I read somewhere that anything over 25fps is undetectable by the human eye anyway! 100fps? That aditional 75fps would be better put to other processes! Â

This is funky and interesting stuff! Â How well does this set-up work with Track IR as I have just ordered one? Also where is your recommended source of lenses? I have a 19" TFT monitor. I am also a flight simmer so my ears are now firmly plucked! If I can get hold of a lens I shall experiment a bit to see what I think. I don't like the idea of a shoddy cardboard box stuck to my monitor though, so I would probably make a proper plastic surround attached in an easily removable fashion. My wife will kill me otherwise! Â

If you look in the Offtopic Forum in the Ask a Mod thread you will see someone requested it. And there was me thinking that the blog was about to 'hit the gas' and switch to overdrive! Â

Did the water taste salty or fresh? If it tasted fresh this would confirm that BIS are using different water for their ponds! Â Shit, I think we need some more screen shots! Â Â

Just because Game2 engine is near complete doesn't mean to say that Game2 is also! A game as ambitious as game2 that is supposedly gonna have lots of features not to mention gameplay, missions and a campaign will require a lot of working on for sometime yet. Â Vbs2 is more of a tactical simulator and won't have lots of pre-made missions and a campaign with all the usual gaming eye candy. Â Â IMHO! EDIT: GBee got there first! Â

I see this thread has been promoted to a 'sticky'. Could this mean something? Â

To be precise they are inlets not bays. It's the same sort of thing that Nogova had but called it a river all the same! Â Although the top one appears to have something flowing into it, and is that long dark shadow a lake or just a long dark shadow? We need more pictures! Â

So its's all in this Convoy training enhancements thing. Thus it is an enhancement for VBS1. How different is VBS1 from ArmA in terms of raw engine? Could this enhancement then not be incorporated into ArmA? Â Shooting your weapon from the back of an open truck, walking around the deck of a ship and being able to drive vehicles on and off, transporting them w/o them needing an allocated slot. Drive your jeep into the back of C130 or Chinook and drive it off again at the next landing. Doesn't Joint Ops have this kind of ability? It would be a really cool feature, but I know what someones gonna say.... Â Â No harm done in wishing! Â
-
Another stupid thread! Â Â Â Â PS. As GBee says most of those topics have been discussed only over the last few days. Ever heard of the word READING? Â
-
I wouldn't bother! Let L etranger have his theory squashed when the game is released! Â

If you try this experiment out, make sure you do it where no friends or family can see you. Other wise they might schedule an appoitment with a mental health specialist for you. If you bothered to try this experiment at all you would definitely need to see a mental health specialist! Â

It's that moving around in vehicles thing! I'm not sure whether this has been mentioned as a feature of ArmA yet but I certainly haven't heard it. I think I heard word of it in VBS, though I'm not sure of that either. Does anyone know the score here? Also walking around on moving ships etc. would be cool as it was a limitation in OFP. Â
-
Yah, there is too much of a kick with the left leg I agree, but the arm movements are about right though. Â
-
Something more like this... Only with a helmet, SAW and bdu cammo! Â

I think William Porter needs to post again pretty soon! Â

A soldier jogging through a field isn't that fast in terms of animations, and in any case that is no excuse for poor limb alignments. If it is noticeable in a screeny it sure as hell will be noticeable in game! I think our best hope is to assume that it is only WIP! It won't kill the game for me, but it needs to be pointed out in terms of constructive criticism from a very picky community! I love the way things are now progressing; I just hope it gets better! Â
-
There's that arm again... By moving the arm up and back inline with the shoulder it suddenly looks more natural... Lets hope it's still WIP!
-
That must have hurt! Â I think the shoulder should move back a little also for that possition to be gained. But hey, who cares .... as long as he can still fight! Â Â

A few new images available at a new interview with Placebo here.

So if in doubt empty a clip into every bush? CO: "Pvt Chunder, why did you not engage the enemy?" Pvt Chunder: "Sorry sir but I ran out of ammo...."

They are two different countries. They will have at least one airport each for sure! Â

If it was one of your Nordic bushes BergHoff I doubt that his rounds would penetrate it anyway! Â Just kidding mate! Â Â

Sounds cool! Go for it SpearheadUK I love playing as a Britt in war games, no offence to our Yankee comrades but there is just too much Yankee dominance in gamming these days. Â And yeah do some cool modern Britt accents too. Ever watched 'Aufweidersien Pet' that funny TV drama about a bunch of Blighty building site workers? Â ... I didn't know there were so many Britt accents! Â Â Never mind 'Tally ho!' and all that upper lip shit! I'd love ta help ya, but time doesn't allow. Â

Weapon on back & walking with head down in mouse look mode at least the front of one foot appears on each step! Â

They already fixed that issue, take OFP:E for example,no matter how hard you try,the structures actually feel solid now, there is no running through...trust me,I trust to do the stand, run and prone though a wall...didn't quite work...and *Gasp* when I went into a house I didn't get stuck in the damn stove or table. Thanks meyamoti, but as I said the clipping issues and collision detection issues aside, as I am aware that these have been fixed. The point I was making was about the general feel of moving around inside buildings just felt wrong, jerky and awkward. Maybe the new animations will fix this though? Or maybee bigger interiors might help also! Â
