but then again, what about Flying aircrafts? will they suddenly stop from a hit into a skybox if reached? That's the whole point, the skybox of the moon is more logical than a skybox on sides that prevent you from maneuvering in game area. -

So no more ranom flying or random walking around the whole map? Ironically, you said, you disliked bf2 SYSTEM, then had an exact ame idea, now with more visuals. -

well, for instance, it's 100x bigger than our flat geometry (the ground) it's sorta very large and it's visible in another screenshot. -

Right now I have only two wishes. Get rid of that white bloom, it's irritating to look at Secondly, I wish to have gameplay vids even more. I want to see how the first person is (maybe they will launch without showing? I mean we're expecting a huge difference here ) -

I don't like the sound of that . There also must be talk interactions ,like Civs talking to each other (or making love) or something during idle ok, Now I'll hide back to my bunker -

Of course it was scripted. But the question is whether or not the campaign will actually use these animations or not. I'd like to think yes, but Arma didn't use them much, or at all, so I we'll have to wait and see. Well,I would buy 5 copies of Arma 2 if civs would do that by just being placed in an editor, (or some script like 'add civ life'. -

Bah everything in that video looks scripted The only unscripted things are policemen who were just standing. (I highly doubt that woman will live her life or feed 'chickens' when you place her around a house in the editor.) -

well, looking on the side there are 6 sides to reveal + addition information, and The main page says 'updates on weekly basis', which logically means revealing a side per week, which instantly, logically, means it's about 6 sides per 6 weeks + additional updates, so it's safe to say, we're for 10-11 update treaty. -

Hmm...I don't think that was 'weight' in action. Â By looking how other vehicles move, I believe the tank is just passing rocky terrain or is constantly stoppping (arma style) to let the other tank pass), so it kind of moved, like it had weight. Coincidence maybe, I don't know, but hell, that looked good. -

I hope it is heat distortion but I think it is the trees, if you look around it does in other places as well. They are going into detail with the models though, the welding and plate thickness on the tank really struck my eye. look at 1.12 to 1.17 Â Just been playing arma and now the models in the game look really basic compared Oh damn...I got my hopes high, but I can confirm there is no Heat in there, just trees. -
Sadly...I am slowly taking same road. I think it's mainly because there are less good games released on PC platform (Thanks to devs who don't believe in PC anymore, of course your anti-PC chatter will influence negatively) I am leaning towards consoles just because it has more game libraries providen each year.

Ypu, I saw that too, a heat distortion and btw, the night helicopter scene, was that scripted or the AI in the works? I am talking about the guy, who came out of the chopper and started to cover the other guys... -
Well, for instance to the PC vs console debate here, I can say, that the only reason for me to defend PC version of the game is that when somebody asks about ARMA, I can proudly say, that it's called armed Assault and it's PC only game. It kind of feels big, just like when Sony talks about Killzone 2, it's their game, it's only on PS3. It's sort of those things that you can have, but others don't, so it's very special to you,it's your game to you, but with now that ARMA 2 is heading to consoles. You can't anymore say it's your game, it's PC only....so it doesn't feel special anymore. SO that's propably one of those big reasons why so many are against console release, it's just that when that happens, it loses that little feeling called special. It loses it's magic. Same way how Killzone 2 would lose it's magic if headed to x360. Â

No surprise, it is simple. When the artist modeled this plane we had no better references than the prototype. As far as we know Marines today dont use F35B yet, so the airplane in our game is the JSF prototype. And what about Lod popping? Does that happen everyone? -
Bah, I am so late....Well, this post will be dedicated to those who are too lazy to browse Press coverage thread....

Raven's FormPatrol 1.0 Script
Raphier replied to Raphier's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Oddly enought it works now, thank you, BUT the patrol seems to ignore their enemies, they just pass them, like the enemies aren't actually present. -
please some hand to hand combat or knifes
Raphier replied to oscar19681's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
hmm...hollywood much? Knife kill is pretty much NEVER silent. It's more likely to alarm everybody. The victim will choke, scream from pain, release a lot of blood. it's a mess, and it's more effecient to just a hit a bullet in the head. Just like the spetsnaz did during the estrade rescue situation in russia back in the years. It was close-combat, but they never used a knife, just bullet to the head with a silencer. -

Well.... ygh, let's also make knives throwable up to 500 meters. The problem with these games and irl is, they are open-ended. Firefighting happening in 500-1km distance. Knifes and hand-to-hand combat in wargames are for kids -

I think that Flashbang event is a scripted cinematic. I recognize this stuff because of too much details going on same time, , like for example that ending after credits, which is scripted cinematic too.
