC error for 0.pbo and/or M2A2.pbo. I solved the problem by lowering my FSB from 133(266) MHz to 100 in the PC Bios. After the successful installation I changed it back. Works like a charm. Thanks Avon, this solution is from your FAQ.

    Operation flashpoint 2

There are actually 2 positions of the dial showing something...one shows the old test pattern, the other (50 is the position I think) shows a static screen with occasional white flashes, like explosions in the dark. BIS sure does like puzzles...

  8. For some odd reason one of our servers stopped processing custom faces (custom faces appear white to everybody). It seems the server does not send the faces to the clients anymore. I don't get it because it was working great until now and I haven't made any changes. Our addon server, which is a mirror of the normal server, still works fine. I tried changing the user rights for the tmp folders but that didn't help... Any idea?
  9. Thank for you reply Lobanak. But: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Have you restricted the maxcustomfilesize?<span id='postcolor'> Yes but this is not the point. Players with too big a custom face are kicked before even they even get into the game. The error applies to everybody IN game using custom faces. (don't think that's a problem) Do you have enough bandwidth? Can it be that your provider has changed some things in his network?<span id='postcolor'> No modified FW, 100 Mbit connection. But this can't be the prob anyway, the addon server is running on the same machine and doing fine with custom faces. The funny thing is id DID work until a few days ago, now it doesn't. I am desperate...

    Operation flashpoint 2

I have no doubt that it will be a great game, whatever it will be! The only wish I really really do have, for me and for a longlasting and happy MP community, is a greatly improved netcode.

    Feeling uneasy about playing war?

It's just a game. But I remember one situation while playing the 1985 campaign where I had the the forehead of a poor Soviet soldier in my M21 sight. The poor sod was standing around a campfire with his equally doomed fellows, maybe chatting about their children or girls, enjoying a cigarette - and I actually felt bad about shooting him...talk about immersion! I even tried to play the campaign as "clean", eg  with as few enemy casualties as possible. It doesn't work very well to say the least...

    Linux dedicated server 1.91 final

It seems to me that the crashes are still related to XML parsing. We were up for several hours now but one player made it go tits up. And he tried again. And again....sigh...

    The Dogs of War

What a greedy, violent, egoistic bunch of assholes mankind is... I am grateful for the pictures on TV...for they remind me what it's worth living and standing up for...on the other side they make me doubt humanity will ever evolve...

Could someone update me on whether the coalition is using depleted uranium shells again? Now that would make the free Iraqis happy.... Or is this considered a political post? If so, my apologies...
