    OFP2 and "armed assault" - what's up?

I noticed the soldiers have improved patrolling animations and are making more intelligent use of cover as well. Also, the models are much more detailed. Great work BIS!

    Marek Interview at Pcgameworld

Hey, if the first half of development took them this long, we can infer a couple things: 1) We are getting a pretty re-worked engine and game environment. 2)This is going to be a great game far and above the original OFP. Just tweaking the current engine and graphics would take a lot less time, so my money is on some dramatic changes.

    CAT's Afghanistan Revisited

I'm still chipping away at this. It's just that RL issues are taking precedent until May. I'll be putting out a 10 building pack early this summer. I'd love to see some skilled people besides me and Agent Smith jump in and lend a hand. I have really refined my techniques for making building with absolute efficiency and also am getting much better at texturing things from scratch. I no longer look for pre-existing textures in most situations, now I can make my own. For example, I created these from scratch: I can teach people how to do this, its really not that hard if you practice.

    CAT's Afghanistan Revisited

I set the second face a hundreth of a millimeter above the primary face and it eliminates the flicker. Â The flicker only seems to occur to me when the two faces are right on top of each other. Even when they're a couple of centimeters apart, they still flicker. Â Try making a really thin sided box object and setting it a thousandth away from the underlying face. It adds polys, but not too many and should get rid of the flicker.

  10. Avon, might I also suggest downloading music from the Passion of the Christ. It is very Middle Eastern and dramatic. Also check out DJ Cheb-i-Sabbah and Badawi, especially the track "Tired Soldiers". Very good stuff I am using for 3WX. Maybe all the Middle East projects should get together for an uber environmental immersion pack. Just a thought.
  11. I've downloaded some calls to prayer and reading of the Quraan from this website. Pakistani Music Hope it helps

    Hunter S. Thompson dead

I don't remember who asked, but Thompson's weapon of choice is the .357 Magnum. He once showed up to give the keynote speech at a Harvard graduation waving one wildly and swigging out of a bottle of Jack Daniels. He was never asked back.

    Hunter S. Thompson dead

"We were halfway to Barstow when the drugs began to take hold . . ." "There is nothing more frightening to a man in the depths of an ether binge than to see his dead grandmother crawling up his leg with a knife in her teeth." God I loved that man. It's a shame he's no longer making us laugh. I've read most everything he's written more than once. He was a good serious author too. Read Hell's Angels sometime. Now I'll have to wade my way through a world filled with angry rotarians alone. Maybe my attorney can help me.

60 years ago - The Battle Of Iowa Jima

The second time the flag was raised was still a deadly event. The Marines were still under fire and many of them did not survive the day after the photo was snapped. The second flag was raised not for a photo op, but because it was bigger and could be seen flying from Mount Suribachi by all the Marines on the island. The first flag was too small to see easily.

    Us presidential election 2004

Well, it's over. It's time for the Bush people to start reaping all of their rewards. And, without enough Democrat votes in either house to successfully filibuster, the Bush voters are going to get everything they deserve. In just a year or two, they will have no one to blame but themselves, and if I hear any of them whining, I may just shoot them personally.

They vote for Bush because as my friends in the Army, Navy and Marines tell me, the only media source they have for information is Fox News, and only specific programs. For Radio, they only get Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. The Pro-Bush propaganda machine is in full effect for our servicemen and women. Despite this, I heard a sizable percentage of the enlisted personnel population is Pro-Kerry.

"My daddy killed me with a butcher knife"

I just love this sentence. Â E E Cummings eat your heart out. Â LOL Â LOL, that does sound like an e e cummings poem. Of course you've probably gone right over his head.

    Us presidential election 2004

You mean like locking you in a room filled with Barbara Streisand clones ? Also, look what poll Bush won : I heard top prize for winning that poll was a hardcover copy of "My Pet Goat". Maybe now Bush can finish reading it with all that spare time down in Crawford. Hell, I'll even chip in and buy him a goat.

    Us presidential election 2004

I'm telling you, Ohio will go Kerry. I'll bet the remaining half of Billybob's postcount on that  Anyway, what's interesting is that the FOX seems to have a completely different opinion of the way the trend is going. They're saying that Bush is pulling ahead and leading. Granted that's FOX, but I think I saw something similar on CNN. One explanation could be that their surveys are nation-wide rather than on state level. If the population isn't homogenous enough, this introduces errors. I'd put my money on the state polls as they are more specific. Another reason could be that Bill Clinton has pledged to help eliminate the deregulation of the media that was enacted under his administration if Kerry gets elected. Can anyone say goodbye big corporate media conglomerates ala Fox and CNN?

    Us presidential election 2004

I can't in any way call the 2nd debate a strikeout for Kerry. It wasn't a home run, but more like a safe single: Kerry opens lead after 2nd debate.

flaming? Ralph, find your happy place and repeat over and over and over, "most people are logical, most people are logical". It is the ideologoues who shout the loudest, but don't mistake their loudness for the truth buddy. As a good cop friend of mine told me, most of these people are "All talk and no cock."

no sec.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/3705948.stm Yes Billybob, I read that article which is why I said "Last thing I heard was that the Chinese were encouraging us to engage in bilateral talks with North Korea until very recently." Check the date on that quote you supplied, it was stated after the Bush-Kerry debate. Â Basically, the Chinese have reversed their position out of fears they will lose their stake in the process under a Kerry administration. You really should read everything you argue against, else you come off sounding like a boob.
