detailed CQB sized maps - a discussion

Exactly. After all, I remember all the people who complimented Soldner on this feature when it first appeard. Because if you wanted to snipe, you could go up on a hillside some way from the main battle and kill noobs from up there, without being punished for leaving the 'operational area'. That is the trouble with BF style games.

Could Someone Make an IR Mod?

I know that NV will be in the game, but I was just wondering if it would be possible to have IR goggles in the game too, for close-quarters urban fighting and stuff. Just wondering if someone could mod this in or something...

Could Someone Make an IR Mod?

Yeah I remember now. I was stood in a tent with the guy who was showing me his goggles. My brother-in-law stood outside the tent and I used them to watch him through the wall of the tent. The background was grey and he (my brother-in-law) showed up white...

Could Someone Make an IR Mod?

But IR/Thermal goggles do exist? I'm sure I've used them in the past in real life...

Could Someone Make an IR Mod?

Yeah, that would indeed help with identifying targets using the b/w system. What about goggles worn by infantry in the field though? PS - Thanks for the imput guys, very interesting stuff to read...

Man, who do you think we are with that kind of money? Bill Gates or something?

Could Someone Make an IR Mod?

I prefer the colour one. It's just easier for me to see. Not sure if that's realistic or not though.

Could Someone Make an IR Mod?

Yeah, that sort of thing for tanks would be cool  We had that in some of the tanks in Soldner, and it came in very useful...

Could Someone Make an IR Mod?

Hehe, thanks for the lesson. Â Yeah, I mean thermal imaging, so you have the blue background and the heat shows up red/orange/yellow... Â

    ArmA Progress Updates

To be honest I reckon the next big piece of news we will hear will be that BIS have found a publisher. It has to be soon if they still want to reach their H1 2006 release date...

Who Likes Balance In Games Then?

They don't have iron-sights for guns? I thought this was a war simulator?

Who Likes Balance In Games Then?

Yeah, I could do without that too... Â PS - As long as we are allowed to use iron-sights...

    New moves and animation.

But would a soldier in the battlefield really care if he was 'comfortable' or not, or if he had creepy-crawlies all over him? I think he would be more concerned about taking a 7.62mm round to the head. I know I certainly would...

    New moves and animation.

We had this discussion when I did beta testing for Soldner - Secret Wars. Â It is perfectly feasible to fire an AT weapon whilst laying down. Â As stated above, the firer bears his weapon at a certain angle to avoid the back-blast. I don't think it's unrealistic at all to be able to fire these weapons in any stance... Â

    Carrying abilities

Hidden & Dangerous 2 has a system like the weight one. If you decide to carry an AT weapon, that really adds weight to you, and it slows you down...
