Simply put its AAS but including the ACE mod and some of its gameplay features. If you've played with the ACE mod, you know what it brings. Thing is the servers that support it, I've never seen any players in them. -

Very nice! I know it's a WIP but I'll still make a few comments. The variation between some environment seemed just a bit too much, such as the open field at the beginning, and then the forest at the end. Vastly different sounds imo. The sounds when firing in the village was great, simulating the echo from the sound bouncing off the various buildings was a great effect. My only gripe there is that I think, again in imo, that it was a bit too echo-e, almost like you were completely encapsulated by surrounding buildings, while really it was a more spread out and open. AWESOME work -

I notice in a lot of the OA screens the soldiers are wielding the SCAR-L. I would love to use the SCAR-H especially in that long range Takistan terrain. I'm worried that adding an infantry unit or squad they will all default to the SCAR-L. Do you think the editor will have an option to choose between the two? -
Anyone know if it will be going on sale at EBgames in Canada?

the head shake when running in first person view is enough to give me a headache. Maybe someone can apply the headshake from running to weapon firing. have fun with that :| -

Thanks. I searched 'radio chatter': Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. So I opened my ace_clientside_config.hpp file and found this line assuming it's the one I want #define ACE_NOVOICE But it is already un-commented yet I still get no voices when the AI talks. Just the text. -

How can I turn back on the audio when AI talks over the radio?? Makes the world feel very empty not hearing any voices and having to read everything they say. -
Yea that was cool but unfortunate with the chopper thing. Few things could be changed/fixed: Add an engineer class so those damaged choppers can be repaired! (or is that only an ACE thing?) That may fix the need for reducing the re-spawn times of the choppers/ I don't recall any choppers every re-spawning so I don't think the script was even working at all. Don't allow opfor entering blufor choppers to reset the respawn timer and vice versa Maybe reduce the diameter of the capture zones? I know it was intended for 50 vs 50 but I felt with the 25 or so people we had the zones were too large. Other than that it felt great. Organization came a lot more naturally having the carrier spawn with no access to the land apart from the choppers. Map size, and travel distances felt good too. Oh and the squad assignment would be nice/useful when managing that many people. Would make a nice balance between fun and teamwork I'm pretty inexperienced so most of my points may be moot but I thought I'd throw them out there.

Can anyone with AAS and ACE join an AAS ProMode server? I have both mods and would love to try AAS with ACE. But I don't know if I have the skill/time to play at set times etc etc In other words, I don't actually want to play competitively with clans and what not, but would still like to play in a ProMode server. -

It's worth it. More teamwork that any warfare of domination server (screw domination) Is a gig so hard? Unless you're from Australia you don't deserve to complain about a gig. Sorry Aussies but you know its true! -

You mean take @ACE out of the command line? Then how do you play ACE..... I would Love to get rid of those annoying ace splash screens. I hate them. -

Nothing wrong with CoD players. I play CoD and CS, TF2, UT2003, BFBC2 and OFP, ArmA and ArmAII. I am not smarter than those who just play CoD, and those who just play ArmAII are not smarter than me. -

Hey guys, just wondering what purpose grass and foliage servers when playing multi-player on maps like Chernarus (spelling?) I was playing some warfare recently and something I love to do is find a nice hill outside of towns the enemy is on their way to occupying and sniping from there. I get all into it crawling through the long grass to a perfect spot overlooking a town. Sniping from there and spotting/lasing targets for other units is a blast. I feel all cozy hidden in the long grass. But after playing for a while and getting shot at and wondering how on earth they saw me (not the AI but human players), I realize all that grass I feel so hidden in doesn't even show for enemy human players. If I scope in on an area 200+ meters away from me, all the grass and bush objects and textures are removed and all you see is the flat textured ground. Makes it very easy to spot enemy units on opposing distant hills, all you gotta do is looking out for a few moving pixels against the still flat terrain. Your only cover is really trees, because those don't disappear the way grass and bushes do. Kinda kills the immersion for me, not just sniping but the whole concept of making use of the landscape for movement and concealment. If that grass showed for all players, I could hide a 12 man AI squad and plan an ambush which would be awesome! But I can't...... Just wondering what you guys think of this. -
