...Na! Hes looking for a scanner to photocopy his arse! Â

respawn=group ...Same as in OFP only now available in SP too! If it is now default in the campaign then their are two options if you don't wanna respawn: 1) When you die and respawn go back and start again! 2) Wait for a mod that removes the default respawn! I don't see the problem! You have a choice. Thats a bonus not a minus surely. Â

...This is what happens when a topic goes dead!   Will, ffs give us some screenies, news anything  ... I order you! Â
-
So you want a sandstorm! ... Lol, I'm sure it can be modded. Â

My main source of latest news and goodies for OFP was always OFP.info. So now that ArmA is nearly here, which is gonna be the best place to surf for all the latest goodies for ArmA?  Only serious contenders may apply!    So best sites for ArmA goodies will be.....
-
And what about buildings though? Do they not crumple either? How do they collaps in OFP elite or dont they? Â It just gives us non Xbox owners an idea of what will be in ArmA! Â

.... You took your time! Anyway I've already bookmarked you along with Armed Assault Zone.com. I'll be checking to see who has the most content, so be convincing Espectro 'cos u're being judged! Â -
Codarl I love your take on life! I have a mate just like you, ... we spend all our time taking the piss out of everyone we know! Fancy a drink some time?    I have to agree that your post is spot on though! ...Too many petty complaints about things that aren't even finished! My take on it is to ignore it, which I'm sure is what BIS does too! Â

How does OFP E show destroyed vehicles & buildings then? I would like to see some pics! Â

So OFP.info will change to ArmA.info or BISgames.info or just have a separate section for ArmA? No problem! But what about other contenders too? Â I'm more and more reluctant to visit OFP.info these days because I'm fed up of their popups and page diverters. Click on an image and instead of the image you get some corny Czec advert! Don't like it! Put adverts to one side, we will click on them if we want too! Sure they have to pay for bandwidth etc. ...adverts will do fine for that! And yeah these forums will always be top of the list, but forums are not as easy to quickly check for news as a dedicated website. Forums are for total feedback and debates not quick browsing for the latest info! Â So yea to all you budding website owners, I wanna hear who'll be doin what! Then when I'm through with all the crappy comments I'll make my decision forthwith! Â -

... Nice one! Nearly got me there! Â -
I agree! I just can't put my finger on what was wrong with H&D2! It should have been a really good game but I gave it up on about the third mission! Anyway back ontopic, I'm really excited about the ability to play ArmA's campaign coop with two people. Too many good games overlook this aspect (Far Cry, HL2 etc) and the original OFP would have rocked big for me if that campaign was coopable also. Hey! I've just invented a new word -coopable! Since I'm lucky enough to have a wife who enjoys shooting games as much as me (and if I dare to admit it is in fact much better than me!, we will be able to enjoy ArmA together as we have GR, RS, R6 etc. And since OFP was my favorite all time game in terms of playability I think ArmA will kick GR and all the others into oblivion! Coopability - thats what we need! Hey! Is that another new word? Â Â
-
If that compas can be made twice as big by double clicking or by using the zoom feature that should solve the problem surely. Â

The most successful people in the world started out by daydreaming. There's nothing wrong with having an imagination even if hopes for implementation are slim. ...Don't knock other peoples ideas just for the sake of winning an argument! Â And I agree that ArmA will be nothing more than a turbocharged OFP. But a turbocharged OFP will still kick ass! C'mon, it's already gone from an OFP upgrade to a totally new level incorporating many new things originally intended for game2. The more I hear about this game the more excited I become, and I personally am looking forward to some great things both in box an from the community! Â

I would have thought this refers to the way a tree grows old and looses branches etc. They showed something similar in the vid so that is my guess on it! Â Dynamic destruction of flora and fauna would be a bit much to expect from ArmA! But who knows yet! Â
-
From the Armed Assault report... ...So it appears that they are using it in ArmA also. Thanks adamicz for that translation, it seems that Jakerod's theory about the roots was right after all! ... this is music to my ears! Degenerated geometry ...that’s what I thought too and the rest sounds awesome! Â
-
... True and I did think of that, however, when a tree is uprooted it pulls up a ‘plate’, which is an area of soil attached to the roots and not just the roots themselves. So if this was the sole reason for showing roots in the program it would be better to show the 'plate' area instead as this is what would appear if the tree was uprooted. I'm intrigued! .... Me thinks these bloody things are actually growing! Hmm, must be some reason! ... Anybody prepared to translate some of that vid? Â
-
It appeared from the video that there was a tree (I think a birch) that had three different versions of maturity. One was a sapling the other taller but still young and a much older looking one with missing branches! If they can do this with every tree species they implement that would represent a huge variety. Also presumably the ability to randomly rotate each tree so even two identical trees will appear different if they face slightly different directions, a problem I found quite irritating in OFP when a line of Poplars along a roadside for example would not have all looked identical if they had only been randomly rotated!  Also what is with showing the root systems in the video? Why would they need the roots unless they will actually be growing!  This program sounds awesome! I can’t wait to learn more of what it can do! Â
-
Yea that video of LINDA looked quite impressive. If someone could do a quick Czech-English summary translation it would be cool! Â
-
... Yep! I'll go by that last quote! Â

Does anyone know how 'Linda' works and why will they not be releasing it to the community? This could be a great tool for island makers! Â I think this might be it. Thanks Jakerod, you came closest to answering my question! Â ... please expand why this would be? I'm not saying you're wrong, but would like to know if a version of it at least could be usefull to us. Â
