Exactly. To complain or whine about patches or work arounds would be to alienate yourself from all software. Every decent software product known to man has had to be patched, updated, fixed, etc. I think I get the gist of what you are trying to say perhaps but I think it has come out in the wrong way.

The problem in a lot of cases is ego, or where people want to be seen to say something and therefore feel important or valued. This community like many others suffers from those who see themselves as something bigger than they really are and therefore have the swagger to go with it. What results from there is arguements, said people can be perceived as fanboi's or just attention seekers depending on their stance. The fanboi culture is comon everywhere on the internet. Like PrivateNoob has already said I do not get hung up on the tiny problems or minor differences in games, after all they are there to provide entertainment. We have rules here on the forums to try and keep order, we cannot prevent people from moaning and letting off steam. But we will deal with persistant trolls, therefore if you see someone who persistantly trolls for no apart reason other than to troll we would love to hear from you all.

Last time I checked steam is not affected my the money markets in that direct manner. I have seen many titles retain there prices irrispective of local shop prices here in the UK or in Europe. I honestly do not believe for a second that STEAM are powerless to reduce the prices of games that are marketed at the numeric price in euros or pounds as they are in US dollars. Profiteering at its most greedy imho.

in response to some of the recent comments.. While evolution was hugely popular it does not by default make it great. As someone has already stated it was a marvel of scripting and to many a really great game concept. But to others it was bordering on heretical. What is important is that the game engine is flexible enough to provide the contrast in game types, styles and forms of game play. Popularity is NOT a measure of quality lest we consider some of the ever popular lip sync boy bands who draw hordes of fans and are "popular".. On another note if you cannot find a public server that meets your gaming needs why not check out some of the clans/groups who advertise here. There is a really good mix of PvP and COOP orientated groups so I would imagine you can get your fix with one of those groups!

If you are running a server 2003 domain environment then you need to consider far more detailed aspects than just dns. Vista and windows 7 have a host of new AD entries that have to be applied to AD to ensure smooth working conditions. Server 2003 (even R2) simply does not have them in a vanilla state(even fully patched). I would suggest checking any updates you can obtain to bring your DC up to speed in terms of AD therefore allowing windows 7 to be attached to your domain in a proper manner :) PS I would defaintely backup your AD schema before applying anything new as it may have a detremental affect on your AD which you may not be able to recover from easily.

Not sure howmany of you are fans of football, but as an Everton fan I was bloody delighted this weekend when we pipped Man Utd in Penalties (never my favorite way to win a match). The penalty that was not given was very 50/50 to me the defender took the ball,but from other angles it looked like a foul. How many of you will be obligatory Everton fans onthe day of the FA CUP Final? Any predictions would be nice as well.

Like many of you I have been in the community for a good while and I can recall the days when addons were abundant yet missions were a rare thing. Little animated gifs were even created (one such I can recall that the Avon lady used to have) So, having been an avid mission maker myself I wondered how many of you caught the same bug I did and by that I hope to quantify it by a rough gauge of how many missions other budding and veteran mission makers have produced. Said missions do not have to be ones you have made public but they have to have been played by folk other than yourself, eg perhaps you are in a clan or in a gaming community. Please only respond with your total number of completed missions :) PS missions you have created can be from OFP and ArmA, or both!

I believe it may well only be available on steam in the USA, perhaps someone can confirm or deny this?

Closing, given the obvious 2 choices this thread does not bring any real value to the forum.

I am not the final authority on the theme matter by a long shot but if I recall the red theme that was used in the beta had issues, not least it certain aspects of the theme rendering text and other aspects unreadable or inaccessible. That said I am sure if the important people have time they will consider alternative themes. :)

Yesteryear ‘hear say’ is simply not going to cut it, this community is very aware of the need to ask for permission, the most basic reason for this is common courtesy. If you folk cannot communicate (which is immensely simple in this digital age) with the UKF team then one would have to assume that you do not want to. I am not going to reply to any further queries regarding the matter. If you insist on questioning or debating what is a very clear cut matter of improper use, the thread will be locked permanently, and warning levels will be handed out.

This would raise the whole debate of whether someone has a soul or not etc.. Perhaps a person is not simply composed of just your brain..

3 Lions Your video contains footage of the UKF Warrior imported into ArmA. From Dialoging with the UKF Mod team it is very clear no one has sought permission to do this, let alone use it as promotional material for your own benefit. I have removed the link to the video, and I do not expect to see it appear anywhere else. I would strongly suggest you speak to the UKF Mod team if for nothing else basic courtesy. You may not be publishing said add-on but you are nevertheless editing/modifying it (without permission), and using it for public gain by way of the advertisement. Any other links or material you or your group produces or publishes here on the BIS forums that contain add-ons or the like which you have not had permission for to do so will result in warning levels and this thread locked for an indefinite period.
