Hello, I'm planning to play through vanilla OFP campaigns, but before I start, I'd like to hear your opinion regarding playing the game with terrain detail higher than medium. I know the performance impact will be noticeable, however, let's assume it's not important. Are there any other problems with that? Does it cause inconveniences for AI or the player? I heard there are some, but nothing specific, hence my question.

Thanks, the data matches. I was beginning to think my copy was somewhat odd... :) Still, it's interesting they used ImgBurn for their media. I'll ask ImgBurn guys in what ways their software could have been used here.

Hello everyone, I found something odd when checking the Primary Volume Descriptor of ARMA 2 DVD. ImgBurn is a free disc burning program which I often use myself. I wonder how come its tag is present in the PVD of ARMA media? Anyone could post the info of their own store-bought retail disc (will take only a couple of minutes)? I would like to check if the data matches with mine. If you don't mind, get CDInfo here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Miscellaneous/CDInfo.shtml. It's a small program without any installation requirements (just a single exe file). Put your ARMA 2 disc in your DVD drive and run the program. You'll see a window similar to the one above. Capture a screenshot of it and post it here.

Anyone? Also what is it that the tanks destroy before reaching us in the bushes?

I'm having a problem finishing the mission "Defender". The mission objectives are: destroy the 4 tanks and "rendezvous" (doesn't state exactly where, but it's probably the NATO base at the town to be defended). I completed the first objective two times already. The first time I did, my leader got killed and I was the only guy remaining. I went to the NATO base on foot and there was nothing there. The next time we both went there (I followed the leader). The guy stopped near a building and kept waiting without doing anything. Nothing happened. Shouldn't some vehicle come to pick us up? A bug perhaps? If that's the case, is there a workaround to it? I am playing GOTY edition, 1.96.

Thats not true, i can run ofp and arma demo on highest settings but as you said then its too bumpy and it dont look good What machine do you have?

That made me feel better All of it . But since it's not really possible, I'll have to do with less. The highest visibility would be especially nice to have during flights. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">Ok, the midlevel detail and 3000m should be no problem for your setup though. Well, it isn't overall. Just could be smoother at times.

Hello, I've just recently installed OFP GOTY edition and got unpleasantly surprised by not being able to run the game at the highest detail. My specs: E6420, 2GB DDR2 800MHz, 8800 GTX, XP Pro SP2. Considering my specs and the age of the game, I got very surprised when setting terrain detail to very high and upping visibility put the game to a complete halt. I'm playing Cold War Crisis right now at normal terrain detail and visibility of 3000m and the game still isn't that smooth at times. I really doubt this is my problem since I have absolutely no similar problems with other games - they all run at the highest detail very smoothly. Does everyone experience similar problems? Is the game engine really that poorly implemented? P.S. The game itself is fantastic though
