    What the ruling with threads on newly released movies.

    The Freddy v Jason thread was closed yet we have had a threads dealing with Terminator 3 and the Hulk remain open.

    How does the ratingsg system for movies work in the USA and other countries and that reminds me on the older films u used to always get the bbfc certificate at the begining of movies then again we had the silly video nasties phase when jason and freddy movies were new rock.gif#

    Uc,same as U but more kiddy friendly

    U,for everyone

    PG, might contain some things that aren`t suitable for kiddies but parents decide

    12A,need parents to see a 12A if their under 12

    12, age 12 and above

    15,not for ppl under 15

    18,not for ppl under 18

    R18, this one seems to be aimed at porn stuff and can only be attained in licensed sex shops rock.gif which is funny seeing as u can legally have sex at 16 rock.gif

    Of course you can. It was done. The US and the coalition won both GW1, GW2 and in Somalia. Dispite these tactics. And while there might have been some breaches of the "rules", over all, it was by the book. (During the actual fighting mind you, I wont get into the legality of GW2.)

    You didnt see western soldiers execute civilians by the dozen, they didnt take to using human shields, they didnt pick up babies as shields. They followed the rules and won regardless. How can you say it doesnt work after actually having seen the results?

    It would  be too hard seeing as the  most resistance u would get would be ppl holding sticks and rocks and  in the unlikely event that someone had something more powerful and defended the island  they`d then  be arrested for defending their home and put in jail  or u could take the asylum route and just all come  in rock.gif

    The temperature range where I live:

    Winter, nighttime - as low as -5C (23F)

    Summer, daytime - as high as 45C (113F)

    I bet the ppl in certain places are laughing at ur -5 when their living at -40 ,as for summer,i`d seriously consider being nocturnal tounge_o.gif

    I think t he doommsday overheating scenerio could be averted by giant cooling towers to catch all the water vapour in the atmosphere and water tanks on a collosal scale.

    Now does anyone now whats the most effecient propeller shape for a low speed cooling fan ??

    A/C isn`t widely available  here because u dont need it and now with the sudden heat everyones probably bought all the destop style fans not that they were sold all over the place too.

    Another t hing   about w hen the sun decides to show  over  here  is that everyone strips  off and decides to roam around making going  out annoying then they  get s unburned hahaha plus the old seem to a  cend from where ever they have been hiding  and  suddenly apear everywhere like a scene from night of the living dead also in a pair of pants and sandals   rock.gif

    i use ubi  sad_o.gif  iv once tryed using hl but whenever i join any server the planes lag and fly weird... like planes flying backwards  rock.gif  and this was on goodping servers aswell

    Don't know what you experienced, but it was likely just overcrowded servers with lag - which has nothing to do with HL. Give it another chance (you might have to wait, I assume HL will have to be updated to be compatible with the new FB version)

    Probably a crappy server with too many ppl sucking bandwidth t hen the idiots who host these things complain its the 56kers that do it rock.gif

    There was something  on TV  about 5  years back where u went into what could best be described as a human hamster ball  locked  into place made out of semi transparent material then u went inside and the virtual world was project onto the ball from a few  projectors so when  u walked inside the ball it moved the world about and u had a handheld device f or shooting and stuff.

    Incase u didn`t realise the UK is stupidly hot* at the moment.

    Now the UK doesn`t get stupidly hot so nowhere has air conditioning!!

    A plus side to this was having brief spell of lightning and seeing somewhere being hit by it and glowing for a while afterwards.

    U guys need to come up with ideas to stop the ppl of the UK from frying.

    Obviously fans would be a start but what kind and is there any better cooling solution than fans because i don`t want to be burning up too much electricty with them on all the time and i probably couldn`t get my hands on liquid nitrogen tounge_o.gif

    Another side effect of this is there is a hell of a lot more bug around moths,flys,ladybirds,ants and godknowswhat but thankfully not so many wasps or bees.

    most of the time i can use insecticide spray or a flamethrower

    (aerosol can and zippo) but in confined spaces and in places where food is prepared i can`t use these options so im left with the bb gun and good old fly swat but im considering traps.

