BIS are aware of that a pedal-turn induce yaw (sideways banking). It appears to be a complex problem. It might be fixed, it might not be. So preparing for the worst, I suggest you start practicing compensating with opposite cyclic movement while pedal-turning to avoid unintentional sideslipping. Pedal left - compensate with cyclic right.

I do but that wouldnt help any in this case. I prefer having the stick and throttle next to the keyboard at both ends. So I move the mouse away and put the stick on the mousepad  What I really need is to make some mounts on the chair and mount the stick and throttle to it. But that also takes effort. (see a pattern here? ) Anyway, we cant expect hardcore flightmodel from a game of this scale so I'm not too hardcore on the control-side either. I think the single most important thing to flying in Arma is a TrackIR. That way I can always see what I crash into before I actually do it  Oh I was referring to rotary wing only. Yeah, flying fixed wing with keyboard and mouse was and still is terrible. But I'm mostly interested in whirlybirds. I dont fly fixed wing more than I have to.

I agree and to be honest I dont care much for joystick controls in this game (and I'm a flight sim fanatic). It just takes too much effort to move the stick (4.5Kg Cougar) up to the desk, fly some, get out, move the stick out of the way and pick up the mouse only to pick up the stick again when I enter a aircraft. Staying with mouse and keyboard only is so much more comfy. Also all the things you can do with a stick is now possible with a mouse too except barrel-rolls and loops, which are pointless maneuvers in this game anyway.

It sounds like many people here have the default keybord bindings for helicopters. The default settings combine pedals and left and right cyclic (the OFP-style). Here my setup with the pedals separated from the cyclic: With these settings, the flight-model seems fine to me. Atleast for this kind of game. Remember, this isnt MS FS-X.

I dont see any deadzone with helos at all while flying with mouse as cyclic. If you mean the delay from input to actual movement then that is reallistic. You always have to think ahead and steer the aircraft before you need the actual output movement. If you are sideslipping left to get close to a spot on the ground you will have to counter that movement before you reach that spot. If done correctly the helo has come to a hover on that spot.

Thanks a bunch, metalchris. Now I cant make up my mind. Both of them look great. I think retro is definitely the way to go. Unless I'm mistaken, CWR is first a foremost for the "old" OFP community. @Metalchris: You're missing a A between the large one and RMED if you compare it to how the original OFP-banner looks like. On the other hand, I think it fits the way you did. But I'm not judging the winner here. (I didnt even get to sign up on the wiki )

Good question. I'm guessing the 8800GTX would be the overal fastest solution, but probably not if the game has good SLI-support. Go with what your wallet tells you.

I like Jahve's idea by using the original logo design. Can you put "cold war rearmed" on a red'ish background like this? And maybe remove the green stripe? I also think Raedor is onto something by using the Arma-logo with a Hind.

I never said that either. I think you have no clue how much work is involved in making a complete set of rapelling animations. See my arguement above FYI I have the 360 version. I wouldnt buy it if I did'nt like it.
-
And just make a complete set of rapelling animations? Â Ladders work fine and the animations are there already.

It appears to be a CPU or GPU overheating issue as far as I can tell. That video artifacts seems like GPU overheating, the reboots seems like CPU issues (or possibly ATI GPU rebooting?).

Thats not an issue with these cards. They are designed to stack up very tight (they have to considering the space-requirements). The fans suck in air from the sides, not from the top (or bottom if you like) center of the fan. My GX2 suck in air from the outside and blow it through the heatzinks and into my computer, keeping it nice and warm on a cold winter day Idle temp in the chassis is only 47c But I dont care right now as long as its silent. Just not looking forward to a hot summer when this box will cooperate with the sun on heating the room.

Its a single card so it shouldnt require more than one PCI-e slot. Are you sure they didnt say it occupy the neighbouring PCI slot due to a large fan/heatzink? Thats how it is with the 7950GX2 but it uses only the one PCI-e slot but blocks the PCI slot next to it.

Ofcourse. If you actually read the rules you would have known that before posting this. If you have a grudge with why Placebo locked your thread, then PM him.

I edited your sig, Borg. Read the rules if you're unsure about anything

They get paid?  You tricked me  If its @c2i.net or @planetrainbowsix.com I dont have those accounts anymore, so trying to contact me on those would'nt help. If you send a PM to me I will receive an email-notification about it

This is a english forum. Though I apreciate the support and enthusiasm to make Norwegian mods, please stick to typing in English only on these boards. (Hvis dere ikke forstĺr engelsk, send meg en melding) Nice looking models by the way. Looking forward to see what you can do once you have the tools.

Is that better? My current PC cost me the same. It is: C2D E6700. XFX GF7950GX2 Kingston 2x1GB RAM 3x250GB Seagate SATA2 drives Adaptec 2420SA RAID controller Asus P5B motherboard with onboard 10/100/1000 ethernet Soundblaster X-FI Fatality Lite-On 16x dvd-rw Lian Li PC6070 case (factory sound-insulated) Mist 500W powersupply Zalman CNPS7700ALCU cpu-cooler and a Papst 120mm case fan WinXP Pro OEM You can remove about $500 for the 3 hard-drives and the RAID-controller if you dont intend to run RAID-5. edit: If one of the main purposes for that computer of yours is to play Arma you can ditch the GF7600GS right now. It simply dont cut it in the long run. Preferably get a 7900 or 7900GTX. The best is if you can run either of the cards in SLI (Heatseeker, you are wrong about SLI with Arma). When a game properly supports SLI you get twice the performance of a single card. The 7950GX2 is 2x 7900. The 7950GX2 does not cost twice that of a single 7900 but it perform twice as fast when SLI is properly supported

Spreading lies like that in a troubleshooting thread will earn you a post restriction and increased warning level next time

Make sure you are using the latest TIR software v4.1.029.beta.04. In the software click Update then check for game updates.

Then you're in the clear. You still have a warranty
