If they (BIS) make the heli ops more realistic and advanced they could win over alot of skilled heli sim pilots willing to lower their fidelity claims for some real human interaction instead. With realistic i mean the flightmodel, instruments and weapons need some overhaul to make it more challenging. This might be more feasible for "OPF2" but something worthy to consider since most of them are still flying around in Longbow2. Might get the Steelbeast´s to buy it too if tanks could get the implementation they deserve. -

@Pierrot There is no point in drawing dots on your screen if you have "freeaim" like in OPF. -
"Judge me by my postcount do you??" (Not many people here that has doubled their 4 years of posting in one week!! ) On the topic again....i´ve had OPF since first day and dl´d all patches the day they were released. That is "addiction", and for something to be addicting it has to be good...really good and BIS has not once let me down. Unlike several other "sim" oriented shooters through the years..

When looking at the North Hollywood robbery you see the 1st gunman fall like a ragdoll when he got shot. As stated before, hit anim with ragdoll would VERY natural (grip chest - ragdoll / fall to knees - ragdoll) plus, explosion death and anims looks like shijte imo. I heard somewhere that phys.engines are pretty "easy" to lift in to games, also seem to remember something about the ppu being able to work with other engines but with lesser efficency....but it could be in my imagination -

i´d prefer to se them use an physics engine compatible with the ppu, sure it expensive now...but we will play this for another 0.5 of a decade. Just because they make their own wont make it better. -
The old my gun is better than yours contest Weapon care is required regularily in a combatzone anyways so the tighter tolerances in the M16 does not really make any difference for a proffesional army, as opposed to guerilla/terrorist type fighters who only need something that goes bang in the general direction of pointing. The M16a2/a4 seems to be efficent as it is still in service and a cost effective alternative has not really surfaced. And when it comes to such a sizeable army like the US, the money IS a large factor...not the only though. Edit: another swede! We use a FN FNC variant here in sweden (AK5 license built) and if i remember correctly it did not pass without flaws either, and is beeing built with looser tolerances for our varied climate, and we only have two types of climate to worry about. remember.. The most lethal part of any warrior is training!

I´ve been waiting for something like the PPU since forever... Just think of the ballistics, driving and flight calculations it can do. (I heard this on another forum so it´s just from the top of my head) Think of it like this, the cpu wouldnt be a very effective way of rendering speculars and bumpmappings would it...just as bad would it handle physics. All it does is streamlines all calculations with a dedicated unit build for the job with special tools inside.

I hope they do the sighting system in 3d to make it much more editable. If you want 2d sights anyway then it will be 100 times more easy to mod in than 3d. Maybe the new engine will allow blurring for really close objects or they will have to use the BIA method (3d frontsight - 2d rear) Maybe i´ve been spoiled be the Red Orchestra sights

Modernised and realistic weaponsystems like manually guided TOWs and stabilsed sights for Mbts. Better Heli flightmodel,....dont really care for the current where you have very little freedom. Better tracers and mussle FX, more realistic night day difference for them. Sound engine, needs support for latest EAX and "popcorn" effect on distant shooting -
