Agree with you on the WW1 thing. The total war engine lends itself to the large groups of units control. eg how wars used to be fought before WW1. If you wanted a more modern squad based combat system Relic have already nailed it with the amazing game Opposing fronts. I hope the Total War series looks at other eras that have not been done. Lets face it comanding 1000's of troops in large groups beautifully rendered by a game engine is a really hard thing to beat!

Definately agree, this has been around a long time, and for those of us who love to play the game commanding AI in groups etc, this can be very frustrating when it occurs. I hope it can be resolved!

Certainly not being any expert on the matter, I do feel Obama is the right choice, but time will tell! However my biggest concern, however outlandish it may seem, is his own safety from those that would prefer to see him dead. I have heard on the rumour mill that many many punters are very unhappy with the way Spore has been licensed and copy protected, can anyone shed light on this? I was quite keen to purchase this game as it is a refreshingly new concept.

W@rDog Your recent posts have been less than calm and you are correct you should not of responded to some of the comments or statements and your liberal use of suggestive albeit edit cuss words simply shows a lack of elequence on your behalf. If you feel someone has posted in a manner offensive you are to speak to the moderator team not fight a pointless battle here. I think a 48HR PR is suitable here. This is a discussion forum, everyone is entitled to his or her opinions, you have voiced yours very clearly, kindly do not trample on those who disagree with you. As for your flamebaiting consider yourself lucky you are not awarded a WL or a PR. If your specs are as you suggest then the game will run fine, I strongly suggest you seek help on how to optimise your ArmA setup rather than ranting about how poorly the game runs.

Perhaps my point was not clear enough, earlier in this thread. It had been suggested or implied that because Codies have lots of cash they could simply throw money at the project and it would be fine. Now my comparison of vista is a good one on the basis that without proper project and dev management and also the essential feedback from the player base, those funds would go to waste. You only have to look at some of the EA titles to know even with the muscle of EA their games come up short on quality many many times. Codemasters have tried to indicate that they want OFP2 to follow the same large scale feel as the original title had. However if the project leaders and managers at Codemasters decide to focus on other areas, all that money will simply not get invested in the areas required to make it the game they promise.

Just a comment for thought. A few of you mention how Codies will throw money at OFp2 an this will make it better. Since when did throwing money at any IT project make it better? There are several very high profile IT projects out there which have billions throw at them and the result has been very disappointing. Windows Vista is a classic example of massive funding and yet a product that completely missed it's market.
