hi guys.
iI am in no way anexperienced or even intermediate editor, config or scripter etc, but i recently read this over in the improved Ai thread in the Arma 3 sub section;

I didnt really think much of it till i saw about 8 guys running along a wall and then do 90 degree turn thru a broken section in the wall almost without stopping they simply just booted it thru under fire and it looked mental. Can somebody give me direction on "config_AI_skillz at 0.8" please?
I tried looking in my config files to no avail.

Open the editor, set up a convoy to ambush with satchels and MG support. I wanna see the explosions and ragdolls in full effect. :)
After this try to put the AI through its paces.

Is it possible to make the AI not unload until it reaches a certain waypoint? I'm trying to assault an industrial complex with some mechanized infantry, but the moment they see the enemy, they unload from the strykers and continue on foot over a large area of desert while being picked off one by one...Try messing around with this mod a bit:

Im no scripter myself, but also, couldn't you set it to careless/neverfire or somthing until it gets close to its destination?

Hi guys.
Most recently I have found I cannot join any servers aside from DayZ, I am not new to the series, been around since the tail end of OFP, and I understand how to run mods, create shortcuts etc, I have tried running Arma2 CO default, and also Arma2 CO with the beta and still no luck, servers are showing up with red X's, showing that they require 1.60, and then below it, showing my client running 1.60. I have not added any files to my 'addons' folder in the root directory and all mods are run with @folders.
Some assistance would be greatly appreciated as I am in the mood for some Insurgency etc.

Sorry I'm not sure if I completely understand what your saying, the commander will issue the waypoints and the ai will then engage as per the
(group this) enableAttack false mode?

Fantastic sounding mod you got here.
Just a curiosity, could I per say, place a bunch of squads with the init Code:
(group this) enableAttack false and still have them commanded by the artificial commander?

I just use the pso's range finder, and to great effect at that. It's a great rifle, and I rarely have issues engaging at ranges of ~800m

I'd say 95% of my play in arma has been in the editor and I still can't make a worthwhile mission. I can sure shoot the shit out of a convoy from a hillside though!

Hi guys.
So I just downloaded the molatian militia addon and it got me hungry for some BHD fun in either falujah or perhaps Porto, of course some waypoints will leave a lot to be desired.
Unless I'm mistaken, unitcapture is only really for flyers so I guess I can rule that out, is there any way I can get the convoy to keep on trucking at all costs through a hostile city?
By the way I did attempt to search for this with no luck.

Not to mention one of armas biggest downfalls is now fixed (as of beta and soon 1.60)- that being the warping in multiplayer

Wow, frickin awesome. Things were already looking great, and i assume theyre only going to get better.
Thankyou Suma, your, and all those involved (dedicated beta testers and fellow staff alike), work is, for me, reviving MP to heights never seen before, and ensuring that Arma 3 gain success like none of its predecessors ever saw!
Bravo. 1.60 must be quite close now, right!?

I'm on the same boat. Played for years but with that little voice inside that wept with every warp.
Now all I can think about is playing! It's like a whole new game to me again.
I'm thinking hmmm, I'll do some domination, now some warfare, oh I wonder if there's any invasion 44 servers around!? project reality! Some coops! MORE MORE MOREEE!

Thanks - My error was that I had file extensions hidden and my dummy file was still a txt. Had a bit of a look but my local aef server was empty.
Did some domination and warfare with the beta and I was amazed. Seeing jets and helo's flying so smoothly overhead was great. Went for a cruise on quads and motorbikes and it was amazing.
In SP you see them driven around, but by AI and how do they drive? Like AI. No swerving around, going cross country etc. When I saw an actual human driving around without stuttering it was simply awesome.

Hey did u guys then copy a copy of your @PR folder to your: C:\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta folder? Also, i dont understand creating a dummy __praaexe in the folder, since theres already a praa.exe in there? :(

Enough of this server mumbo jumbo! Force, how is the gameplay going in terms of Rubberbanding when most players are fairly local to the Server(damn i mentioned server)?

Looking good, everything looks promising just hope that without AI etc that te game doesn't rubberband too much. Shame we didn't get to see any shots fired, but soon enough we will all be hailing them Downrange.

From my (meager) understanding most of arma 2's rubberbanding issues appear to arise from people very far away joining servers and also AI running all around the show.
The former can only be policed via moderators but the latter, with PR being people only, should minimize this, right?
How have the beta tests been going in regards to this. Has rubberbanding been as big of an issue as say a domination server with AI everywhere?
Even with things on track as you say for release this month, do you think we might still be able to get some new footage of PR in motion, specifically from an infantry standpoint?
