  1. Much later on is just not good enough. There has been enough time given already to get this game right this time round. I'll give patch 102 a go and then that’s it, I'll be joining the queue come the weekend. Then it's back to a free game called Project Reality that does rock.

    Well, its not a MMO, so since your happy to go back to PR for a time, and in the case that A2 doesn't deliver right away, you'll be satisfied until it finally is optimized enough to your standards.

    I too suffer the same 'lowest settings 22-25 fps- highest settings 18-23 fps' on my rig too, so i feel your pain, im just going to sit tight. Might have to DL PR in the meantime too :)

  2. Well, the good news is good, shame about the bad, if i were in any way talented in such things i would love to lend my assistance, but alas, i am not.

    Fingers crossed some more zombie loving freaks can be of more aid so we can have our combat armor rendered useless by hordes of the undead(or infected depending what route you want to go) feasting on us!

  3. Tell me please, that I should replace in this configuration , to improve performance Arma-2?

    AMD X2 4400+ , GF9600GT 1gb , 4 gb DDR2

    (Windows 7 x64 , 1024 x 768)

    I want to buy AMD 9550 X4, it will help?

    Or I need to change video cards? (eg. GeForce 250 GTS)

    To buy two things, do not enough money :banghead:

    Well, my CPU only bit more powerful than yours and i got a 4890 and only got a little bit better FPS, so, in my, uninformed, oppinion, try the CPU first.

  4. Devices found: 1

    ===> Testing device 0 <===

    Device type: RV770

    Max resource 2D width/height: 8192/8192

    Total GPU memory size: 1024 MB

    Total CPU cached space size: 64 MB

    Total CPU uncached space size: 128 MB

    GPU engine clock: 850 MHz

    GPU memory clock: 975 MHz

    Number of timing loops: 100

    [ 16 bytes] CPU->GPU= 871.466 KB/sec, GPU->CPU 670.641 KB/sec

    [ 32 bytes] CPU->GPU= 1.063 MB/sec, GPU->CPU 885.410 KB/sec

    [ 64 bytes]

    All gibberish to me...Anybody feel free to translate :P

  5. Not for me it doesn't.

    Slow textures, slow fps, flickering. I'm beginning to think the engine itself is just deeply flawed.

    I have 1 gb 4890 but also am suffering sub-par fps etc. But i believe this being due to my 6000+ dual core. Ive read conflicting posts about the goodness/badness of this cpu, so Im still too confused whether to just wait for patches, or upgrade my CPU, and switchin to Intel is not an option.

    Anyone having decent frames with a phenom II 955 x4?

  6. yea im surprised how some people with high end rigs are getting crappy fps to people with low end rigs. I just upgraded 2 weeks ago , and some people are saying the performance of the windsor amd 6000+ 3ghz is crap. There is no way im going to upgrade again after spending all that money, i just upgraded my ram,cpu,gfx card and motherboard and that cost me around $550 NZD. BIS will need to fix the games engine coding, pff im not going to upgrade just cause i will be getting low fps , because BIS can't code their engine properly. I will still buy the game but hopefully they will release a patch in future to help optimize the game better.

    It seems to be a AMD thing more than a 6000+. I highly doubt (and a fair amount of hope too :P ) that Bohemia will leave us AMD rigged players in the land of the lame frames p/second.

  7. Man. Im so confused on what I should do. I just purchased a 4890 and a new MA770-US3 Mobo for my current rig (my old MX2 Mobo was causing wierd stuttering), ive got the famed(shamed?) 6000+ x2 Windsor and basically, im gettin the low 20's in FPS, even with all settings on normal.

    I been lookin at the Phenom 2 955 and now im reading that its no good, so where do i go from here. I really enjoy the game, but its hard to do so with such low FPS.

  8. So ARMA 2 is more GPU intensive than CPU intensive?... so upgrading my 6000+ dual core to something stronger wont necessarily improve my FPS?

    I just bought the 4890 for ARMA 2 from my previous 8800gtx, but as I said, my FPS is around 26-32 depending on what I have going on around me.

    Hmmm. Aside from ingame tweaks, what parts could be upgraded, but note, im not interested in dual carding.

    Once again:

    amd 6000+ dual core @ 3.01ghz

    4 gb ram (only 3.5 taken advantage of due to XP)

    1200 watt PS (overkill, but was cheaper than the 850watt!)

    4890 1gb

    Windows XP (32 bit, but I have access to both XP 64bit and Windows 7)