    What kind of insects occupy ur region and what measures do u go to to deal with them or are u not bothered about them??

    One thing im wondering is if this freak weather is caused by gloabl warming and aside from the usuall blame falling on cars, how much damage do the space shuttles and airliners, etc which burn up insane amouns of fuel, do to the atmosphere?

    *Another wonderful thing about the UK is whenever the weathers slightly off,be it a little more rain than usual or a little snow something always breaks,fails or shuts down.

    In this heatwave the trains were held up because the railway lines were buckling under the heat,if its not leaves on the line amongst other things and the prices they charge for a ride crazy_o.gif.

    When theres a little extra rain,rivers burst the banks and ppls houses get flooded.

    If theres a little more snow the roads get blocked and when the bastard gritter truck comes along it sprays grit everywhere like it was being shot out with a pellet gun.

    -Consoles are boring. Can never update them, and they are all the same. Carbon copies of eachother. What I like about computers is that they are all diverse, and they are all tweakable. Sure, its expensive. But hey, what would happen if it wasn't?

    -Hate gamepads, especially Xbox. Too uncomfortable and not enough keys. I can assign so much to my keyboard. Versatility, my friends! I can get my gun out much quicker than you can click that button of your 6 times in order to get the Dematerializing thingamajicky.

    -Installation a bad thing? Not for me. If it just ran on CD, it owuld be slower. On my computer, I can play without the CD as well as MODIFY my game.

    - Computers are not just play toys. I can do my writing, homework, research, talk to you guys, play much better online, work harder, and the list will go on.

    -Modifications, Patches, and downloads.

    Yeah, I know. Xbox has this new patch thing now. But how long has it been and how many games incorporate it? IF theres a problem with the game, then it's screwed. At least I can fix any problems. Plus, I can get Addons, modifications, and neat stuff that Xbox players will never have. Hell, the internet alone is worth it almost.

    -Ability to make my own games.

    Thats right, if I wanted to. I can make a game using DirectX tools, C++, 3DSMAX, and everything else.

    In other words: Computers are more versatile, period. I don't care what you say, I'm not going to buy a plaything. With my computer, I can do ANYTHING. I also find that most console players are just Fanboys(and girls, if there are any) and most games are just carbon copies of eachother. The computer can also play strategy and FPS games much, much, more smoother than an Xbox. Give me a mouse over a crappad anyday. As well as PC's support MUCH MUCH higher resolutions than TV's. I think the best so far is under 640x480. Oh, know anyone with a plasmascreen high resolution TV? The only reason why console games look smoother is because of the lower resolution. Edges are not as defined and are blurry.

    Multiplayer? Dosn't matter to me. I have a few computers, and if my mates want to play with me, they'll have to sit down and use em. Anyways, I'm an isolationist. I hate large crowds and I don't like party's. With online play, I can play with alot more people anyways. I'm not saying internet people are better than real life people, it's just that we have better things to do than play twitch and shoot all day.

    Don't care what you say, I just hate consoles period. Toys, thats all they are. Anyways, if it wasn't for computers, they wouldn't exist.

    Microshaft bought Bungie during Halo production, and its clearly deliberate that they wanted to make it console only. Gearbox only recently caught the rights to port it to PC. Warin, they can't use the original PC stuff becasue it's not the final product. They have to convert everything from the Xbox copy and then improve upon it.

    Give me the monster machine, not the toy.

    I never said they were better.

    I think some views are a little shortsighted in the grand scheme of things smile_o.gif

    Too bad that 99% of console games converted to PC end up having either:

    - 640x480 support only

    - Crap controls made for gamepads

    - Ugly HUGE menus and huds and other overlays and UI objects and text

    - Ability to only save game on some locations

    - Other idiotism ("push start to begin")

    Games made for consoles also usually feel very different to PC games, as they are made more for "the whole family to play"... Dunno about halo, I have only seen pics of it and it doesnt seem that special.
